PHEW! THAT WAS A HIKE BUT I THINK IT CAME OUT SUPER SWEET!! I got to work with old faces and some really new and I think they all did wonderfully don't you? I was blown away by the standard of work you guys made in such a short time and you should really show your support by subbing them!!
This MAP had set restrictions that people had to abide by to help push them out of their comfort zone and they were:
1-Week time-limmit
-25 frame limit
-1920 x 890 aspect ratio
-No shaky-cam
-Always include background animation
-No absolute black or white
It was really interesting to see what people struggled with and what they did to overcome obstacles! I hope it helped you to think about the process!
I ran into a few issues with parts cut to the wrong length and some pacing issues so if I've added a zoom or cut down your part slightly I'm very sorry! Parts are a piece of a whole and I've tried my very best to present your work the best way I can! It's been a pleasure to work with you all!
As for the MAP itself? Squirrelflight is my favourite character and I think this was written as my love letter to the journey she went on as a character. It's been wild to see a spunky little apprentice grow into a mature cat. I think perhaps she turned out to be quite a role model after all.

I never liked Squirrelflight. She was annoying and bratty as an apprentice, and kinda kept that as she grew up. When I learned the secret that she lied about her kits, I hated her even more. I was so conflicted about who's side to be on, Squirrel's, Leaf's, Ashfur's, Holly's, etc... But watching this for like the 20th time, I've come to a realization. Squirrelflight is a real character. She isn't perfect by any means, but she is kind and loving. She made a big mistake, and screwed up bad. She wanted to protect Leafpool, that's all she wanted. And when she revealed the secret, she wanted nothing more than to protect the kits who she loved like they were her own. All she wants is to protect those she loves, and in that regard, I actually feel for her. I understand now, that she just wanted to protect those around her. Did she do it in the wrong way? Yes. But that is what makes her an amazing character, not that she's dramatic or has a loud personality. What makes her an amazing character is that she made a mistake. And she paid the price in the end, losing her mate, and her adopted kits' respect.
So thank you for hosting this MAP Cola. I truly appreciate you opening my eyes to such a wonderful character.

I agree. I never liked Squirrelflight, and I don't think I ever will. She just isn't that cool of a character to me. But, like you said, this MAP brings out the STRUGGLE and the pure HUMANNESS in her. She has been through so much, like Feathertails death at such a young age, then sacrificing her love with Brambleclaw for her SISTER. And even then, when her adopted kits were on the edge of death, all she wanted to do was save them. The scenes where Squirrel sees that Holly has killed Ash, and the scene of Firestars death just bring out her pain and it's something I can RELATE to. She is just a cat, making mistakes and trying to do the best she can. She'll never be my favorite, no, but I'm sure I won't look at her the same way again.
I'm starting to feel bad for all the new warriors fans who suddenly realize that they have so many books to read if they're going to understand half of these maps.

Maria A I only read to the first book of the second season (?) because these books suck ass. The fandom is very talented though, so I pay attention to the maps and shit, and I know pretty much everything that happens up until Firestars death.
Erin hunter sucks at writing though and the characters are all dry and bland and mildly over powered so I stopped reading. The fandom is also full of 8 year olds, but there are a few fans are pretty good at art and animation so I linger.

Squirrelflight with baby Hollyleaf gets me every time. The only thing I really dislike in the Warriors series is how the three end up completely ditching Squirrelflight when they find out she's not their mother. Like, she still raised them. I would have liked for her to still be involved in their lives.
They will mad and hurt about the truth but she still raised them and she was still their family
I hate it because even after they forgave her they still were hardly in each other’s lives. I get that they were upset at first but like I don’t get why they didn’t heal the relationship more after they forgave.

yes! It would have made jayfeather, lionblaze, and hollyleaf better characters. Also I really wish Hollyleaf was in the prophecy it made me kinda mad when she wasn't and it's dovewing instead
if i were one of the three i would have forgiven her on the spot as there was nothing to forgive. Yes she lied that she was their mother but she cared for them as her own. family is the people who love and care about each other not those that just give birth to each other.
I feel like Squirrelflight was cheated by StarClan. Yellowfang came down to tell her that she would never have kits of her own and she had to raise Leafpool's. But Yellowfang full out lied! It was unacceptable of StarClan to lie to Squirrelflight, just so she would raise Leafpool's kits. But then again, I've always admired her for not complaining about having to raise Leafpool's kits, and not getting angry with StarClan. If I was her, I would have lost it. I think Squirrelflight is the best role model in the books. Yes, as an apprentice she was bratty and rude. But when she became a warrior she became more responsible and would do anything for her clan and her sister. She is easily one of my favorite characters for these reasons.

But Yellowfang had to or else Squirrelflight would never had agreed on taking care of the kits and the kits would have probably become rogues if Squirrelflight didn't take them so it was her only option she probably wouldn't have lied if Squirrelflight agreed at first because when Leafpool tried to convince her she declined

Sometimes I feel like I don’t get the same feeling I did when I started Warriors. That feeling of love and joy between all of the characters. But whenever I watch this video it makes me remember how incredible of a feeling that really felt.

I feel the same. I started with Dawn of The Clans, and then The New Prophecy, then the first series. Even though I didn’t understand what was happening most of the time when I was starting out, it made me feel something. That feeling is so distant to me now, but I remember being sad because I couldn’t go to the library and take out the next book until the next day. Warriors is special, that’s for sure.
Yeah. I hope they can bring back that magic somehow, because I was so excited to re read the series and I realized it wasn’t as good as I remembered and I kinda ruined it for myself :( man I miss first reading the first few series
the new prophecy and all the series that come after I think they kind of lost the magic feeling . Just my opinion 💚

I feel like Squirrelflight didn't deserve to be disowned by everyone she knew for being a loyal sister. She's spunky and sometimes annoying, but it keeps her joyful and light-hearted. I love her for that.

I've always been fond of Squirrelflight.
She was a tough, head-on character with a connection to another main character. She was genuinely an inspiration, even though she was a cat.
When I read that she'd lied to everyone, I wasn't the slightest bit upset. All she was doing was staying true to something mentioned countless times by different cats. She believed in blood over code.
All she was doing was helping her sister, a sister who she still loved despite said sister making a huge mistake. She didn't truly betray her clan, nor did she betray her own sister. She just wanted to stay true to everyone, even though she did so by lying.

In my eyes, i've always loved Squirrel`flight,
as a apprentice, she was "annoying" to a lot of people, but I loved the way she evolved from a "annoying" apprentice to a really good character.
Shes inspiring because she KNOWS Leaf`pool broke the code, but helped her sister anyways, and raised Jay`kit, Lion`kit, and Holly`kit. Even though she knew she should get caught and serious trouble, maybe even exiled..

Squirrelflight has been my favorite character always, but when I found out that she had lied to her mate, her adopted kits, and to her whole clan, i started to actually like her even more. It truly shows the ever lasting bond between a family.I admire Squirrelflight, for making a mistake, and living up to it. She paid the cost for a mistake that she made in the past, but didnt deny it. Squirrelflight is a true example of a true character. She will forever still be my favorite character.

Squirrelflight seems to be a very light hearted, boisterous, over-confident character. Which is why she wasn't one of my favorite characters, where as I loved characters like Firestar, Jayfeather, and Moth Flight. But watching this video reminded me and showed me just how much she suffered through. She's stubborn and annoying, but that's part of what brought her through the tough times and the necessary lies involving Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf. And then, finally when she got everyone's respect back, her sister's kits forgave her, and Bramblestar took her back- she still lost two kits because she was a bit old to have her first litter. She is truly a beautiful, strong, loving character and she deserves to be viewed better. Thank you for this video, I love it.

Mr. PT yes, she's come a long way from the stubborn, over excitable apprentice, who insisted on following Brambleclaw onto a journey. And I'm glad she's no longer the annoying, stubborn cat who refused to see Brambleclaw's side when they were divided over Hawkfrost. Granted, she ended up being right, but she didn't have to push him away. I'm proud of who she's become. I was shocked when she became deputy, but I see now how much she deserves it.

So, with this map, it reminded me how much i love this one character, she reminds me of my favorite character before her, which was her mom, Sandstorm. The annoying apprentice, who becomes a great warrior. But Squirrelflight suffered so much, she did things for the cats she loved, a very selfless cat, and i love that about her, shes a true character, that i ALWAYS love reading about even as an apprentice, with Brambleclaw, they had me on the ground laughing. Squirrelflight would be an amazing leader in my eyes, shes like Firestar, but like Sandstorm as well. And now i want a cry after this map, thank you for hosting it, this has earned my approval.
I will NEVER understand why some people hate Squirrelflight. She's a character I can love because of the way she changed through the series. She left behind her childish nature, and grew into a fiercely loyal, mature and spunky she-cat. She took up responsibility for her sister's mistake and she stood by her choice. She isn't perfect by far, but she is definitely one of the best females in the books! All around beautiful MAP BTW.

When Squirrelflight looked up with horror as Hollyleaf turned away and after Hollyleaf revealed Leafpool and Bramblestar rejected Squirrelflight I nearly made a flood out of crying.This is amazing! I enjoyed Squirrelflight and her energetic character from the start, even when she nearly broke up with Bramblestar in The New Prophecy. She was seen as a immature and childish character by a lot of people - but ahem?! All apprentices are clumsy! She was PROVED a mature and most importantly a fierce cat when she hid Leafpool's being a mother. She had enough courage to hide it from her father, her mother, her niece and nephews, and her mate. Talk about a fierce feline! I love how Squirrelflight wasn't a typical damsel in distress. Guess she picked up the trait from Sandstorm. If you read Crookedstar's Promise, you know his mate Willowbreeze was a damsel in distress. She reminds me a bit of Bluestar, since Bluestar was fierce and never wailed pitifully for Oakheart when he died. I feel like she grieved for Oakheart more than Redtail. Squirrelflight is my favorite character, after Bluestar. Squirrelflight is a TRUE role model.#TeamSquirrelflight

This map was a roller coaster of feelings. Every point of view in Squirrleflight's chapters was so vividly written and had so much feeling, and this MAP is just brought all of them back. Squirrelflight had to make some very difficult decisions in her life, such as defending her kits from Ashfur, and deciding to take in Leafpool's kits in the first place, and then lying to her own mate, Brambleclaw! that is some true dedication. And to never regret any decisions makes her such a strong character. The last two pictures at the end of the MAP, the one with Squirrelflight giving a watery smile and then crying, that struck home. This map is so beautifully illustrated and thought out, it seems like is was designed to tug on my heartstrings. All the illustrations are beautiful and everyone did wonderfully. Squirrelflight is definitely fit to be deputy, and lets hope she become leader in the future! Squirrelstar for the win!

When I was younger, I think this was one of the only WARRIORS Maps that brought tears to my eyes. Years later, and the feeling of crying is still there. That's how I know this MAP still has ahold of my heartstrings.

you probably wont see this but oh my god thank you SO MUCH for choosing to host this map 6 years ago i love it so much.... a few years back when i watched this map for the first time it was also my first time ever hearing of monsters and mens music and ever since king and lionheart has been one of my favorite songs, a year ago i decided i should listen to the rest of omams music and oh my god its one of the best decisions ive ever made?? im autistic and omam is one of my special interests now i listen to them as much as i can, i love their music so so much, and without the work of you and the extremely talented animators of this wonderful map i never wouldve even discovered this band, so thank you 😭!!!!!!!!!!!!! your map is so so so so amazing. just absolutely wonderful

Absolutely beautiful map! The animatioms match perfectly with the beat of the song and it gives me chills every time I watch it.
It actually kind of makes me feel for Squirrelflight in this map since I didn't appreciate her much in the books because of her first annoying feel. But she really is an amazing character.
This really made me think on how hard of a life squirrelflight had when she became a warrior and know I truly understand what she went through thank you so much everyone that made this map I appreciate it

One of my least favorite things is when people trash on the young cats that "are so annoying". It's like a human kid. They aren't fully developed, and that will lead to not thinking before acting. You can't complain about a character being annoying when they're meant to be that. I get if the cat is grown up and still acts childish, but if it's a young cat, then people need to stop being so picky.

Ever since i found your Buy the stars, I had always just? Really admired every map, animation you had done?? It's a complete honour to now be in one of them myself-- I would have never thought this a year ago ;o;
Just like everything other map you did, this came out so wonderfully!! Each animator did a fantastic job on their part and the way you put them all together made it u l t i m a t e. Seriously though, thank you for holding this Map and accepting me into it, the fEELING FOR THIS ONE MAKES ME JUST.. (clenches fist) it's so beautiful ... I honestly liked it. Darktail is a great villain, and Shattered Sky was just.. damn.
@@AppleBloomer1 yeah, I wanted to like it but somehow it just... didn't draw me in. All of the point of view characters feel like they're only observers to all the big decisions (at least in book 6), which makes me wonder why they're PoVs. And it switches between clans and PoVs too much to really get attached to any one group of background characters or settings or... anything, really.
That said, I think the series had similar problems in arc 2 and maybe they're just going through a rough patch for now/maybe it's more of a "transition" arc. It sounds like they're setting up some pretty good plot points/characters for arc 7, with shadowkit and the premise.
But yeah.
I think it also didn't help that, after a two-arc-long epic battle of drama over starclan and implications of the beings beyond, we got practically nothing whatsoever relating to the lore, and hardly any prophecies/things that really seemed to hold the fate of anyone in the balance. Skyclan getting to the gorge was important "because it was", and not because anyone needed it-- even though they totally could have set that up with mothflight.
So while I can see it setting up future plot, I agree that it feels like filler.
At first I just liked Squirrelflight a bit but then when I read more books where she was in, I found a really caring person who did so much for her sister and the ones she loved,even by lying to the whole Clan , she was so brave to do that and that’s why she is one of my favorite characters.
This MAP turned Squirrelflight into one of my favourite characters of all time. Her story feels so real and I think this MAP does a fenomenal job at telling it.
Also, the ending always makes me tear up a bit.

This turned out SO SO BEAUTIFUL HOLLY! I wish I could have been a part of it, but I missed when the MAP call went up ;; MAYBE NEXT TIME. It's absolutely beautiful though, everyone did great, it flowed so nice and I really love that ending. That gave me goosebumps. GOOD STUFF

Cola, you always have the most beautiful maps, sometimes there not even songs. You always choose the best animators and songs with the most suitable characters. Every single one of your maps, I almost cry, every time. I’ve noticed how popular some of these parts have become. I feel like everyone in your maps puts so much effort to make just about 6 seconds of animation some of the most beautiful things ever. I would spend as much time as I was given to make my part beautiful if I was given a part to your map.

I havent Read all of This Ark Yet, but i know about it, and while I was watching this map, the entire way through i just felt a rolarcoaster of emotions. ecpecially at the end, the flash through of everything! and at that smile, i couldn't help let tears flood down my face, not sadness, happy tears. if u have read all of this, i dont know how anyone cant feel for squirrel, and leaf, and even bramble tbh. She is one of the most built on character in my opinion, and this map just explains her entire life, her emotions at times, how she dealt with it, it just explains squirrelflight! i dont know how a video can do all this in only 4 minutes. i dont think i will every forget this map, its one of the best i have ever seen, actually, no it IS the best i have ever seen, i cant express enough how i feel about this! i hope u do more of these, if u think im not subscribing, just re read this comment, OF COURSE IM SUBBING!! just thank you for making this,

This is beautiful animation to be honest I never liked squirrelflight because of probably specific reasons. But this inspired me for her to be my FAVORITE character. GAVE ME CHILLS
I love Squirrelflight so much. She is a very strong and brave character, she has gone through so much. She lost her friend Feathertail, got cheated by StarClan by being forced to take the kits, having to deal with Brambleclaw/star's abuse, losing Hollyleaf, losing two of her kits, seeing Abusivestar(Bramblestar) flirt with Jessy, then just trying to help SkyClan and being abused even more by Bramblestar, then the whole Ashfur never moving on. And then she lost Leafpool because Bramblestar didn't want to be smart, all he cared about was proving to Squirrelflight she was 'less' then him and winning the argument. She deserves to be Squirrelstar more then Abusivestar deserves to be leader.
Actually she chose to take the kits for Leafpool but yeah

I have been reading 'Warriors' since I was in 1st grade. (I'm in 6th grade now.) And when I first watched this, I was so confused on who SquirrelFlight was, or Bramblestar/claw. But now I'm here, watching this amazing video again, understanding the video all the way.
I'm at arc 6 or 7 now (The Broken Code) and I look back, and... I miss them. Firepaw, Bluestar, and everyone else... Even Tigerclaw. Everything has changed so much since I've started reading this series. I've realized how it must be like, to be a cat. Or someone who is deeply in love with another.

Coming back to this video years later makes me so happy. This was my first warrior cats related thing I ever saw, which got me interested in the fandom in general. Getting involved with warrior cats is what sparked my love for drawing. This map will always have a special place in my heart 🤍🤍🤍

Was a great warrior and should be mention as the great warrior because she improve by first mistake and gift in the end. She lost everyone trust even their bodies.
Her strength is like stronger among the others, the confident and hopes is her strength. She learn from the past and reincarnate her mistake to an inspiring end.

I know I commented on this video very recently, but I feel a lot of fond bittersweet feelings watching this MAP. I remember when I loved Warriors watching this MAP for the first time. I was off being free and stupid in the Warriors fandom. I remember this song and MAP inspired many OCs. Even if it was cringe, I miss it all. The Warriors fandom isn’t at its peak anymore. It’s actually going down, so it tugs at my heartstrings watching projects made during these eras in the Warriors fandom. Gosh I feel old lol

I love this map! Not only for its amazing animators but for everything! Including the song. Every time I watch it, it reminds me of my ocs and the struggle Starrysky, my main one, went through. How she went from such a young kit with so much fear to a lion hearted she-cat who would do anything for those she loved. She and Squirrel remind me of each other because they both went through so much and how at the end they both were strong enough to face it despite everything. And the king stuff makes me think of Duskfur (my oc), and how he was always held on a pedestal and Starry felt second best but stood by his side like Squirrel did to Bramble.
Awwww squirrelflight is my favorite character I’ve watched this video a million times it makes me cry every time I just cry seeing all her memories and her relationship with my second favorite character brambleclaw!!!

It hits me that Lionblaze, Jayfeather and Hollyleaf started to dislike Squirrelflight after finding out the truth, I know that every child deserves parent and our trio got them and they could even have contact with their real mother and father(even if he was in Windclan)and I know that they had law to be mad, but in my opinion it's so unnaturally to suddenly turn out against someone who took care about you since you were born.
Squirrelflight and leafpool are my favorite sister duo in the series. Their connection is so crazy, I can’t believe that Squirrelflight did that. I haven’t read all the books, but enough to understand this crazy series. The way that these animators revealed these characters is so moving, bc each animator added their own touch to it. I love this video, it’s definitely a great one. Tysm for making it. Chances are, I’ll add on to this later😊

I would understand if Squirrelflight died before Bramblestar. I mean, he had 9 nine lives to begin with, so she’ll probably be dead by the time he loses his last one. But!!- don’t you think it would be better for her to die and meet Bramblestar in StarClan after he loses his nine lives rather than get her nine lives and live each one without him? Think about their love! That’s why I wouldn’t mind if she died. Plus, she would get to see her mother, father and Hollyleaf.
I'd like it a lot if her and Ashfur met when she passed and he apologized for everything he did and understood that she loved him as nothing more than a close friend

I actually wish that Squirrelflight becomes leader. Now that there's a super edition coming. Which is called Squirrelflight's Hope. And yes, if she would become leader then it would have been Squirrelstar's Hope. But then I say: Tigerheart's Shadow. Also, think of how emotional it would be if Squirrelflight or Leafpool died.

I liked squirrelflight a lot before, and after the map. I saw straight through Brambleclaw(star)’s bs. I saw him as impulsive and pushy. When she became deputy, I was so proud of the firey girl! When she had her kits too, so proud

I remember this was the first Warriors MAP I ever saw and it was before I had read any of the books. And I was extremely confused. Now, coming back after I’ve read all the books this is very cool to watch and go “I rEmeMbEr ThIs”
I just happened to see this MAP in my recommended today. Years ago, when it was new, I loved and cherished it. Seeing it again brought back my not long gone childhood.
I watched it, just for old time’s sake!
What I wasn’t expecting was to be so aggressively pushed back to my childhood. Watching this video over and over again, under blankets at night. Drawing with it in the background, inspired to do what I loved. I wasn’t expecting to be thrown back to times where I smiled so brightly at the mention of these books.
It brought me back to sitting by my ancient pool in the brilliant sunshine, excitedly showing it to my best friend for the first time.
It hit hard seeing it again. Memories rushed back, sending me mentally sprawling. By the end, tears were streaming down my face in bittersweet trails.
This, along with the Buy The Stars MAP, got me through hard times. All I can say, is thank you for bringing it to us in the first place

I honestly feel bad I *HATED* Squirrelflight but i have realized that she really was just trying too help and protect her family and Clan yeah she did it in the wrong way but she really is a good character i *REALLY* didn't like all she did but eventually i realized that she was... just trying too help. I hated her... and i feel bad for. And I love this MAP so so much it helped me open up too a wonderful character... thank you so so much you deserve all the subscribers and likes..

dang this is so old now.... this map and this song literally influenced me so much with my own stories and it’s so weird coming back all these years later and being in a completely different place and just pretty much remembering the beginning of everything
