THANK YOU!!! I was trying to get the motor out by prying the drive OFF with pry bars, but I was bending the sheild apron. This video showed me you have to HOLD THE MOTOR STILL and then unscrew the drive from up top!!
Thanks, never imagined it was so easy to remove the impeller driver. I didn't need one, just needed to take the blender apart of put some oil on the bearings, screaming like a charm now. Thanks for posting.
I dropped a spoon into while the blender was running. Just ordered a replacement from Amazon. Amazon had some prime shipping, eBay cheaper but longer shipping. Thank you!
Just earned a sub because you video was straight to the issue and not some crazy time grabbing scheme in order to game UA-cam algorithms. Hope to fix this thing today, it isn't the same model, but it must be kind of the same process
Thank you so much for the video. It worked for me with some extra work because my fan blade started to get stripped so I ended up taking the fan off putting the nut back on halfway to protect the threads and grabbing the motor with a niddle nose vice grips and a crescent wrench on the other. Thank you again.
IF yours didn’t break completely off, but needs replaced (growling noise in my case) this may help you: The square drive stud simply unscrews counterclockwise out of the bushing allowing the plate to come off - I just held the nut (under the motor) securing the fan blade by hand while unscrewing the stud. Once the plate is removed then you can remove the motor from the plastic shell. To remove the bushing, I removed the fan blade and grasped the threaded end over the flat side with plyers while unscrewing the bushing with channel locks. ..not very hard to remove so I didn’t crush the threads too badly! The threads survived to reinstall the fan blade. NOTE: I tried to find an additional “jam nut” to tighten up against the first one to prevent the first nut from unscrewing, with a wrench on it, while removing the bushing. It is 1/4” but uncommon ‘threads per inch’ that neither Lowes nor Ace had (it is NOT 1/4x20 nor 1/4x28) guessing it’s a discontinued 1/4x32 on my 80’s or 90’s model. IF you can order an additional nut with your new parts, you will have the easiest removal - and you could just leave the additional “jam nut” in place...(No reason to remove the fan blade this way) Oh and don’t even try to grab the fan with plyers or it will easily begin to round the flat side off against the bolt when you attemp to unscrew the bushing - just way too thin to resist much force!
Hello Adam. I know this video is 7 yrs old but I have this same blender,. Since the motor is fine, I decided just to repair with driver kit you illustrated. However, I'm having no luck getting the driver or, what some people call the stud, out of the blender. In your video you already have it out. I've tried holding the fan or the nut to the fan with a crescent wrench and turning the driver with pliers with my other hand. It won't budge so I'm wondering if I'm missing something? Thank you
Amazon sells this whole kit. I need a new blade again. It's a good deal with 2 blades, 4 washers, and this mysterious blade coupling, for $9.99. So I thought I would UA-cam search it. 💡 But, I own the Oster Beehive blender: ALL METAL DRIVE! I don't need this mysterious coupling. Thank you.
Thanks! My parts should be here tomorrow so will try this. We love the blender (it's not this model, just a basic pulse/on switch and HEAVY) and I wasn't looking forward to spending $$$ on a new one.
This is a great video! However, I'm stuck and I hope you can help. I have a 10 speed Oster blender and when I took out the three bottom screws, the motor did not release as it did for you. It is still firmly situated in the plastic housing. I don't see any additional interior screws. Do you have any ideas?
The coupler on my Beehive was not broken but the square drive pin kept slipping out of the hole on the blade assembly. Maybe the bearings in the motor have worn and let the shaft sag a bit? Your video gave me the idea to shim the drive pin up with a washer between the coupler and drive pin. One less appliance in the landfill. Thanks!
Thanks man, got back my blender back to work.. saved me from buying a new one..😊😊😊😊 mine was a bit old so I have to do some extra work but it's fixed now :) :) Thanks again.
This video is amazing but my blender is oster 1200, I bought it on December 2020 and the motors are attached… I can’t tell what screws I have to remove to get the motor out to change the driver. I was axle to open it but that’s it. Do you know how?
Do you happen to know how the speed regulation works on these blenders? Mine has developed a fault where any of the speed buttons pressed give the same speed. Easy fix?
Thank You so much... That's exactly what I needed to know 😁 and I love my reverse feature this Oster provides. It does amazing with my smoothies I drink daily! Mine is a new version but looks like the application will still work like a gem. Ii can't thank You enough!!
Foo, my fan spun on the shaft, despite the shaft having a flat side, and the fan having a hole that (used to) have a flat side. I tightened the fan nut, but it just came loose again. I removed the nut and fan, and carefully put an adjustable wrench on the shaft. That allowed me to break the driver loose, but of course mushed the threads on the fan end of the shaft a bit. Some care in reinstalling the fan and nut sufficed to get it back together. Now to order a replacement driver . . .
I’m trying to take off the old stud from the Oster blender but I’m not able to do it! If I hold the fan and rotate the stud with pliers, the nut from the fan loosens and falls down! I tried to open the fan and hold the shaft, but isn’t working either! Any suggestions please?
By mistake I turned the blender switch button anticlockwise over the off position while it was working after that it doesn't work. please let me know what it may happend
I will not buy an Oster again. Treated mine like a baby. No ice, only fluids and fruits and veggies. 3 months in and I can barely get it to chop up almond milk and fresh fruit. The power is there, but the blades aren't spinning? Neighbors getting irritated.
Stev607aqr Remove the plastic bottom from the base of the blender. Holding the center of the fan, grip the knob with a wrench and twist it counterclockwise.
Stev607aqr , i have the same problem; when I hold the fan at the bottom, and use a pair of pliers at the top and turn counter clockwise = the nut and then the washer or spacer or whatever that silver ring is, comes off!! My Osterizer blender is about 30 - 35 years old, "Designer, Dual Range" I can't find any site that even recognizes this model. Anyway, did you ever find out how to get the motor out?
I am trying to replace the driver on my 12-speed Oster slightly different model from the one demonstrated in your video. After removing the 3 screws holding botom plastic cover, the motor unit does not come out. What may be holding it? Please advise! Thanks. Leo Goldberger
You don't need to take the motor out completely. If you can hold the fan like in the video and twist the drive pin counterclockwise it should come loose fairly easy.
Not all Osters are the same, mine from the early 2000s was not serviceable and after messing with it for a few minutes I spiked it in the garbage can! 🏉
Hi Adam. Thanks for the video and it's quite knowledgeable and quite easy tutorial to understand. Thanks a lot. I want to know that how to fix a oster chopper that is not spinning. The blender is spinning but the chopper rotator is not spinning neither the blades. please help
Thanks for bringing a 50 year old Osterizer back to life! Lots of memories with that machine making the world's thickest milkskakes.

Lol and a lot more 😂😂😜😝😛💯💯💯💖💖💖
THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to you its off and now time to order a new part
Thank you very much!

Informative. My 6 year old was fascinated with this video.
*10 year old

did you ever get the problem solved? If so, how? Leo Goldberger
Same problem here
Same here
Same think happen yesterday, I knew I’d find the answer
on youtube. Thanks AdamDIY great and clear explanations. A+
Your video is amazing, my blender is the oster pro 1200, do you think I can do it as you show in your video
Thanks, Andy! I have the EXACT machine you repaired.. do I don't expect a problem.
Thanks!
Thanks a million! You helped me fix my blender, and just for $10 parts from Amazon. 🙂
Thanks man, got back my blender back to work.. saved me from buying a new one..😊😊😊😊 mine was a bit old so I have to do some extra work but it's fixed now :) :) Thanks again.

I just bought some plastic toy pliers. It looks like something like this might be great application for my new tools
Very helpful. Shared with someone on Amazon asking how to? Thanks
Do you happen to know how the speed regulation works on these blenders? Mine has developed a fault where any of the speed buttons pressed give the same speed. Easy fix?
This helps alot ty
Thanks - just the information I needed. I ordered the part on ebay and should be back in business soon.
Thank You so much... That's exactly what I needed to know 😁 and I love my reverse feature this Oster provides. It does amazing with my smoothies I drink daily! Mine is a new version but looks like the application will still work like a gem. Ii can't thank You enough!!
Thank you for this information!!
THANKS BRO!
your video is great....was ready to take my blender to a fix-it shop and pay $45 labor and $10 for the parts.

Wow hey thanks 👍 I have an old school osterizer blender the coupling broke I thought I was done for...wow thanks 👍👍👏👏💕
Wonderful.. thanks a whole lot
Just want to say thanks for the videos.
You are welcome!
Hi there, very helpful. My oster blender fuse button seems to be stuck inside and won't go back to the normal out mode. Any solution ?
Watched your video and I think I can do this! Great job on your video
Love your work by blessings to you and
Thank you man. Nice I'm fixing mine when get parts
How long did it last?
I’m trying to take off the old stud from the Oster blender but I’m not able to do it! If I hold the fan and rotate the stud with pliers, the nut from the fan loosens and falls down! I tried to open the fan and hold the shaft, but isn’t working either! Any suggestions please?
I’m having the sabe problem. We’re you able to fix it?
Excellent video.
Thanks. Great video. Just what I needed.
By mistake I turned the blender switch button anticlockwise over the off position while it was working after that it doesn't work. please let me know what it may happend
What about fixing *broken thread on motor screw* ? 😢
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! It’s very helpful!
Thank you for making this video sir!
I will not buy an Oster again. Treated mine like a baby. No ice, only fluids and fruits and veggies. 3 months in and I can barely get it to chop up almond milk and fresh fruit. The power is there, but the blades aren't spinning? Neighbors getting irritated.

Thank you I have this kind of problem know I fixed
How do you put the cord back in?
Will this work even for a vintage 1950 Oster blender with the same problem?
I fixed mine this same way..it is an old one too, maybe not 1950 but for sure 70's
You rock my man! Thank you :)
What about the stud? If its rusted?
Can't get the old part off my Beehive blender. When I hold the fan the nut holding the fan loosens. Any suggestions? Thanks.
You can take the fan off and vicegrip the threaded shaft. you may ruin the threads but as a last resort, I would try it.
Stev607aqr Remove the plastic bottom from the base of the blender. Holding the center of the fan, grip the knob with a wrench and twist it counterclockwise.

Many times stickers are covering the screw holes. If not then I would check under the rubber feet.
You don't need to take the motor out completely. If you can hold the fan like in the video and twist the drive pin counterclockwise it should come loose fairly easy.
Awesome- thank you for this. It's just the info I needed.
Not all Osters are the same, mine from the early 2000s was not serviceable and after messing with it for a few minutes I spiked it in the garbage can! 🏉
How cud I order that driver you're installing. I had the same problem with my Oster blender
what model blender is tht ur fixing? is it the new oster 1200 pro?
When this happen does the blender turn on at all? mine does not and i'm not sure if this is the right fix
Pablo Andres Cabezas It should still spin the motor. You have a different problem with yours.
Iwant parts of blender in Hyderabad which area
Thank you!!!
How do you know that it’s driver causing the problem
It would have been a good idea to clean off that rubber powder and also put a few drops of oil on the 2 bushings.
Thanks so much for this info.
Thank you 🙏
Glad I bought the cheapest Oster made. That way if and when it breaks I'll buy a new one!!
However, with this premise you are throwing blenders into landfills fairly often.
I’m going to try to fix mine
What if your blender got soaked in water or such?
What do I do if I broke the lever
Thank you Adam. Excellent video, short sweet and hits the spot. Thank you so much. Now I{m off to the parts store with renewed self confidence.
Hi Adam. Thanks for the video and it's quite knowledgeable and quite easy tutorial to understand. Thanks a lot. I want to know that how to fix a oster chopper that is not spinning. The blender is spinning but the chopper rotator is not spinning neither the blades. please help
I remove the wires from circuit board. Problem is i forgot which red wire goes where.. help from any one?
Merci mec👍
thank you!
Can’t release the motor-
Taking out various screws. Won’t release :/
i can't get out srews.with skewrewdriver
Every light is flashing on our Oster. What does that mean?
THANK YOU very much Less than $5 dollars 😮
I want the glass to buy or be replaced . Mine is fell and broke . I will buy it. The machine works perfectly but it just glass which broken.
The driver won’t come off, I’m holding the blade and it just unsrews off of the machine.
Had the same, got it solved by turning the blade around (this way the blade gets stuck with the frame) and tighten it real strong
Can’t release the motor
Got the kit
Unscrewed various parts. Won’t release
great
I want jars of blender in Hyderabad
You could have removed/cleaned all that black stuff around the driver.
Ps. I had a burnt fuse. Thats fixed.
Where is the fuse located ?
@@geeharris5150 close to where the power cord is inside the blender. Small white tube with metal caps. It fits in a u shape clamps
& what idiot designed it that the screws are 8 inches in
Do you just buy broken crap off of Craigslist and fix it for your YT fans?
