Skull & Crossbones VHS Interactive Board Game

- Skull & Crossbones is a family board game playable with or without a video.
The players represent pirates who have deserted Captain Skull's crew and are trying to locate and steal his treasure, and escape, before Captain Skull returns, captures them and makes them "walk the plank".
Movement is controlled by the use of "move" cards which direct players to move a number of spaces in a given, or choice of given, directions (North, South, East and West). In so doing players collect location cards, visit locations, and try and identify the whereabouts of keys which can be used to open Captain Skull's treasure chests.
On the video, which runs in real-time, Captain Skull will intervene to try and stop you finding his treasure. His parrot 'Crossbones', on the other hand, will be trying to help.
The first pirate to find their treasure and escape the island is the winner, though other players should also try and locate their treasure and escape before Captain Skull's return (after 60 minutes)
I uploaded this for people who still have the board game but do not have a VHS player. At least now there's a digital version for all of you! :)
Thank you Mike for this. I am the inventor of this game. Unfortunately it had a short shelf life because the board game company went bust in 1993 and it was not re-issued. I have tried several times to get it re-released with a DVD replacing the old video but to no avail. So it rests as a vintage board game at the moment and many people have never seen the video! Odd to think that not only the creator of this board game, John White has posted in the comments section (I pinned it). Also the little girl who appeared on the back of the box! It's also nice to see the people who've either rediscovered this board game or have stumbled across it. Show their appreciation for this board game because they've been able to play it because of this VHS rip and upload I made half a decade ago now. Though all credit goes to John White!

I have got this game. Really great game but not played it much. But i do watch the Video from time to time. Great work creating the Board Game. Fingers crossed we get a DVD version.

Love this game! I loved Atmosfear too but this was always my fav vhs game. I need to try the Klingon star trek vhs game too. Also i believe there was a star wars one, i need to look into that. I'm gonna transfer all the videos to dvd so I can play these again!

So why is my name (JOHN WHITE)on the bottom of the box as the copyright holder? Don't know who you are or why you would infer such a thing. Obviously got nothing better to do. Very, very sad!

Has anyone got a copy of the rules? Ours went missing years ago and desperately trying to get a copy. Even if it's just a scan or something. If anyone could help us out you're a legend!

Call and response was a common mechanic in video board games, which helped make sure everyone was paying attention.
@@watcherofclassics But the plot of the game is the players are mutinous crew, they should say "Yarrr! Its Captain Skull!" not "Aye aye Captain!".
