I finally stopped listening to NPR and dropped my New Yorker subscription (and resigned from the Dramatists Guild, among other things) when they lionized Hamas and demonized the Jews - which was happening by October 8 and continues nonstop. My beloved Left has become totalitarian and viciously irrational. I blame it mostly on the Postmodern movement, so expertly dissected (most recently) by Pluckrose et al. Also, among the many things the modern progressives can’t allow themselves to see is that every time they shriek their demands, they create ten new Trump voters. I’m a Liberal - and I despair of “liberal” injustice.
You couldn't have said this better -- thank you.
Amen.
Loved this conversation. Curious to hear more. Must buy book.
I'm a TFP subscriber and I enjoy the information and daily news stories. However, I'm tired of culture wars and identity politics.
I was in the arts in the early 2000's where this stuff was hidden but pervasive. There I cam up with the idea of the 'art school lynch mob'. I then moved into the sciences (biology) and I found that these ideas had followed me.
Following along with the Harry Potter comparisons, when it comes to the explosion of the size of the "alphabet crowd" I heard someone explain the phenomenon by saying "Some people just can't stand the thought of being a Muggle." I think there's a lot of truth to that.
The bit about "validating" whether a woman is a lesbian had me in hysterics like Nellie. This was so refreshing to listen to
Building more market rate housing won’t help solve the supposed housing crisis when the housing crisis is a fentanyl crisis. Those people who live in tents on the sidewalk aren’t sitting there waiting for affordable rent. Stop using them as an excuse to let developers destroy the city. I hate how people who decide they’re no longer delusional left suddenly then become developer bootlickers. She’s not changed, she’s still a luxury beliefs person.
My feelings exactly with NPR. Same with MPR or what used to be Minnesota Public Radio where I live. I now call it Marxist Public Radio.
The first 3 minutes are tedious, but hang in there,
she eventually gets to talk.
Gets interesting about 11.00.
Her conversion is good, but, let's face it, conservatives and centrists have been saying this repeatedly for years now.
45:16 most queer people are bi . Most queer people always been bi . Most people identify as "queer " because they *don't* want to list off all the alfapbet . So there are too many terms but the general "queer " is too vague . It seems like you just don't like people who happen to have a more complex identity ( most people from my experience use queer as a short for " its a long and irrelevant story ." )
St George was not murdered.
Lol died of a drug overdose....dude was a real "winner"
She realized the woke troubles in 2020? 🎉 :)
People have a "tolerance" to things, yours may be greater or lesser than mine, hers was quite high so it took a while to reach it. I see it with books, there is a certain amount of "woke" I can cope with, one it passes that level I can't.
"Jews for Jesus," a joke? But maybe Messianic Jews?
How bout stop calling George Floyd's death a "murder" ?
Exactly.
Good interview apart from the statement ‘i am a woman who can vote and a woman with a bank account’ good grief!
Total silliness
No thanks. Bowles IS the problem.
Well, she says, she was choosing "careerism" and "vanity" which is pretty self-aware and self-critical. It is a long road to freeing yourself from indoctrination. Most liberals never even start down the road, so give her some credit.
@@BrianHillsure. She also contributed a ton of damage, knew better, and did it anyway. The term grifter gets thrown around a lot. It might be apt here. Notice how she's booked on all these platforms. Suddenly. Once she makes a public apology for the outright hit piece on Peterson, then some credulity may be appropriate.
Fair enough. We can keep an eye out for an unequivocal apology. I admit I don't have 51 minutes of patience to see if there is one somewhere in this interview. Maybe someone else listening to it will.

There are _many._ She's no grifter, she's an honest reporter.
