Loving the new style of videos! I'm sure it's more work, but the difference is huuuge and im sure it'll get you the views you deserve! Thank you for helping us noobs out.
Thanks Kevin! Just make sure to give yourself time and don't be discouraged if it takes awhile to see improvement. No one gets this stuff overnight but anyone can do it if they simply spend the time on the right type of practice:)
Hey Jon, love the new format of the lessons. The idea of looping one lick chromatically through the fretboard to get it down more smoothly is something I've been using even when practicing licks from songs and solos, and it makes it works like a charm every time. I was wondering, do you think it's much use to use the exact same routine and practice advise you gave for this lick, but repeat it for simply running up and down the scale playing each note only once (so strictly 3NPS)? It's much harder to do, at least for me, at break-neck speed since you'll be shifting your arm more frequently as you change the strings more often, and your pick slanting constantly changes, but even though it seems like a bread and butter lick for other types of 3NPS licks, does it really have the same mileage and use in solos (in the sense of why would you play something like that when it doesn't sound any more musical or impressive to the common listener, but just feels significantly harder to pull off for you as the performer)?
Hey dude, do you practice tremolo picking? I have a hard time trying accent the first hit when it gets faster... 160 bpm, piece of cake... 180 bpm, difficult but OK... 200 bpm, fuck! Where did the accent go? Lol... How can I develop an exercise for that? Cuz my band have songs that go up to 240! And I want to play it perfectly! Congrats for channel, you rock!

I think that’s a great idea. I also like the sound of a pure scale. Like you said it’s more difficult so it’ll help your technique a lot.

At those tempos it’s much easier to feel every other downbeat. Your picking will sound smoother as well.
@@JonBjork Well, you got a point...
