    I needed this exact video! My grandmother passed and I was given her blender. It's safe to say it was not cleaned very well.. but I'm excited to make it brand new!

    Thank you so much. I never knew I could disassemble my blender. I was able to clean the blades. And the housing base. Yaaaay. It's like brand new!👍🏽

    Thx. I wasn't sure where the rubber seal was supposed to go when I had to put back together and this helped 😊

    That's why I love these type of blenders!! Vitamix you can't thoroughly clean. Oster B&D Hamilton Beach you can disassemble them to clean.

    Thanks I was trying to get my blade appart. I do not have good pliers to get the blade out but I do have some plumber socket and worked perfectly.

    This helped me a lot as I have a Hamilton blender that is similar and for some reason the lights are on but nothing, the blade isn’t blending, I’ll see if I can get it to work again, God bless!

      It still doesn’t work, it’s actually a black and decker, glass container like yours. The lights go on but no buttons work to blend anything. You hear a buzz sound but not working. What do you think I should do now? I actually probably haven’t used it in over a year and the last time I used it I remember I made a yogurt smoothie and perhaps some of it got into the blender motor because I remember the bottom cap was a bit loose, I just cleaned it and stored it away til now.

    The 3/8" nut on my B & D blender blade is recessed within the plastic drive wheel. There is no room to get a socket on it. Any suggestions on how to remove the nut? Thanks!

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  Рік тому

      If it's like mine the stud that the nut is screwed on to is part of the blade assembly.. So if you can't get to the nut, turning the blades should work.. The recessed area would hold the nut in place while you turn..

      @jjocat900 Рік тому +1

      Thanks for your reply: I've tried turning the blades while holding the drive wheel, but it's hard to get that drive wheel to stay in place. (Since it's plastic, I can't grab onto it with a pair of pliers to keep it from turning while I'm turning the blades--the pliers would damage the plastic.) I'll try again, but I'm probably going to have to buy a new replacement blade.

    For how long did you let the parts soak in the water?

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  2 роки тому

      3 years ago so I don't remember exactly but I would guess 10 minutes or so..

    Can you say what nut was used for that again? I lost it and I cannot figure out what to tell the ACE hardware guy what nut i need!! lol

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  3 роки тому

      It holds the bottom blade assembly together.. Just take that piece with you to the hardware store.. Tell them the outside dimension of the nut is 3/8" and it's reverse thread..
