Not got any Acurascale - These look awesome! Hope the best for them as companies like this and Rapido's entry into teh market is what the UK model rail industry needs to move it along. Was gettign a bit stale with just Bachmann and Hornby (As much as I love the recent tooling Hornby coaches I have)

It’s very cool right! It’s made by Accurascale of the UK!

Do you think that the problem you have with the lights is because the voltage you have in the US is lower than the UK. The set will not have a problem with the lights in the UK so the best solution is to move. Then thinking about the track, you have the track mounted on a base whereas layouts in the UK use either Peco or Hornby track and you can choose if you use a track underlay to lessen the noise.

;) Do you want me to move so you can come over and play with my trains? ;) An interesting idea, but probably not the issue. The voltage going to the track isn't 110/220, it's DCC-regulated voltage which is anywhere between 14.6v and 16.2 bi polar. As such, it doesn't matter where you are in the world and what the voltage coming out of the socket is. Also, LEDs are current regulated when they're within their operating range and there's more than enough amperage coming through the tracks to hold them up. The Dapol's brightness is fine, so it's definitely a choice on Accurascale's part.

Nice review and running session !!! I just don't get why manufacturers make such junk and want a lot money for it...

It’s going to be an interesting hobby in the next few years. Something’s gotta give eventually.

@@DoctorHobby I agree, even the former almost bulletproof Märklin rolling stock is so super detailed with all kinds of digital functions that nobody ever uses that I will continue to purchase older rolling stock that is working and holding together. For me, model trains are for running reliably, not sitting in display cases…

£225 for four coaches and a driving trailer with these features is about 50% of current prices in the UK and bear in mind this is accurascales FIRST coach

@@mccarronfamily I'm not familiar with the manufacturer, but If I would get something that doesn't work, it will go straight back to the vendor. I recently had an issue with a new Marklin locomotive, and the dealer sent me a return shipping label, repaired the loco under warranty, and returned it now working perfectly: ua-cam.com/video/vHWgRcOytMI/v-deo.html.
That's what I call "standing behind a product"...

@@mccarronfamily In contrast to that, I recently received a rather expensive REE steam loco that kept derailing over my switches. Both the dealer and manufacturer claimed that it is my layout's fault, as the loco is not built for running on tight curves: ua-cam.com/video/woOFkpHlepE/v-deo.html. That's a great example of how not to support a product. Needless to say that this is probably my first & last REE product I have bought...
