I love how the door opens and House looks up like he's a deer in the headlights, and then he just goes back to dumpster diving lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You forgot foreman dude lol they both look like deer in headlights except that foreman didn't know what the fuck to do and then when the dude charges in he looks visibly concerned and it looks at everybody else. Not sure who to tell to stop who. Lmao
This is too accurate

@@daleshelden8394 it’s called dark humor. Get over it.
You have to love how often House is right about diagnosis and yet the other Doctors keep ignoring his instincts like he is a crazy person.
Came down here to the comment section to say exactly that. Glad to see I wasn’t alone in this thought.
What’s funny is House was literally hired to diagnose patients that have mysterious or complex conditions and they never believe him.
Well you have to understand that the cases he gets are those that lie around the 5-10% range so you can't blame them especially since they've done differential diagnosis already
Foreman did believe him, that's why he let him check her.
He’s also wrong more times than he’s right and puts a lot of people at risk. However, sometimes that needs to happen in order to find the right answer
I can tell a true story about tick paralysis. My friend had to leave work because his 14 year old daughter started have neurological problems and their family DR sent them to a specialist, on the way she became paralyzed. He called me because he needed me to cover for him at work and told me what was going on. Something I remembered reading in Readers Digest years before sounded similar. I told him to have her checked for ticks. That's what it was. She had long thick dark hair and they found it just under the hair line at the back of her skull. Once removed she started recovering in hours and by the next day it was gone. Got a case of beer from it.
damn, you saved a life just like that?
I read that Readers Digest too!!
14 year old daughter
My friend

The funny part is, the tick was *EXACTLY* where i thought it would be. But then i also thought that they wouldn't dare pull something like that in a popular TV show.... Well, i was wrong lol.
same here
It had to be for the episode to work. If the tick were in any of the usual places it would have been found. The fact that they didn't find it meant House knew it must have been in an unlikely location.
@@davidcox3076 plot twist she was on her period and it was thirsty
The title instantly made me think it'd be there for the most shock lol
I think I know where it will be but I haven't finished watching yet. I am only about three minutes in.
Edit: AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I WAS CORRECT!
Guys got hundreds of “unsolvable” cases under his belt, why anyone would have any large enough doubt to not at least try what he’s saying is insane
For drama bruh
Drama
There’s always a hater that doesn’t like your method
To put it in house’s own words: “He’s ALMOST always EVENTUALLY right” They have no idea when or even if an epiphany is coming, and the damage from the heart issue could be permanent.
Well he does have a viccodin abuse issue and suffers a severe detach from reality so yanno, if you saw Einstein walking down the street in New York talking to himself you’d think he was a homeless person
To make the show more dramatic
Wilson for the win in this episode... He recognized that House had the only viable diagnosis.....and that hes usually right ...gave him an opportunity to prove it. Otherwise she would have died. Best friends come in handy .... even though they are always fighting.
Second best show ever.
What’s the best show?
Kinda wish they didn't listen to house and the patient died only for house to tell the parents "i told you so" after presenting them with the tick... They almost always jump at whatever crazy diagnosis house comes up with even if it's incredibly dangerous and they have no ounce of proof, would be nice to see the buildup leading to that like a death or 2 from ignoring his diagnosis...

Must have been a nightmare for her. Dr House's staff are so stressed out all the time. 😂

@@peteranserin3708 It really is cool!
Makes you wonder if this is where they got the idea for “House.”
We had a guy come in to ICU, sick as a dog, ended up intubated with what seemed like a quart of blood drawn for an infectious disease work up. We literally had ice collars, ice packs trying to keep his brain from frying. I’m bathing the guy, he’s a little fluffy, and I’m thinking about where ticks like to hide - we’d searched his hair, “pits and bits,” couldn’t find an obvious insect bite. And I’m washing his stomach, and he’s got a belly button the size of a half dollar. So, I send someone to go get me a set of tweezers, and I start searching the crevasses in his umbilicus…and I found a huge tick that had found a nice warm, dark place and embedded itself….we’ll not blink at blood, vomit, secretions, but you say you found a bug on a patient, the whole ICU spends the rest of the shift going, “can you check my hair?” Patient was fine, lab figured out what the tick had, and the guy got the right antibiotics.
Ye, blood wont creep on you and trying to bite you.
That's swesome of you. A lot of folks wouldn't have checked that thoroughly. I'm very serious I think a lot of medical staff would have just let him die
I had one in the same place. Found it in the shower.
Surprisingly painful to remove.
That's absolutely gross 🤢. I hate ticks and bugs that feed on human blood . Cleaning a belly button is probably hard enough but trying to get a tick when imbedded isn't easy.
One time my brother and I found a tick on his dog. We removed it and killed it properly but the whole house spent the rest of the night itchy and asking each other "can you check my back?" Creepy crawlies!
Most improbable thing that happened, they had a elevator guy there in like 1 min...

BINGO SO TRUE
I’d like to think ERs have better maintenance than usual but I know better 😂
This whole series- he solves 99 out of 100 cases.
but nobody (with authority) seems to have a grain of confidence in him.
Because his methods scare the administrators
I think that is mostly in the earlier seasons (especially first season). Later on, Cuddy often protects House a lot actually
House isn't some seer who has prophetic diagnoses, he always investigates patients through numerous background checks, and trial and error treatments. They have to doubt him because medicine and treatments can also be harmful.
@@one-wingedangel5107 Nope. He totally is a god and i'm just asking them to have 100% confidence in him.
Bruh, read the room, will ya!
@@ottokarl5427 she protected him from season 1 onward, remember Vogler?
Need that level of confidence in my work which House has for his work.
Yes, this guy is a great actor.
It's very hard to.. I haven't seen most seasons so I am exactly not sure but he is either specially gifted or just a genius.
He's also a drug addict but,no one talks about that!lol
@@nimaanmi He's always been a genius in some episodes they said he was a amazing since the medic school
In almost every episode, House will tell them what's wrong and they won't believe him. Especially Cuddy. And when he proved he is right, they simply go back to the way things were. Was there an episode where House quits goes to another clinic and left Cuddy and his team alone with those unusual cases? Or maybe being in that clinic and tormenting his colleagues is way more fun for House.
That's how average people behave when they meet someone so much above them. They ignore it completely.
Well he's usually wrong with about 80% of his guesses, he always gets the answer at last minute but not before coming up with 4 other crazy ideas that would've killed the patient... Also doesn't help that he's an ass 99% of the time and his department also costs the hospital millions. As Vogler put it, his department is a black hole for cash. It's not profitable and ends up costing an average of one or two million dollars per diagnosis. If you also look at how many lives he's saved compared to a regular doctor it's most likely insanely low too just because he rarely takes cases and always chooses the hardest, practically unsolvable ones. Highly skilled doctor but nobody would really want to hire him unless they genuinely care about saving lives no matter the cost...
And in almost every episode House or the team get the first diagnosis wrong, and go to the last minute to figure out the real disease. House needs these people constantly challeging him and bringing out details about the cases, or even he could be wrong. Foreman for exemple always questions house, he likes to think inside the box while house thinks outside of it
@@immortaljanus lmao what? What a shitty, edgy comment. Everyone working with house are almost his equal in the medical field, and without them challeging house, every episode would have one diagnosis and the show is over
@@brunomartins115 house doesn't think outside the box though, he doesn't even use the damn box, he thinks above the circle in the next dimension lol.
You’d think after him being right every single week they’d start taking him seriously
Exactly, I thought the same thing. But no they always have to undermine him and his diagnostics 💔
But he's also wrong a lot.
@@lashedbutnotleashed1984 To be fair, most doctors are wrong a lot before coming up to the correct solution.
@@naiadollingthat is liturally how a diagnosis should work. It is abduction. You go for the simplest most likely exponation to the complex and barely imposible. And test your hypotheses in that order. Except you have to take into consideration that if its not A, but Z, you can cause death.

House is a great mind, not an all knowing god. Of course he needs tries and errord before he is getting to his final conclusion

Lol that's true
The show Monk was the same formula. You'd figure after his quirky ass saved 20 patients, they'd stop second guessing him.
Them fighting him is how he eventually gets the correct diagnosis.
he's wrong 4 times before he's right though. lol
He keeps them around (and is later showed he NEEDS them around) for him to get the correct diagnosis. They aren't just there to offer suggestions, they check him and force him to commit to his ideas. And he won't commit if he isn't confident in it.
loved how the mother was relieved once the tick was found
I do think Mom did believe House about tick when no else did. She was grateful at least.
Mother's instincts have often been right against doctors and naysayers with natural medicine and explanations
Cuddy seems to actively be trying to kill the patients in every episode
I think people who say this nonsense don't realize what her job position is... she's not House's employee, she's the chief administrator and Dean of Medicine. Part of her job is making sure doctors, including department heads like House, follow safety protocols and ethical regulations, both of which House regularly ignores or bypasses
The man who dared to look. Actually saved the woman's life. I'd throw a right jab at everyone after

I wish the world was full of doctors like House
Naah, you don't really. What you want is a lot of Doctors who are diligent and believe that "common things happen commonly", with a fine sprinkling of mavericks who will look for the really unusual.
You only want your trauma surgeons and specialists to be like House trust me. Also doctors are remarkably good diagnosticians. People complain about the tests and time it takes but forget House has a 333 batting average given what we've seen on the show. Just like House doctors sometimes need to know what something is not to know what it is.
from my years of watching house, it always baffles my mind as to why nobody just doesnt listen to him at this point
Even though I've seen this episode before, I still find myself holding my breath... damn good production.

I was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis, a tick borne disease. I thought I had the flu which I have never had. Started to feel better then it got worse. When I finally wound up at the clinic my heartbeat was 150 bpm, my blood pressure was something like 60/30, I was dehydrated, my kidneys were shutting down, my fever was around 103, my heart was in AFIB. I was told afterwards that if I had waited one more day I would have probably been dead. Spent five days in ICU and eleven days total in the hospital. Good thing I have good insurance, I wonder what that cost? Had to be over a hundred grand. I was living near Lyme Ct, you know, the town they got the name lyme disease from. Within five minutes of being in the ER, without finding any tick or evidence of a tick bite, they diagnosed it and were treating me that day for tick borne illness, they were just so used to seeing lyme disease
Just let him find it, I mean he's crazy...👀 on the other hand though he could be right.

Wow I did NOT know that was even potentially fatal in this modern age. But I suppose any condition can become fatal if we wait too long to seek medical attention. Few guesses where she hid the note. Reminds me of the classroom scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark when the student wrote on her eyelids.
