After nearly 40 years of riding my bikes as fast as I could (usually), I was diagnosed with ARVC (enlarged right ventricle, aka Sudden Death Syndrome) in 2008. Reluctant to give up riding my beautiful bikes especially on multi-day bikepacking adventures, I continued until 2 years ago when my cardiologist recommended I go to an e-bike. I bought an e-mtn bike and an e-gravel bike. I continue to ride just about everyday and have done a couple of e-bikepacking adventures. These days, it's more about riding totally in the Now, being present and enjoying the journey, savouring every second. Sometimes, less really is more!
This was refreshing! Ever since the pandemic ended. Times now I been bombarded with work, worries, distracted. I’m at the age of 56 I’m dieting and soon will be returning to cycling again. Having to get back in the saddle of my 2016 GT pro series 2 road bike and retrain is not easy. I will find that motivation deep inside me again.
I’m in awe when reading that you’re doing your own camera work and cinematography. Kudos… brilliant on so many levels and you made some fabulous choices on angles of riders… keeping us within the environment you’re riding in. Also, the aerial shots were just stunning. *nod to the patient friends you have willing to help you get some of these shots. Always a huge plus 👍🏻
Spot on. For many of us ,slowing down puts us face to face with issues perhaps avoided, buried whilst constantly in the fast lane (running away) without realizing it! Humans, now more than ever are simply marketing opportunities for Global Corporate Interests... pretty crucial to at least be able to stop from time to time and reflect, learn what is real. Might have to put up with and move through huge conflict, negative emotions, fear, uncertainty, doubt before we see light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone is different and we all carry our own emotional, psychological baggage. Just press on. It is worth it if we are to find our truth. Prayer is good too!
Great story!! But the thing I have also discovered is that once you decide to slow things down, you have to keep making that decision because speed on and off the bike is constantly calling you.
Wonderful piece, Adore Keira and feel she has a bright future ahead on and off the bike. I see videos like this and I am in awe at the cinematography, sound & story telling! very well done.
Lovely vid, I really like your lovely place and your beautiful bike. Oh why did you give it away?!?!?! Get it back, this bike is the best you’ll ever own or enjoy, contract or not
Wealthy European cyclists have led to the gentrification of Girona, soaring real estate prices and the uprooting and displacement of native families. This movie should really at least attempt to address this issue instead of ignoring it altogether. There is sometimes a social cost to finding your bliss.
Yes, there does seem to be a trend of 'ex-pro moves to X to slow down and find meaning in life by bike' videos over the last couple of years. And yes, you're right, very little reflection on the effects on X in that equation...

Thanks for reminding me why I fell in love with cycling. Imma ride my bike until I can't no more.
Amen I'm 74 and ride everyday ❤

One step at a time, you'll get there!

Your life will become even better when you get tastier morning coffee by replacing that grinder with one that's actually good :P

I thought I knew my way around the Girona region, but can you tell me where the village on the outcrop of rock is...I've never been there?
Castellfollit de la roca

LOL @ 03:46 - What's the Catalan for 'hooligan!'
Beautiful, and a lifestyle I think I would love. Call me ignorant, though, but how do you afford it?

The description does not mention the filming location. What part of Spain is this? Is Girona the name of the area? Thank you. Very nice scenery.
Yep, this is Girona and the surrounding area!
Girona located in the Nort-Est of Spain, Catalunya, close to France and 100k. from Barcelona
RISK IT FOR A BISCUITTTTT
What is the make/model of the bike? I didn't catch it. Thank you
