What is the best software for music production?
You may have asked yourself the question, like i did.
In the video I’ll discuss some things that can help you choosing your DAW
[2]
What is the best DAW?
The answer to that question may surprise you.
[BUMPER]
[3]
Welcome back, how are you doing? Marvelously well.
If you are new consider subscribing.
[4]
I want to give a shoutout to Pianogy for a very insightful comment in my video about RAM for music production.
He basically said that sampled instruments are taking up more memory than non sampled synthesizers
Thank you for that comment
Also If you can add something useful to the video for other viewers, don’t hesitate to do so in the comments
[5]
What is the best DAW?
I’ll start with the question answer it immediately.
The best daw is the daw of your preference where you can work the quickest and most comfortable with.
I can’t tell you which DAW to use, but I can give you some guidelines and examples on choosing the best DAW for you.
[6]
Don’t listen to anyone else who says you need to work with ….
Every DAW has its strengths weaknesses.
I can’t tell you which DAW is the best.
If there was one DAW that was the best for everyone, everybody would use it.
[7]
There are a couple of different DAWs out there.
I will name a few, starting off with the bigger ones:
FL Studio
Logic Pro X
Ableton Live
Pro Tools
[8]
Less famous are:
Studio One
Reaper
Cubase
But there are other DAWS out there
[9]
FL studio started out as Fruity Loops.
In 2018 they released a Mac version. So it is available on Windows and Mac.
FL studio has a bit of an image problem, because a lot of producers don’t take the software seriously.
FL studio does things differently and that’s why a lot of people don’t like it.
It has also the image of being free, but I have yet to come across a legal free version.
To be honest I have never tried the software, so I cant really say much useful about it
But when I look at the price of the full version, 900 euro, I think you have better alternatives for less money.
flirp

You know what they say... When one DAW closes, another opens.
whahaha, good one!
FL studio was my first DAW when I was just 14. I plan to take audio production very serious soon, so that'll probably be the one!
Music ly what type of fl studio do you use
The Logical Editor in Cubase lets you perform operations on whole tracks and objects in a Cubase project in one clean sweep! For example if you want to lower the velocity of all the hi hats in a midi drum track without changing the velocity of the other drums you can do it with a few clicks instead changing them one by one!
ah, today I learned something 😃
Thanks 👍
you can also do that in Ableton and FL
I started with studio one and one day had to work with cubase in a different studio...!! I loved it so much that I bought one copy after a month and never looked back !!! it's so easy to use and well organized !!! and man do I love the midi programming in that thing !!
thank you for your useful addition to the video
Not surprising. Studio One was made ex Cubase employees, so they share a bit of the same DNA.
PreSonus Studio One for zoom in press ctrl and turn the mousewheel make it brighter hit shift and ctrl and roll the mouse wheel no big deal for zooming ? and point the mouse there where you wanna zoom in
Pasquale Hey, if anybody wants a DAW like FL Studio, Ableton, Studio One, Cubase for literally free then message my instagram handle ruben_0215. I’ll explain to y’all why I’m giving it away for free if you actually want to message me and claim.
I'm a Logic user, and yes, the two things dragging it down are system overloads and the fact that lots of plugins no longer have a mix knob for some strange reason. Other than that though, I think it is probably the superior of the popular programs in design, functionality and overall workflow.
It costs very little, also!
I started with Cubase and have since moved to Ableton Live. I'm more than happy with it. It had a bit of learning curve at the beginning, but after that it's fairly straight forward.
How would you compare these two DAWs? I can't decide between those two. I mostly do vocal arrangements and LOTS of audio layering, looping, etc. Not much MIDI, mostly audio. And I work on Windows.
Cubase is a complete DAW for any type of music style. It's user freindlyness and main window's all in all editing make it the most useful DAW for the professionals. If you want unlimited options for music making then Reaper is the solution. But it's learning curve is a bit steep. First give some time to learn the basics of Reaper. After a while you will love it . The options i reaper are unlimited for a minimum price one could afford.
Would love to see a detailed review of studio one!
You should make production tutorials on basics of recording and mixing! You seem very educated and me and others would enjoy it alot
they are coming up in the new few weeks, subscribe to get the notifications :)
thanks for this video, maybe I'll give softsynths another try. back when I started making electronic music there was basically Fruity loops and then Ableton, which had the most depressing looking GUI I had ever seen and ultimately got me into hardware.
Reaper is affordable and customizable, but seems very confusing at first. Thankfully, it is always being improved and there a re a lot of in depth tutorials to get you up and running.
If it weren't for Reaper, I might not even entertain the notion of delving into music technology. All the rest seem too expensive to me. Not that they aren't worth it, but they are definitely a chunk of cash. I'm hoping to use my vacations to learn a bit more and use it professionally and not just as an amateur aficionado.
@shamanbear3 It seemed confusing to me at first, probably because I expected to do some things a certaing way (like deciding what kind of track I wanted beforehand). I plan to go through all of Kenny´s tutorials and try to get a better hang of what Reaper can do.
Yes and only for recording purposes and editting only I think it's a good beginner piece too.
If you have experience in computer programming or web design, Reaper is a dream come true. But if you don’t want to spend a vast amount of time learning to configure it, it may be worth seeking other options.
I find myself in Logic when I have a big project and don’t really know where it will take me.
Reaper is great for specialized work, where you know what you need and want an efficient, tailored for you, workflow.
I adore Reaper, but sometimes I don’t want to learn how to search for the question I need to ask the search engine to learn how to configure Reaper to my liking. You can always configure it, but figuring out how can take a hit out of your creativity while you would rather be playing with sound.
Reaper is great! And just in a matter of days I've managed to make some lit ass beats. Well it's all thanks to Kenny gioel & a couple of other people ✅
hi, i have found this vid very informative. thx & keep up the channel alive!
thanks for the support 👍
I appreciate it 😀
I’m partial to Studio One since I’m trying my hand at vocaloid production and it came bundled with a vocaloid and the vocal editor for about $200

I have Reaper, Reason, and Mixcraft. But using Studio One Prime convinced me that it was the DAW for me. It's like the best of everything IMO.
That was very helpful, thank you.
Acoustica Mixcraft is great. It comes with really good plug-ins as well as integrated Melodyne. And it's incredibly cheap compared to other DAWs.
ratatatuff runs CPU hard for me
Idk about other daws but Mixcraft seems like something for beginners and I can't make songs sound as good as people do with Logic or any other software ! Maybe it's just because I am not experienced :(
Thank you very much for your information. Your videos has been crucial for choosing our equipment. Very honest reviews!!
1985 called.......They want their user interface back. Thanks Bro, you made my day !
@@Annie-zd7mx It is. I tried Ableton and deleted it after a couple of hours. Managed to make a funky 2 minute track, sent it to a friend, and she said it sounded very 80's. Then I tried Logic, and I've never looked back since. Nearly two dozen project files in my Logic folder :)
Juicy Leek it’s alright
Thanks for sharing your experiences. O'm currently putting together my first studio, imac based. I think I will start with Garage band and or Cubase and go from there.
Garage band is perfect to start.
Free is never too expensive ;-)
Studio One by far. Its not perfect but it definitely has fewer weaknesses and also its far cheaper than its competition. The developers do listen to the users and develop actively.
thanks for the comment 😀
wait you have to pay for THESE?
@@t3npm678 yeah, you can probably find free versions of them but they are very limited
@@t3npm678 Lmao lmfao Lmao lMafao oh god hahahaha this gUy hahahaha
better than cubase?
Thanks dude, its really hard to start off with software like FL studio with absolutely no knowledge of music. this really helped :)
you could also take a look at my free daws video for more :)
My first DAW was Sony acid, very hard to use! So i decided to try Fl studio and the first day, i made my first loop and the second my first song, so easy to use, the interface is amazing and so well done, older versions had latency issues but the last solved it. For me it's the best
Great work bro'! Very informative. Very sound judgement.
thanks bro 😀
Thanks for the great advice. Go with one, learn the basics, you can always change later.
...awesome...SO real and frank...candid......many thanx !!
Great video. Thank you. Yes please make a Studio One tutorial.
Cakewalk by Bandlab is my top pick, the ui is excellent and it includes a ton of cool stuff free. Reaper is my next favorite pick, it is the lightest DAW with nearly zero problems and also includes a ton of free software.
Can you save on it
@@thudro9191 yes absolutely, both Cakewalk and Reaper are fully functional.
@NCS Cat indeed, I have used that as well. Typically just to upload what I make in Cakewalk though and not usually with the bandlab tools.
Are they free? Im an idiot so how easy is it for someone used to old four tracks? Does reaper come as a disc or download?

thank you for your kind words. I hope to contribute more in the future.
I'm always open for suggestions for improvements or topics
The prices you mentioned about Pro Tools are for the Ultimate version. The regular version of Pro Tools costs a lot less and has almost all the features of Ultimate except surround and number of channels. I've been using it for the past 15 years and I've tried all DAW's. In mixing territory there's no other like it, for music production you may be right but if you got some third party sw it's really powerful with the new implementations. About the bugs in Logic and S1 it's probably your system I use Logic and S1 here sometimes and never had those issues. About Studio One, I guess it really could be the only software nowadays that could make me leave PT for good I've been using it on some projects and the gap is narrowing down in each upgrade they release. So, I'm not sure if your review is accurate enough you should do a little more research and be a little less biased.
Why is PT best for mixing
I worked on ProTools and it was great. I also worked on Cubase and loved the flexibility of live, but I must say that StudioOne 4 pro is pleasing my needs in such a great way! It feels like they integrated all of the good stuff of all the DAWs above. I am absolutely happy with it and got the full version on black friday for 200 €
Hey thanks for your comment. I was wondering if the S1 zoom issue was for all users and you helped answer it. I run PT 8 on a Macbook Pro and use a Digidesign Digi 003. I would like to upgrade and was wondering if I should go with Pro Tools or S1? I don't have a mic preamp so I was thinking to get a Avalon 737 and or sound treat my room more. What do you suggest I do?
Thanks for being very practical in your review
Glad it was helpful!
I'm fl studio user since years but i decide to switch to studio one 4 thos days .Greeting from Algeria bro .🇩🇿
Logic has the best automated drummer feature for guitarist and other musicians that don't have a drummer or don't know how make their own beats for whatever reason
Thanks. The honest analysis. Best part, all are good. Learn your basics first. From the free version. And then go ahead.
I find all daws pretty fun but for some reason FL has my heart ♥️
thanks for the comment
Fl studio is my daw of choice.
Well, i started in 2000 with madtracker, then i tried fruity loops but i had an celeron so it was a little heavy for a celeron with 600Mhz cloclspeed!! Afterall i found reason very good stuff, when reason came to number 4 i got bored because it was the same thing so i decided to jump into fl studio 8, cool daw! after 3 years ableton live 8 came into my heart. I think that ableton is the most stable and simple daw!
I’m wanting to create edm, electronic rock, r&b, and hip hop beats (really don’t want to confine the type of music I make to any specific genre and i plan on branching way out). I also want to record audio and some external instruments. A big thing i don’t want to miss out on is any plug-ins/instruments to fully customize and contort the sounds to my liking. I also want learning the software to be as easy as possible/ not intimidating (but that’s not as important as sound customization). Any suggestions ?
demo them all, and the best one is the one you prefer to work with.
Thanks for info downloading Studio One free version now to get me started with in my Home Studio initial setup 👍
good luck! :)
I use Sonar VS-100 with a mixer/midi controller that came together with the software. The physical unit is quite impressive. The Cakewalk software is a tad primitive here and there, but it's got a ton of plug-ins. You could spend your life just exploring a major orchestra of instruments. It's a got a slight but occasionally annoying drop-out problem when you use a lot of small clips, but overall it's easy to use and you can certainly get excellent results with it. The unit and software together are very reasonably priced considering you also get a very nice desktop mixer.
thanks for your insights
Very helpful videos. Much appreciated.
you are welcome.
plz do share on social media :)
Super informational, thank you for very much for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Sir, will Logic Pro X work fine if I get a MacBook Air latest version
This was great review. ! thanks
thank you for watching
I went with Reaper because it was cheap and you could use it for free nearly indefinitely. Reaper has about 9 million UA-cam tutorials as well. Reaper did do some buggy stuff in my old computer, which was grossly underpowered for music production to begin with. I don't know how much of the erratic behavior was Reaper vs how much was my now deceased Dell all in one 3048. Once I get a desktop with an I-7 9700 and 16gb of ram up in here, we'll see how Reaper behaves.
I've used many, and IMO, that's the way to go. Have fun!!
So informative! Thank you.
you are welcome :)
Hey man what's your thoughts on Reason? I was also looking at KORG Gadget 2. I used to have a Maschine but faced some ugly problems with the UI resolution when I upgraded to 2.0 software. So I'm looking to get back into it to make more ambient/experimental sounds. Any thoughts?
no thoughts
I know 6 daws or so
but not reason
Well can anyone help me the pro tools says its going for only 30.00 a month and 259 a year what would i be missing and what would be included because he said 900 dollars i dont think id get the same quality
I love cubase it’s so nostalgic n familiar from school
Wow thanks of the in depth reviews of these softwares! It seems these are 'mainly' for creating music from scratch directly from the software (pulling up a piano, bass in the software to create, ect) Is there something you would recommend for having the instruments already played (live music), just wanting to slightly edit and upload? I understand these softwares are able to do that, but just wondering if there might be a different route to go. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing. Do you have any video talking about Maschine DAW from Native Instruments? I would like to know your advise. Thanks again.
no not yet. maybe in the future :-)
Hi I like your description, can you do studioone video?? On how to use it pls... Because I'm new on it I shifted from Cubase
thank you. I will take it into consideration
I can't connect with Ableton came into it too late and visually turn off. is there not a much easier colour by numbers daw as the old studio Making waves
not really, music production is hard... and also the software.
you can try garageband. it doesn't have all the options
Which FAW will you recommend for beginners in music making like me esp. In creating EDM, hip hip, disco, house, trap, and similar genres? I am currently eyeing FL Studio.
I have lyrics and a tune in my head and I want to sing the song into a software and have the software graph the sheet music for the song in various instruments and keys. Do you know of any software that is capable of such a task or at least heading in that direction.
Not directly but pitch correcting software recognizes pitches and can correct it if it's of
Logic has pitch correction capabilities otherwise you need a plugin like Melodyne (and any other DAW)
Studio One Pro has a basic version on Melodyne included
Thanks for the recommendations I know zero about music production but figure I have to start somewhere. I picked up the Studio One and will see where this goes, using a PC - Thanks.
you are welcome!
I produce hip hop on maschine II but it's too limited.. I'm looking for a DAW with a fast/intuitive workflow allowing customizing interface and shortkeys for me to work fast. Any suggestions ?
Cubase 👌
I am looking for a daw that support line6 pod farm and a usb midi keyboard. The only daw i can use for pod farm is audacity and reaper but in those programs i can't get my keyboard to work. Cubase is the only daw where i can use my keyboard but it does not work with pod farm even wile it came with pod farm. I feel like giving up and save a year again to get the fucusrite from scarlet. I am so depressed, think i go back to recording with cassette tapes again.
I see studio one as a combination of live and logic.
I´ve produced Death Metal on Ableton, love it... ProTools is great for mixing tho... The only one thing I see in Logic is the Drummer plugin (which should be a vst by now...)...
Yes, make a studio one video!
Even though this is late, I’m still waiting this. Really good explanation to some DAWs! Thinking of switching from FL to another DAW. FL in Mac is just so clunky.
If I would choose a new daw, I would choose Ableton
Very good info, thanks for sharing
Been using Acoustica Mixcraft for a while now. Very happy with how easy the UI is but can still perform complex tasks.
since its november and rekordbox 6 isn't still here, versios 7 seems highly unlikely
Dexxter Clark - DJ & Music Production tutorials I think you confused your reply with me and was meant for someone else?
I'm torn between FL studio and Bitwig. The live style effect racks of bitwig are really intuitive to me but FL has a large user base and lots of resources for learning. For a decent version (producer edition) FL is much more affordable also. I wish someone would compare the lower cost editions as a starting point because the functions that differ between these and the full versions can often be the difference between being able to achieve what you want and not
LMMS is free and available on Linux, Mac and Windows :) Not no mention lots of trackers from the 90's/2000's (can we say they are or are not DAWs ?)
please, give use some pros and cons of those packages
so people can go and look for those software packages with an educated eye
Well, I dont really use them regularly but here's what I can say :
*LMMS* lmms.io/ is a kind of Fruity Loops I would say and you have *Ardour* ardour.org/ who is close to Cubase, the two are Open Source and multiplatform.
_Pros :_ they feel like classic DAWs. _Cons :_ learning curve (not sure ;) )
Next to these you have another approach with the _Trackers_, coming from the 80's/90's on Atari and Amiga. The best one IMHO is *Renoise* www.renoise.com/ (not free but not really expensive and the demo version has quite the full capabilities) and *MilkyTracker* who is totally free milkytracker.titandemo.org/. These two ones are multiplatform. Many other trackers exist.
_Pros :_ easy to learn at first time, if you like the tracker format. These softwares are very light and *can be executed on old or small machines*. _Cons :_ The interface can feel very small at first sight.
Hope this helps ;)
@@jhice_fr whats the easiest, free or cheap for an old four track idiot?
Does studio one is good at remixing songs?? I'm new and looking for a best software that can remix songs, mashups and that kind of stuff..
I am a lover of all things FL Studio and I have used it for six years now.
but why FL studio, give us 3 pros 3 cons, so people take some value out of your experience
Thank you very much for this video.

is it possible to work with mp3 files only? when I import any mp3 the DAW convert it into WAV and it takes too much hard drive for each song. Thanks.
technically yes, but not recommended in terms of sound quality
@@DexxterClarkMusic thanks, what DAW can do this?
Damn we used Logic back in 1993, good to see it's still going strong although not a fan of Apple. Looks like they've made things so much easier for people now. You've got it so good.
What plugins do you recommend a semi beginner getting on studio one or FL studio 20. I have them both and I’m not sure if I should get third party plugins or stick to the premium ones that FL studio offers... they are all very expensive... I’m not sure about studio ones plugins either what are your thoughts? Thank you if you see this
pretty broad question.
I really like
Serum Synthesizer (hands down my favorite)
Fabfilter Pro Q (equalizer)
LFO tool
Kick 2
if you like you can look at 8:02 in video ua-cam.com/video/qvKx18frhDg/v-deo.html
I thinking of making another video about it
I will release a video this friday with my top 10 plugins.
If it's live, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/9qU9zCty9QE/v-deo.html
If you're still learning then FL Studio has everything you need. I wouldn't buy third party plugins until you're confident you can build a track with what you have. Then you can pour money into the fancy plugins. :-)
Can you put daw on a usb FlashDrive. That way i can plug the FlashDrive in another Pc that doesnt have daw so i can still record to make songs on either Pc.If i can download the daw on a usb flashdrive what kinds of daw i can use without being connected to the internet ?
Technically yes. If doubt if it would work on proper speed.
On a mac would be easier that windows due to the settings in the windows registry.
How well it works highly depends on which software you use
Great content very useful,thanks
😃
I am using FL studio 10 and the old version of cakewallk sonar DAW (version 3 and 6) because that DAW supporting soundfont sf2 instrumen and general MIDI sound from Roland
Can you record video along with the audio track? If so, in which DAWs can you do that? I want to upgrade my You Tube channel from what it is now, where I record different parts into a Ditto Looper and then end up with full cover songs but with kind of crappy audio, to a channel where I do full covers but the screen is split four ways or more, and you can actually watch me play all the parts, not to mention the vocals coming in full range instead of instrument speaker frequency response lol With a Ditto Looper, there is no mixing, editing, etc. so I've been doing it the hard way, and I really look forward to getting my interface and getting started recording the right way, but I need the recordings to have video too so I can split screen my stuff . . . what do I need in order to accomplish this?
I've never tried editing with a daw.
DAWs are generally made for music, not video editing, so I doubt that anyone does this.
Some DAWs (Studio One for example) support importing a video so you can score music to the video, but I think that's where it ends

Hi!
I bought the Zoom L 20 in Gjøvik Musikkhandel, in Norway .
I am very please that the sound is so amazing! I have recorded songs without the computer, and use SD Card, and stright from L 20.
But today i tried to connect the L 20 with the computer so many times. I download the software , Follow the UA-cam video instruction. But it will not work . I have Windows 10.
So do i have to use a DAW SOFTWARE with Zoom L 20 ?
Abelton Live will it works?
I need serious help and guidance on this !

Hi Ove,
if you want to do audio editing you can indeed use a DAW
I wish to arrange a home recording studio. I have FOCUSRITE 8i18 (2nd Gen) audio interface (support Ableton DAW ) and Yamaha MG20XU mixer with USB port. I need to use both hardware with a common DAW software. Can you prefer ONE DAW software for FOCUSRITE 8i18 and YAMAHA MG20XU mixer
Due to general drivers for your OS, hardware is not directly coupled to software in terms of compatibility (with some exceptions here and there)
I'm a former Presonus Studio One user for over 5 years and I just switched to Reaper, couldn't be happier... Less fancy but gets my work done quicker and easier

Fl studio for sure!!!
Do any of these have a load of preset samples to produce with? Or is there a place I can get a load of sample from easily?
you can buy samplepacks on beatport or splice
@@DexxterClarkMusic Perfect. Thank you.
I use Tracktion 'Waveform' the ONLY thing it won't do is multiple aux outs for the band's in-ear, everything has to go out just 1 aux. I don't know of any DAW's that will do this. Do you?
good one, don't know, never tried it.
But mostly you select 1 device for output, not multiple.
Maybe someone else knows??
You are Dutch, right brother? ;) I can hear your Dutch-English accent and I love it. I've been living in The Netherlands for years and I love Dutch people :) Got many friends there. Uitstekend video, dank u wel. ;)
Goed geraden, ik als nederlander had zijn accent ook al herkend.
Good guess, I as a dutchman recognized his accent as well.
take care my friend.
yeag that was obvious :)
As Dutch as a windmill ;)
You can change the size of the channels in live
I think one feature that ought to be discussed is the level of support offered by any of these firms. I’ve had a hell of a time exporting videos after syncing from Studio and their support had been very cursory and disappointing 😕
I agree with you on the studio one front.
I've mentioned it in my video 3 weeks ago
Have you tried Mixcraft? I think its one step under those DAW you said, but its cheaper also.
I like fl studios the best as it is super easy to create and arrange music in my opinion, I then would use pro tools for mastering the music
Great video thanks!
you are welcome, please share on social media if you like 👍
Very true what ur saying.
REEEEEAPER !!!!! 😂 ... 13mb install file, supersmall, thousands of functions, you can configure and adjust everything, superfast loading and when you are familiar with the shortcuts it is a highspeed working ... the guy who made reaper made also winamp :)
Free? How hard is it to figure compared to garage band?
More detailed video on logic pro x please. You asked me to leave this here
What do you thinknof propellerhead reason 10
well made! ty
thank you for watching :)
been trying out the fl studio trial version.. this is the first one I've tried.. I like it but the CPU lagging/overloading kinda concerns me as I experience it and my couple projects aren't even really that big.. does the fact that it's written in a different programming language and will "never be the fastest DAW" contribute to the CPU lag issue? I've watched videos about how to help this but do all DAWs have issues with CPU lag/crackling/overloading or just fl studio since it is written in a language that is harder for the CPU?
Yes and no.
Yes, it won't be the fastest DAW.
No, I don't think you will fix the CPU issues with another DAW.
You need a beefy CPU/computer for music production.
Things like reverb on a bus instead of every track and rendering out midi helps a ton.
A lot of beginners don't know this.
@@DexxterClarkMusiccool thanks for the info!
Hi, does personas studio come with drum instruments? And maybe other rock instruments?
Many thanks
There are some drum samples and a step sequencer.
To be honest, I don't use it
I went with Cubase Pro because it was very easy to get going and the layout is easy to navigate around. Like most DAW's though, the stock effects plugins are not all great but alternatives are easily available.
Good to hear from the 'other DAWs' category ☺️Which other DAWs did you try? Or was this the first? How long are you producing?
@@DexxterClarkMusic I started using fruity loops about 8 years ago. I then wanted to try Propellerhead Reason, mainly because I heard a lot of drum n bass producers used it back in the day as well as The Prodigy, and if it was good enough for them...
I tried Logic briefly but didn't like the layout and the work flow didn't work for me. Cubase Pro 9 is my current daw and I have to say, so far I am really impressed with what cubase has become. We'll worth getting.
Cubase has been around a long time.
A buddy of mine used in when I was in middle school.
I have never tried it. It is the spiritual predecessor of Studio One. Would be fun to look a the differences between the two
is this information about logic x still valid? that you cannot search for plugins or presets? I'm planning to switch from pc to mac and from mixcraft to logic in the near future, but I'm surpsised to hear about that!
still aplies like it's 1985 ;)
@@DexxterClarkMusic jesus! I don't get it it seems something so logical and easy to implement, are people not requesting it or what's the deal?
i'm up to daw number 4 right now !!
Like you said, the best DAW is the one you know how to use efficiently. Pick one and learn it well.
I use Reaper. It's inexpensive to start (free if you are really too broke to pay) and low cost to buy when you are ready. It's written in C so it's fast and very easy on RAM and CPU. It's is updated often. It has a complete scripting language. The interface can be changed to work like Pro Tools or other DAWs. It can take time to learn and configure but the payoff is very fast workflow. I hate the MIDI editor in it. Last, unless you invest in a good audio interface the lag in recording can be a challenge for beginners.
thank you for your useful contribution!
