Whenever I see a strongman pass out during the Conan Wheel I always think of Raimonds Bergmanis back in 1996 when they were calling a slightly different implement the Cask Circle. Hit his chin on the way down and I'm pretty sure he was totally out for a minute. Brutal event. These guys are tough as nails.

It’s literally stated in the rules the slide does count as long as you don’t keep pushing as soon as you’re done

I remember when martins was just a kid and starting in najor strongman! The next year he walked in bigger, then the next he was a monster, now i see these young men so strong and powerful, many still working 9-5 jobs and training, once theu get some footing and support, the new champions will rise up, so exciting
Martins is 100% my favorite active strongman.

Is there a specific location you must pick up bar? I see nothing marked. Closer to the basket may equal less leverage, but it is a smaller circle with less steps. Plus the angled support bar is there to lean into. Just wondering? 🤘😎
Less steps for sure, but a much, MUCH harder pickup. Not worth the extra effort on the pick.
Exactly. The further in the heavier it feels in hand. Way out is much better.
You're correct if their strength was enough to easily pick it up at any point. But it gets exponentially heavier the closer to center. If you are the Incredible hulk, sure grab it by the center and just quickly run around.

this might not be the fairest because the height of the setting is fixed and people with different height will have some affect on that
You're absolutely correct.
To be fair, you could say that for just about every sport. Height is a big factor whether to an andvantage or hindrance. In this case you could say its a hindrance, but thete are no height classes like weight so whoever has the most appropriate genetics wins. Like every other sport

ok i have a question for anyone who might know do they have to pick it up with their hands or can they shoulder the bar if they can get it up high enough? i would think it would be easier to mount it over the shoulder blades to spread the weight better im guessing its against the rules to do that? either way nice job to all the competitors!
that amount of pressure on your shoulders is a hell no lol i would imagine this is the safest easiest carry only thing they can maybe change is grip i think
I think at best you'll dislocate your shoulder, at worst do some major damage to your spine

@@jocm99 There's a pretty long lever on the weight, so they could stand pretty straight with the bar on their shoulders. That way the exercise would be significantly easier, which is why I bet there's a rule stating that you have to carry the bar in front of you.
@@jocm99 That's quite surprising. I carried people way heavier than me both in my arms and over my shoulders. The latter was much easier.

Can you do this walking backwards? that might be the trick, it's easier on the body and joints walking backwards.

@@HitTheStixBRODIE literally the same way they are now lifted with the arms but you could lean back and brace it some over your body. Some have done it as I stated but apparently it's a rule now to do it the way these guys are now, which makes sense as it's easier since you aren't bracing so much with the arms.

Why wouldnt count is kinetic enery. They produced it. Ita not like they could slide it while on the ground. The friction force is emence with this weight.

I wondered if it would be better to wear a chin protector,
because these Strongmen used all their strength at the last minute which made them tend to sag their entire body at the end.
Then the height of their head is level with the metal bar as they sag,
making their head often hit the metal bar, which in my opinion makes them vulnerable to injury.
