    -- About BENETEAU --
The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water - first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe.
Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world - supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies.
    -- Philosophy --
We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms - the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations.
When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you - from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU - and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way.

There's one in the slip right behind me that just came in and its stunning. The only issue I can see with the boat is, it makes the rest of us look like it's time for an upgrade. Nice presentation.

This one of my favs, as a non-boater. Things i’d love but don’t know if possible: island bed to facilitate be entry without climbing over a partner, a video on the folding mast (med coastal and river traveling) , a hard bimini (durability and solar panels & rainwater catchment), hard cockpit sprayhood with non-distorted window, behind the wheels seating, extra battery for my 30.1e. Can i afford it?

This was much more useful than any other review of the Oceanis 30.1. Thank you! It is great to see behind the panels and under the seats. I am a prospective live-aboard buyer so more interested in comfort than sailing performance. I know how to minimise possessions to fit but the available storage space is, of course, very important. Any tips?

I bought a 30.1 two years ago and am really enjoying her! Galley stowage is a bit limited but there is generous storage under the saloon seats (part of the port side storage is taken up by the water heater). I find it really well set up for couples cruising and sail on the east coast of Canada. I would definitely stick with the full main sail and overlapping jib rather than furling main/self tacking jib if you are in an area with light winds. I have sailed her for two full summers and looking forward to my third an many more to come.

@@steveleclair7790 Your reply is very much appreciated. I feel you may have been reading my mind - I was planning on the self-tacking jib and the in-mast furling main! Then I am planning on being based in the Aegean where the usual problem is too much wind, at least through the summer. On land they measure the wind by what it blows over, "chairs" is not bad, "tables" is more serious. Your comments are noted. I am interested in the easiest-to-sail floating caravan. The extra half knot or so is less important. Thanks again.

@@steveleclair7790 Is there any storage above the salon sofa cushion backs, e.g for books and so on? The folding chart table unit takes up space where a beautiful piece of art could be hung instead. I could use the salon table for my laptop but there would be a need for a couple of 'paper' books for pilotage and other things if I did not have internet. Just trying to work out how best to live-aboard a 30.1. TIA. Tim.

@@timmillea sorry just seeing this now! The space above the sofa cushion backs is very limited so I don't think books would fit. You could hang a picture on the folding chart table and then when you want to use the table, fold it down and when done, lift it up and view the artwork! I saw a previous FB post where someone mounted a tablet to the chart table....very slick as when the table was in the up position, you could view the tablet! You could do the same with artwork.

@@steveleclair7790 Much appreciated reply, thank you. The more research I do the more difficult the choice becomes. Once I have the money in my bank account I expect it will focus not just my mind but that of a prospective seller. T.

Beautiful boat. I’d almost be willing to consider it except for 1 thing. 3:20 at the helm, this is all the space you get. The guy’s left foot isn’t even fully on the deck as he’s feeling for the throttle with his right foot. What’s keeping you on that boat in any kind of rough water… a single horizontal wire at waist height? Everything else about this boat looks fantastic. As a novice, I’d be very afraid to be at the helm.

They let you choose the tiller version so I feel like that's what the intended choice is for this yacht. Double wheel might be a cool flex, but takes too much space too...

@J Lewis The swim platform was down at that point is why my foot could be over the edge. While we were sailing 0:24 you can see me sitting on the leeward side secured by the stern pulpit & it's great to see the trim of the genoa.

It is neat! the DC powered Air Con. A bit pricey but eliminates the need for a genset. I'll send you pics. That was on hull No. 5 which is in Coconut Grove.

Depending on where you live, you may find one. I believe Anchor Yachts in Mississauga may have one or is getting one (I bought my 2020 30.1 there). I was just at the Vancouver Boat Show and did not see one there (they had a 34.1 though). You can also order one through Ocean Yachts in Halifax.....good luck with the search!
