Automakers are absolutely DESPERATE for sales amid sales declines and overpriced vehicles...or so Zach would have you believe! Ray believes that it's simply REALITY finally hitting these dealers after years of taking advantage of consumers. What do you think? - Розваги
A 5.8% price reduction is a joke. New cars are so overpriced, I won't consider buying a new car until the incentives are increased to 20 - 25%!
Hold the line for 50% off. Do not until
@@IanThecrackerstackerespecially for these struggling companies. I said a while back that I will pay half what they are asking for most these vehicles. Might get my wish soon. 😂 HOLD.
looked up new model of my tacoma. To get same truck i bought at 3 years ago 37k is now 52k. F that, not paying 52k for a tacoma.
@@skizzurp6880Plus your generation of Tacoma is basically bulletproof on reliability, and the new ones have had several issues. You also get stuck with the coarse and unrefined 4 cylinder engine.
They are still playing the con games and treating buyers like they are stupid. If I never go back in a dealer showroom it will be too soon. KIA dealers are the worst in my opinion.
Drop in price are still about 15%-30% more than what they should be. Big deal with a Pacifica is from 50k to 47k. Its not worth 40k.
It’s not worth $20k
ANY average American should be able to afford the Pacifica. It should not cost more then 30K, fully loaded. However the fully loaded one is around $65K. 🤯🤯🤯
It's called making clickbait videos.
@@jaygalgano8033That’s not realistic at all lol
@@hoapres Pretty much. The channel used to be useful but now its just clickbait these days, super disappointing.
They ran out of fools to buy their overpriced cars/trucks.
AMEN
More like the fools ran out of banks dumb enough to give them loans.
Exactly. When you hear the news saying google for “give car back” is trending it shows a lot of people have no clue wtf they are doing or how real life works. I gave it back now I owe $0!
And then many of us are disenchanted with the greedy ways and still aren't going to do business greedy dealers and automakers. Let them feel the desperation.
They are running out of idiots to buy at stupid prices.
Not in places like NY where more people live than LA Chicago Philadelphia and Boston combined
Dodge chargers and challengers comes to mind 🤔🤔🤔
THEY SAY, 500.00 REBATE. ON A 100K TRUCK.. no way jose.
"THAT WON'T PAY FOR THE NITROGEN IN THE TIRES!" heh lol
Absolute, F'n joke !
Reminds me of the old MAD Magazine cartoon showing a coupon for "50 cents off a trip to the Moon!" Normally, a trip to the Moon cost $100 billion. But with the coupon, it only costs 99,999,999,999.50! LOL

I can afford a new car. I'd like a new car. There's zero hassle with my credit. But I'm not really looking because it'd be simply flushing money down a toilet because the new car prices are absurdly high. The auto industry has simply outpriced themselves, killing any perceived value proposition for the customer. Auto manufacturers got too greedy and priced their cars too much, outpricing much of their market. I have a mint, paid-for 2018 WRX that I'd actually like to trade in for a small/mid SUV (easier to get in and out of). But despite my WRX being a unicorn (mint with only 7k miles), I'd have to pony up $15-20k to bridge the difference to a get a moderately sized SUV (RAV, Forester, etc.). Despite me easily being able to afford it (I could pay for the whole new car in cash and my credit score is exceptional), it makes zero sense to do it.
In the same boat. Just can’t justify the outlay for what you’re getting. I don’t need to buy so I’ll wait until the sale price makes me feel warm and fuzzy (note: talking to 10 dealers every couple weeks)
Same. The only truck that I would consider is the ranger, and maybe the raptor version as a dream truck, but they are throwing mark-ups on it. I'm just so disinterested in buying right now.
But you're not an idiot. You have to take the idiots into consideration.
With you. Have a 22 Mazda 3 with 6 k miles on it. Even with that for me to get an equivalent 24 or upgrade would cost 15k easily. I could easily pay cash but why? A car is a car. Nothing separates many of them from each other. And because of the rise in prices the depreciation only grows.
Same.....but add a boat, camper, etc, so many things I'd like to buy and can with no issue but the ridiculous pricing pushes me to the sidelines.
Do these people understand basic math? $1000-$2000 won’t even cover the sales tax on most vehicles. Also, in many states, the median income isn’t much more than the average new car price. So let’s all keep driving our older cars until the real incentives come back. Show them what “market correction” means!
look Boss; de plane, de plane!
The MSRP and price drops are primarily on vehicles that no one wants. The Toyota's and Honda's are still priced exorbitantly.
Not all. I'd say that Toyotas, Hondas (and to a lesser extent) Subaru and Mazdas have a "higher base of perceived value".
A lot of that is built upon "perceived Quality". Models in the low to mid 20's can still be found out there for buyers who don't require all the "gingerbread" trims/packages.
@@NVRAMboiThe quality isn't just perceived.
A Mazda is value above and beyond an American or European sh*tbox that will fall apart in 3 years.
A Toyota Highlander is priced about the same as that Chrysler Pacifica shitbox, so no the Toyotas are not (really) priced exorbitantly, but the Chryslers are.
@@humanchannel9421Mazda sucks just as bad as american cars
Honda civics are a little overpriced, but 10-20% of 20k is a lot better 10-20% of a 40k vehicle.
Accords are about where they were before covid. I cannot attest to the rest of the linup because I don’t find honda’s other vehicles good looking so never paid attention
They should be worried and desperate, prices are inflated unreasonably
That's why they aren't desperate! Too many overpriced cars. If they were desperate it would show. They aren't budging still. They aren't desperate.
Do you know how many times i tried to swipe the HAIR off my screen 'till i realized it was your picture thing? LOL, ya gat meh!
It's called "self destruction" and "reaping what you sowed"! They thought that screwing over people and getting them in under-water on the values of the vehicles they sold them - with NO regard whatsoever for those buyers, they will get away with it! Well, now they are reaping that destruction - and I could not care less for them. I feel for the people who are now in such a bad position, they cannot get rid of those vehicles! If the dealers had ANY moral integrity, they would trade those overpriced vehicles and EAT the losses themselves and not pass it onto the customer on a new vehicle. NOW customers should NOT buy - let these crooks FRY.
Couldn't agree more this is 100% corporate greed. Now these "stealerships" are getting their comeuppins!!! Let them all go bankrupt!
Damn😂, i felt that in my soul. I couldn't agree more. Cars are not houses.
What happened in 2008 with houses is going to happen with vehicles, just wait because there’s going to be an implosion. I would bet the banks are now selling packaged car loans to investors with bullshit credit scores, just like they did with mortgages, and when those suckers start defaulting people with throw their keys at the banks so fast it will make your head spin. When we hit the bottom, I truly believe we will see tucks and SUVs that sold, especially Jeep and Ram, for 90k sell for 20-30k with just 3 years of delectation or so,
.
So who forced these poor innocent victims to buy those clearly overpriced vehicles? I made some bad decisions in my younger years but those decisions were mine. People getting in over their heads with a vehicle purchase is not the dealership’s fault. So no, the dealership should not have to eat it because some moron financed a 90K truck for 10 years that’s now valued at 50K. Just my two cents
Must be a Democrat blaming others for your poor decision

How about 35% price reduction, no dealer add-ons, dealers advertise Out-The-Door price, free scheduled maintenance/service at the dealerships for 2 years. And build vehciles without all the crap that is not needed, Build some more basic vehicles.
I remember the days when if you were out at a dealership looking for a NEW car the dealerships would fight tooth and nail to get you a really goood deal. If you didn't want any of the add-ons or packages they wouldn't sweat it. They would get you what you want.
That's utopia, which scumbag dealers will never do..🤑💰🤡👺🤮

@@BrUh-sj1pc I am not in the market for a car. And besides I am in Canada and the dealers are a lot different the way they sell cars.
The crazy thing is, Americans didn’t stop buying because they don’t want new cars. They really want new cars but most Americans have been priced out of cars they want, not necessarily what they need. Everyone wants the new new with all the bells and whistles. As soon as the consumers figure out they’ve had the power all along, I would hope we could regain control of this out of control pricing. Ultimately it won’t happen because of our insatiable desire for the new new.

A $2,000 drop in MSRP on a $58,000 vehicle that is overpriced by $20,000 is an insult. It doesn't matter if the MSRP goes down if greedy dealers just jack up the add-ons by as much if not more. One car I'm looking at has an $1,100 markdown but $1,695 in dealer adds on including nitrogen and door edge guards....on a Nissan. 17th ranked out of 30 in reliability. This is a car channel, but like you said - it's nearly everything across the board people require to live and have some quality of life.
Lowering the price of car by a few thousand will do nothing.
I’m so glad things are finally turning to a buyer’s market again, even though prices are so much higher than 4 years ago. I started watching your channel in the pandemic spring of 2020, and you really helped me time getting a great deal in March 2021 right before things got stupid. Cool to see how far you’ve come - congratulations on your success!
I love the idea of buying a new car. My Honda CR-V is 9 years old and going strong. I keep it well maintained and clean and have every intention to drive it until the wheels fall off. As long as Car manufacturers and dealers want to run up the cost of a new car they can keep them. My 2016 F-150 was purchased with a total of 16K discounts at the time. Good luck finding anything like that now.
Pay those insane prices and 7-8% interest on top.... total craziness.. You already lose money the money you drive off the lot and you pay interest on a depreciating asset? Wow.. Wake up people
44k for a new car. I paid 45k for my HOUSE in 2019. smh
Auto manufacturers all want to be luxury brands without the luxury quality and leaving average joes who just want a to and from work car high and dry
Thumbnail of this video is misleading. You can't get a Highlander for a good price. Maybe until summer or Christmas season. Lucky if you get a few thousands off by then.
I'm looking for a hybrid 2021 and you can't get one less than 35k
All they have to do is increase the free maintenance to 3 years, and warranty the engine and tranny to 100k miles. If you they have confidence in their product, there's no reason not to.
Which, when you come right down to it, they could easily do. Any car built today is far more reliable than they were 30-40 years ago. And considering how much more complex they are, and how superior they are in nearly every way, is quite remarkable. What has happened is certain Asian car companies have gone above and beyond, and now everyone wants that same degree of reliability.

Not Toyota. My dealer has a Sienna on the lot, lightly used with 10,000km on it. They are selling it for almost $15,000 Canadian over MSRP. And it will sell, just not to me because I don’t feel like getting screwed.
Bunch of clowns out there somehow think the math will work out paying 60 grand for a hybrid minivan, then trading in 4 or 5 years and getting 15k for it. This has been going on for years now and I'm still flabbergasted.
$47K for a pacifica? nope! In 10 years it'll be worth $1500
Prices ARE STILL TOO HIGH . .
I'm in the fortunate position of being able to pay cash for a new vehicle or my credit score is excellent if I decide to go the financing route. I am in the market for a new vehicle BUT I refuse to play these sleazy games the dealerships try. *Market adjustments, dealer add-ons, outrageous fees, etc.* As consumers we have the power and it's time we start exercising that power. In my area there are *Chrysler, Ford, and Nissan dealerships* that are charging fees if the customer doesn't have a trade-in, fees if the customer doesn't arrange financing through the dealership, fees of several thousand dollars for *reconditioning* on a one year-old car, Dealer Doc fees as high as $1000. Doesn't matter if the MSRP is dropped as long as these BS fees are present.

These gents have been predicting dramatic changes in the car market for quite some time. Still waiting
The sad part is , they think this video reflects what they say .
You aren’t looking at the data. They aren’t saying the “you” will be happy any day now. The momentum is shifting and that is a very big deal. It may. Not save you $10K now. But supply and demand dynamics have shifted. They take the time to show us how with real data. That’s what you need to make informed decisions, but that doesn’t mean they have the power to get you what you think you deserve.
This video is spot on! I've been waiting to buy a new car and I'm glad I saw this before pulling the trigger. Sounds like I should wait a little longer so the prices come down even more. Those dealerships are getting desperate! Can't wait to see those end-of-year deals!
I see on your chart that 16% of vehicles are still being sold above MSRP. So since there are still plenty of suckers buying at absurd prices, desperation is still off in the distance. It's gonna come around though.
Or, looked at another way, 84% of buyers have made it clear that they're not going to pay MSRP anymore. The party's over and most everyone knows it.
I disagree with your view...that just means 84% are still suckers and still probably paying msrp which is wildly inflated. It has always been inflated that's why you could sometimes negotiate well over 10k off a full size truck. I wonder if all the suckers paying msrp now have always bent over and paid msrp. Once I decide on a vehicle I'll go anywhere in the country to get the right deal. $500 plane ticket can save you sometimes $5k over whatever deal you can get locally.
It's impossible for dealers to lower prices enough , because of high interest rates , declare bankruptcy now
Local dealer has a nee 2025 Tacoma (cloth seats not sure in trim) its priced right at $50k msrp. You gotta be kidding me. Tundras and sequoias priced 70-80k msrp. Siennas over 50k msrp. It's not just ford, toyota is going insane too. I don't care if it's a toyota or not that's just pathetic.
Your headline 'Sales are Declining Fast,' but that not's the case with most OEM's if you look at official Q1 sales numbers. Price reductions do not necessarily mean declining sales.
It's called about 30 plus percent real inflation in the past 3 years combined with high interest rates.
Looking at these videos wrt new car pricing just motivates me more and more to make my existing, paid off car last forever. I think my existing car might be my final car.
I've convinced myself of the very same thing.
Not seeing it.
A few years ago my Ford dealer had a gas F250 XLT for just under 80K. You can get that truck now for around 62K. I think 62K is still overpriced but that better than 80 which was insane.
Keep looking, or change the manner in which you're looking. On the used side, I'm beginning to see a lot of improvement in listed/asking prices (for the vehicles/segments I look at).
Who in their right mind would think that a $1700 discount on a jacked up $43000 car price, on a constantly depreciating liability, that loses at least 10% driving off the dealers lot, is a "deal"?
Especially since so many people only look at monthly payments instead of the total cost of the car.....it's just insanity. Couple that with the rising cost of everything and the unknown future cost increases in insurance, food, housing/property tax, new fees and assessments and taxes......The whole auto industry is just a wealth transfer.......
I am working a deal on a 24 4Runner TRD ORP .So far got them down $2000 off MSRP of 47,130
Some moron dealers selling used cars 3 years old saying it’s 10 K below msrp
im like what? How can u even say that? Its used go by the actual used value
The prices are still too high and the interest rate is too high and the insurance is too high. I believe there needs to be a congressional look into the insurance fleecing for cars and homes. I may be able to afford a car or home, but the insurance is now restrictive.
Insurance is going up because the US Insurance market paid out $35,000,000,000 more in claims than it took in in REVENUE! Not profit, not net, gross. And a large part of that was government regulation, particularly CA, that's why everyone is pulling out. On the upside it means everyone else doesn't have to keep footing the bill for Cali being rere once those loses are made up for.
I went to audi to quote me for trading in my lease to lease a new audi. I only have 10k miles on it. Well as you guys showed prices in the last few years went up 20 to 30 percent. So they are cutting prices 10 percent? BIG deal. Still 20 percent higher. Now inflation went up in the same period 10 percent? So another 10 percent price cut needed to get back 3 years ago pricing.
Your pops didn’t have a Covid to deal with when he was selling vehicles. It was a whole different world then Zach also what we’re dealing with now is way over inventory. How are they supposed to perfect that uncle J. Powell has raised the interest rate so high that it almost makes it impossible to buy a vehicle at 10% interest. Do you have no choice but the lower the prices if they want to sell one we’re in a crisis man inflation is through the roof. It’s totally unacceptable to pay $50,000 for an average vehicle. Nobody could do that you know 70% of the people live week the week so you’re selling vehicles to 30% of the country. How many vehicles do you need?

These reductions are not very impressive. Last month RAM and Ford held a "truck month" , and on the trucks they were able to go $8K+ under dealer invoice. It makes no sense to only lower a mini van or a jeep $2k, that is laughable. The only shortage these dealers currently face are customers.

My situation may be different but I believe there is not enough upside for me, even if I had to re-power mine I would be better to keep it.
I " assume " :D you meant . "There IS enough upside for me " in the last sentence . Sounds like you did good ! I have a 22 truck but as a 73 Y.O. I am looking for a nice ride for the road . I have bought Toyota's since 82 , but I have heard generally good things about the 300 . I might look into one . Thanks for the reply . @@dalevalenti6552
Hi Ray, consider using Warm White LED lights, or similar incandescent.
What is the used car price savings as a percentage by holding off until June? Does this apply to in demand cars like the RAV4 Hybrid?
Interest rates are high. Prices are high.
That’s all what it is. They’re building very few of what I’m seeking and the competition is high for a full-size, quiet, comfortable, reliable sedan with good performance and handling for under $40k.
I decided to go for a used v6 Highlander limited with only 80K miles on it.
A one owner, in excellent condition for a little over 20k out the door. In my book this is a more than a 50% discount with a lot of miles left on this suv. New this SUV was over 42K MSRP in 2014, and when you consider inflation since 2014 it's even a much better deal.
Good price , as long as the service record is good .
What about used cars available from 2020 to 2023, are those prices coming down too? Great information on your videos!
Ran across an interesting Ford Lightning incentive ad recently. It appeared to offer current Tesla owners an additional $1500 off the price of a new Ford Lightning! It didn't say that you had to trade in your Tesla just be an owner. Wish I would have paid more attention to it so I could relocate the ad and make sure of what I think I saw. If true, that's an interesting way to tap into the largest EV community if they are needing a truck and either don't like the Cybertruck or not willing to wait a few years!
Not seeing it at Audi. I’m looking to buy a new Q7 and my dealer’s website has plenty of 2024 vehicles and 2025 models in transit. Unfortunately they are still pricing at MSRP plus no value/high margin dealer add-ons.
Any news for Volkswagen? (2024 Atlas Cross Sport) is it good to buy now?
Prices are still too high. About 30% too high
Still can't justify paying those reduced prices
the problem isnt even the price of vehicle for me ist the fact you end up adding an extra 3-4k for fees and taxes on top
How can I unload my leased Jeep GCL, 2023, 5,000 miles. My husband has such a hard time getting into it.
A buyer's market for a new car, unless you are looking at a Toyota/Lexus or even Subaru, which are still on the way up. In Canada a mid-level Lexus model MSRP was just raised this week (April 2024) by $1800! With increases with other models likely to come.
How much repositioning is possible when considering increasing labor costs?
Word of the day 'REALITY'
I've been wanting to get a used car for months now, but I see minor changes in the market. Still not a buyers market unfortunately.
Only Toyota doesn't seem to have a problem. Try finding to buy a Sienna. Some dealerships have stopped taking cash advance since they can't get any Sienna's.
A Honda dealer's lot near me is overflowing. Haven't seen it that full since pre-Cov**
My brother in law just leased a Honda. His friend is a friend of the honda dealership owner. he was told that car manufacturers are "Fronting" the cars to dealers for 45 days. In other words: the dealer doesn't start paying for the car and is not on their floor plan for 45 days. Anyone else hear this? This Honda dealer is in central NJ and claims sales are slow but they are moving inventory. MSRP for the cars, no discount, no markups.
So why are prices still too high?
They can Rot Overpriced junk They can thank the unions and the fed … 18% off on a Jeep that’s marked up 48% 😂
Fortunately under 44k come on..seriously?
