The number one tip I give new players is to think more 3 dimensionally. The devs love hidden rooms and most of them are easy enough to find if you just look up every once in a while. I've got 1500 hours in the game and still find new hidden spots from time to time. They generally like to hide a bunch of loot in the hidden areas making it beneficial to search them out. Not anything an endgame player will care much about, but at this stage in your gameplay, every little bit counts.
Welcome Tenno! Buy weapon blueprints with credits from the market to carry you. Focus on doing the quests and complete the starmap. Don't pay attention to loot, you'll get plenty along the way. If you need help, get yourself a clan to back you up and mentor you. Have fun any enjoy your stay. :)
The energy is very contagious and you two complement each other nicely (one likes builds a lot, the other fashion frame)! I can't wait if and when you reach the Story Missions around Uranus!
Also Warframe's unique in that if a glitch is found the Devs will tend to embrase it. Like the Helicopter technique they turned that glitch into an actual move set that lasted for years before someone changed it or it got fixed.
As a Warframe player, I'm glad you're enjoying the game. It can be overwhelming at first, not very beginner-friendly, but the grind pays off. It's like school in that sense putting in the effort now makes you stronger and better in the long run. The story is quite good too. again thank you for trying warframe Warframe is so underrated
I have +5k hours in game, my wife even +7k hours. Once in a blue moon we still find a nook or cranny that we never came across before and we often take time to really explore the map in a mission instead of speed running each and every mission.
I got back into the game just under a year ago, and played for 3-4 years when it first came out. This brought me such joy watching you two with the experience. IT's FTP, but honestly it's the only game I play anymore. The community, the gameplay, the grinding and building...it's the perfect game for the entire experience. I never get bored. Love warframe, been playing in since it came out. I've taken breaks, but come back. My biggest issue, is for all major content, they push you into multiplayer. I've played mostly solo and don't being forced to party up. Most of my experiences with rando groups is we drop in, i glance at the map, and then get the message "3/4 waiting for you at the evac" Always RUSH RUSH RUSH
There's an option to turn off matchmaking and launch any mission solo ? I barely have a week in and even I know this, just do that if that's your issue with playing with others lol
Grind as much nightwave as you can, you get slots for weapons & frames. Get any drops or give aways that are weapons or frames as these come with slots as well; even if you already have those items, cause the slots remain even if you sell the items. If you need frame slots, and want to buy them, get a full prime frame. This will include a slot for that frame and slots for its weapons, plus plat and cosmetics. Then you can do what you want with the standard frame and weapons. Companion slots are harder. Give aways for these don't happen often, and there aren't many prime versions. But you don't need a lot of these slots.
Oh also I hope I get to see your reaction to seeing Stalker for the first time basically the most terrifying enemy to encounter for new players. The Grundess 3 is probably the second most dreaded unit to encounter. Although their drops are spectacular. Oh and you might want to explore the clan structures an inside them more because most don't know this but their are still moduels to build armies back when they had actual pitched clan battles for Solar relays where. My old clan was involved in that alot and we actually beat Angry Joe's army once durring this until the Dev's stopped this. But they left the stuff and programs and mechanics to build the armies so we might be getting army battles in the future.
I think most people don't play it because its kind of a grind game but the storyline is so worth it! I been a 7yr long Warframe player and i adore the game, i also do enjoy the effort i need to put into getting the items its more fulfilling when the items are fully made.

The only thing I will say is that anything with stats can be farmed for, and even some of the stuff that's just cosmetic, without spending a dime as long as you have enough patience to do so. Heavy emphasis on "patience". Also that on console, you don't even need PS+, Xbox Live or Nintendo Switch Online to olay it online, they mean it when they say the game is free to play.
I knew you may get the warframe bug when I heard you excited for 1k headshot. Numbers go up and my brain is happy. Last night a screen shotted a 36.2mil radiation proc. It was great.
if you end up in the nexus their is a hidden boss who only appears after 1 hour of play in the nexus Johnny Prodman with a pretty covided drop and this guy is all the way back from the Beta with his own lore.
I can answer the titular question as someone with a modest 1k hours in the game. It's honestly the mod screen. When a new player first goes to customize their warframe or weapon they see the mod screen with all the stats, and it looks like too much to learn and just uninstall. No shade at them I totally get it. There are so many systems to learn and the game is terrible at properly explaining them. Even the in game tips aren't very helpful. Sure the community is great, but if people don't understand how the game works at a base level what good is the community gonna do? Players shouldn't have to use external websites to understand how damage is calculated, or about what matching the polarity of a mod to the polarity of a slot does, or even that auras and stances add mod capacity. The veteran players shouldn't have to onboard new players, that's the tutorial's job. Hell tutor is the root of the word. The other thing is a lot of the early game is directionless with no story in sight. I've seen countless stories of fresh Tenno with 90+ hours before they even finish "The Second Dream". All because there are dozens of other things they could do by the time they get around to it. It's kind of like Skyrim's main quest. It's basically a meme that people have done all the notable sidequests like the dark brotherhood, or thieve's guild quests before even talking to the Greybeards. Third, the players want to change weapons right, so they go to the market and the list shows all the guns, but with the plat price tag attached to most and a credit to the mk1 variants and think "shit I gotta buy plat to get these, man fuck this game". Not knowing that a lot of the market weapons have blueprints they could buy. Then last but certainly not least, the craft times. 12 hours for frame parts 24 hours for weapons and 3 days for a complete warframe is enough to turn most people away. There are arguments for keeping them and against, but that's not the purpose of this comment.
