I wish there was a voice cast list and credits, great voices for the characters! But what caught me off guard was that Lord Licorice here is undoubtedly voiced by the legend Jonathan Harris! What a treat!
Oh. My. God. Thank you soooo much for having this! I feel like a kid again watching this (even tho I'm now in my 30's lol 🙈) this video and Eureka's Castle are pure childhood to me. Thanks again...this was amazing to nostalgically watch!!
Mostly on spot. Mr. Mint has a weird voice unfitting for a lumberjack, and King Kandy went from sounding regal (which is better fitting) to sounding uninterested (not fitting) between two stories.
Unbelievable! My sister and I vividly remember watching this like a movie, soooo many times! Not playing the game much tho lol. I love this, so many memories. Thank you for sharing this with us
@@MacandBloo4ever well, I was saying that, because other than the story (that wasn’t based on the Legend that the board game came with in the 80s and 90s), the artstyle they made was tied in with the version of the board game that nobody liked, due to removing some characters and changing a lot of them for the wrong reasons (both design wise and personality wise), as well as changing the rules that went from being beneficial in having fun to detrimental in cutting the game short. Not only was the artstyle changed, but the Candy Land Kids from the 80s and 90s (seen in this video as well) are long gone in favor of “diversity”, when they could’ve made two or three more with different outfits, making the main two kids come off as siblings. Lord Licorice’s voice and song was the only positive I can give to the “movie”, as Lord Licorice is like the Robbie Rotten of Candy Land. Everything else I know of the 80s/90s Candy Land has been erased, having the movie devoid of everything we knew about the characters before hand. I should also point out that from seeing this video, I’m surprised Licorice is somehow respected in Candy Land (mostly the Red Kind), yet the Lord of the Black Twizzlers still acted very antagonistic.
Dude.. I'm so stupid lol I forgot I had this memory, and then I realized 26 years later that this was in fact a board game follow along thing lol I used to watch it for the sake of watching it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm watching this with my 6 year old as we play the generic newer version. But this is what I played with cousins circa 1988 or so when I was a youngin. I feel like I memorized all the sound effects and voice acting!
One of my mom’s friends’ kids gave this to us as a hand me down without the actual game but my sister and I didn’t care we watched the vhs all the time. I’m so tempted to get the full game on eBay lol
Robert J. Walsh ... Robert Irving ... Hank Saroyan.....they were all responsible for music in Muppet Babies! Im adding to the list of comments about muppet babies music--definately music came from muppet babies...or muppet babies came from this!!
I think that's Howard Morris playing Jolly and Russi Taylor playing Lolly here. Don't know about the rest... EDIT: I think that's June Foray voicing Gramma Nutt here.
I think my grandmother got this for me. I don't think she understood the concept of recommended age. I was 4, maybe 5. We played it once. "Mom. I never want to play this game ever again." And I never did. Looking back, although this animation is worse than trash, if it can even be called animation, they managed to get a surprisingly impressive voice cast. Seems almost like a waste...
Takes me back to my childhood...only thing missing is...the game board. I miss these stories!!!! Long live Candy Land!!!!
The 80s/90s version, that is.

I could be wrong, but Plumpy sounds like he’s voiced by Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh.
Will Ryan as Plumpy
Howard Morris as Jolly

Princess Lolly is so cute, and Queen Frostine is so beautiful.
Childhood memories of playing Candy Land by myself (with the help of my VCR) came flooding back to me. Thank you.

I loved this when I was little ❤ Childhood was great in the 80s! 🍭
That is incredibly charming and adorable! They put so much effort in the shiny paintings and the voice acting is on spot.
Mostly on spot. Mr. Mint has a weird voice unfitting for a lumberjack, and King Kandy went from sounding regal (which is better fitting) to sounding uninterested (not fitting) between two stories.
My younger sisters used to play this. The only thing notable about it to me was the fact that the music came from MUPPET BABIES episodes.
You know where to find the music?
I knew that I can watch it all over again years ago and everyone will remember it
So cool, I love Candyland, I think I had this as a kid.
man, I remember playing this as a kid.... so great!

This would've made an excellent children's show!
I know, right? A lot better than what we got in "The Great Lollipop Adventure".
Robbie Walker I actually like that movie.

Omg i usted to play the little "videogame console" when a was ten or nine years old.
You've got yourself something RARE!
BTW Jolly sounds like Ed Wynn
He sounds like king candy from wreck it Ralph
Funny isn’t it lol
@@user-bi8wb3es6m No! It isn’t. It actually sounds more like Mayor McCheese, who also has an Ed Wynn type voice.
When I tell people my family had this VHS game they say "it never came with a VHS". Suuuuure it didn't!
Thank you very much and I used to watch it when I was a little girl and please don’t delete it
I know, I don't want this to be remembered as Candyland: i.imgur.com/ywPqt8p.jpg
Used to play this all the time - also, this music is also FOR SURE from Muppet Babies.
Was it Golden Book APM music?
@Elijah Hechtman Do you know where I can find the music cues?
I was beginning to think I dreamed this film up!
Takes me back to childhood at my grandparent's house, we played this over and over again on their big wooden tv.
That Jack in the Box tune sounds like a starry night.

One can indeed watch this as a cartoon without the game itself!
15:20 that's not a candle, it's TNT
16:15: It's a ROMAN Candle.
Robbie, Zachary said TNT! If Annoying Orange saw this comment, he'd have a real BLAST! Hahahahahahahahahah!
"Beer & Board Games" needs to play this!
Core memory unlocked.
Omg thank you for bringing me back to my childhood I LOVED this game
3:55 sounds like music from Muppet Babies.
Fun fact: the voice of lord licorice is none other than celebrated gay man Nick Mullen
I can tell Queen Frostine is voiced by Tress MacNellie
Mr. Mint sounds like Mr. Meseeks from Rick and Morty. LOL

Is that Denis Leary narrating? It kind of sounds like him.
Brilliant

Whoever composed the music for this video must have also composed the music for the 1984 version of Muppet Babies.
It is; it's actually reused music. But where can I find it?
It sounds like Muppet Babies (1984) theme song

Columbia Tristar released this VHS Board Game?
Nope! It was MB Video.

Well, it sounds like Queen Frostine is voiced by Tress MacNellie and Mr. Mint is voiced by Frank Welker.
Jonathan Harris is the voice of Lord Licorice! Also I think Kenneth Mars voices Plumpy? I'm 95% sure of it.
Nick mullen as lord licorice, stavros halkias as plumpy, Adam friedland as queen frostine
