Fantastic shots, gorgeous palms, thanks for sharing! One of my favorite places! There are at least a dozen or so royal palms planted throughout the park, and there is a massive, very healthy looking one at 2:11 on the left side of the street. You can also see some smaller ones at 2:48 along the path and several other times in the video. They’re decently rare in California, especially so many in one place. Love it!

Thank you! Yes there are also some Brahea armata, Brahea edulis and Howea forsteriana down there. Really beautiful park.

These might be some of the most healthy natural Canariensis In the world. The LA basin has a unique micro climate that cant be found anywhere else.

I was thinking the same thing. They all seem to be very healthy, not suffering from pests like in Texas and Europe. And perhaps they are even taller than the ones in the Canary Islands? Not sure about that….

@@palmsavanna Im looking at some date palms in the Canary Islands on google maps and some of the healthiest ones I found look great but even then they might have a few dead palms here and there. Where the ones in LA are full and lush. Some of them are very tall compared to most places in the world but I would say the ones in the Beverly Hills flats are about 10%- 30% taller. It makes sense because where else on earth has Washintonias that are as tall as the ones in LA. Even if you go a little south to San Diego, the palms are a bit smaller. The tall LA mountains hold in the moisture and temperature from the ocean.
