Producing is just the tip of the iceberg. As a producer i find that the finding my sound part of the process is probably the hardest part. Then you have to learn to mix and master it to make it sound the best before u put it out for the world to hear it . Best of luck it's gonna be one hell of a ride. 😎👍
I'm so glad I came across this video! I absolutely know nothing about music production, songwriting, or playing instruments. But I know that I love music and want to create tracks like the ones I've fallen in love with. It's reassuring to know that I can produce something as lovely as your final product, even where I am now 🥰

And currently I’m trying to go full throttle on it. I’m learning FL Studio. learning music theory (bit overwhelming) trying to brush up on drums since it’s been a long time. And trying to learn some basic piano. It’s a bit intimidating but I really want this

Hi Annie, I'm glad you decided to invest time in this beautiful art. Ableton Live, at first, is quite a challenge but with the passage of time you will see that you will be able to understand it and, looking back, you will see that it was worth it. :) Kind regards from a producer from Argentina!
Producing is fun, and making money from it, would be the icing on the cake. My live performances/busking surprised me the most, it brought in way much more than my production projects. I’m hoping it will equal out someday!
Dude this video is so relatable to me. I have been singing for years and no idea what chords are or the technical aspect of it. Thank you for making me feel less alone
I love this. Lately, I have really struggled with my motivation for my cover and music videos, because I keep questioning, whether it is good enough. It's really annoying, and considering it is a hobby for me, I figured what the h*ll, and now I've started purely doing my videos for my own enjoyment without thinking so much about, how other people might think of them. That has given me so much more motivation to record my music and videos! Sometimes it's just really nice to learn and create just for the sake of learning and creating :)
A famous producer in S.Korea says, “When it’s good, it’s good.” If you’re liking it for your own enjoyment, then it’s good and probably pretty close to being ready for the world - for the listeners who are going to vibe with your sound. You’ll find your audience with this authenticity:) Good luck! I’m embarking on learning production and it’s tough bc when I write, I have a melody so I have to produce around that Ughhh But I’m wishing you the best!!!
So i started on Ableton today, i got so curious about this guys's course and i was like you ( i dont make a course for years) since 8 months ago when i decided to make my own video game RPG tittle after 3 years trying and failing i re-planned all my road and noticed i needed knowledge to do what i want. Now after 8 months learning many softwares for 3D sculpt, modeling, i am programming on unreal engine and so now i started to learn music! yay! after 1 year learning piano and 1 year without learn, i am here ready to come back to the road and make music to my game. So i want to know more about this guy course and what exactly he teachs on his course,it will help a lot. i also have plan to get some on domestika, they teach so great! thank you
I'll be 14 in 3 months and I want to start producing music with my friends soon. I watched a few videos about how to get started and we're learning a few songs and changing them slightly to make covers. We're all asking for song making related things for Christmas (biggest one is audio interface) and can't wait to record our first song. A few weeks ago the guitarist of our group came up with a little riff and we started making a song. Its going really well, we have the guitar (obviously), the lyrics needs some changes but its almost finished, we got a drum beat and bass lines. My mum also has a friend who organises an event every year in May and we're thinking about playing some songs there. I hope our little band will expand one day 😊 thanks for this video!
Damn Annie, i literally produced my first song in just 2 days after discovering improvised ways in cultivating music. Thanks to quarantine that push me mold my God-given talents! 💙

I’ve been listening to A LOT of music lately. Lots of beautiful songs and vocals that have got me through tough times in my life. It inspired me to want to learn how to make, read and understand music.
Okay, I feel like crying (I am lmao) watching this because I've been stuck for so long, putting off working on recording and producing music for the first time because it's feels so hard and sounds nothing like what I hear in other people's music. Listening to what you said in the end and then hearing your little snippet of self produced music is validation and support I really needed to keep going because I recognize so many things from your journey and the piece of work you ended up with from it. Thank you for sharing, you've really helped this fellow musician :')
Because of this video, I’m planning to take the same course. I’ve been interested in music production for a while, now I’m going to pursue it. Thank you for this video! It motivated me a lot
when she says " why am I crying" that's normal even if the person have been producing for years also ask that question when they're making a beat or mixing a song even when recording a vocals ( idk I think it's just me mybe)
thank you so much for this motivation, I'm currently trying to learn production by myself, with no professional tools or objects, so its kinda hard because I have some ideas in my head but don't have the things I need to put them together :') anyway, I'll try to produce some melody using my piano these days. so again, thank youuu
I LOVE THIS. THIS IS TOTALLY WHOLESOME. I STARTED MY PRODUCTION JOURNEY IN JULY 2022 SAMEM REASON AS YOU, I HAVE BEEN SONGWRITING FOR YEARS BUT SAME ISSUES AS YOU, UNLIKE YOU I DID NOT HAVE ANY CLASSES OR TUTORIALS THOUGH, I HAD TO FIGURE OUT SO MUCH ON MY OWN. 5 MONTHS IN AND MY DEAR ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK GOD.
i am SO glad u posted this when u did, I just bought all the equipment needed for your own home studio and am now in the process of learning protools (shoot me now)😩 but this was super inspiring and ur final product is beautiful!!
I have to create an EP all by myself, also taking a course on skill share, and this is also an assignment. It's a huge challenge and the pressure is real! So watching this video and how difficult you found it, I can totally relate! Your boyfriend is so sweet and helpful, I love that you are both musicians, also the track sounds amazing
thank you so much for this. i’ve always loved writing poetry & lately i’ve been turning those poems into lyrics and i feel inspired to take music more srsly by learning to produce & bringing my vision to life. your track was SO good. i enjoyed every second!
music production is sooo fun.. many people think that its a time waste, no career choice or even maybe they think its for dull people.. but its not trueeee attt allll... its been 5 yrs when i started producing and im still learning now im 18... funny thing about music production mark my words after learning and creating tracks upon tracks u will feel its not enough cause u will think that the stuff u r producing is bad or weak... we just learn producing more than more theres no end... and it makes me happy lol kudos for ur music production journey!!
Hi, i don't know how far ahead you are with music production, but i am currently beginning. I have been singing my entire life and never took action for anything else than that. now i have singing lessons, i am currently learning how to play the guitar and piano and the whole theory behind music AND i am trying to learn how to produce. The thing that has been helping me personally is to really indeed write down a complete schedule. I have been watching a lot of videos when it comes to producing on the channel Studio on UA-cam. it is amazing and they all help me every video to make me understand it just a little tiny bit better It is definitely a wild process, but it is so worth it in the end
You use the same program as I do and I love it that our producer community is growing more and more female. You girls get it! I think it's a great hobby to do when you're bored and that it takes a lot of patience to come to effective results. But: once you figured out some cool things you are so proud of you understanding the thing by yourself.
One thing that really helped me with music production was the concept that I had never thought of. The concept is everything's kind of equal mathematics, or loops with variations of changes. So if you play something play at four times then maybe another four times then have a breakdown and go into another loop with maybe something added or subtracted from it. This is called common time. Once you get the concept of common time everything just kind of falls into place.
🧡 The song you created sounded amazing, and seeing your process of learning production really inspired me to finish the tracks I’ve started and release something! I can’t wait to see more of your production journey!
This video is so inspiring. I really want to learn how to produce my own song, but I don't know where to start. I can create a melody and lyrics by using the acoustic guitar, but the thing is that there's more that I should learn to produce a song. Knowing that I have a long way to go to pursue it frustrates me and makes me lose hope, but I am still not giving up, and I tried to learn things by watching tutorials and reading about music. I smiled while watching the whole video. I am so glad that you didn't give up. Good luck on your song!
I got through the basics in about 2 weeks. I was so frustrated and began shoutingat the lecturer when he just assumed we would know certain things and found myself jumping down the youtube rabbit hole just trying to clear up concepts that where mentioned. I managed to finish a song which was actually good, but there were still so many unanswered questions, which I have spent 2 years trying to clear up. I would also cry yes, because it opened up a whole can of worms making me realise how much there was to learn and it overwhelmed me.
I just stumbled on your channel today, and I just want to say thank you for your incredible music related videos!! As a complete beginner, I aspire to be as talented, aesthetic, and comfortable in the musical realm as you are :) these videos inspire me so much, I look forward to seeing you grow as a creator, as I’m sure you will!!
God I love this video so much. Not only the content itself is great, but visually is so good! I'm also a songwriter and I've been struggling myself with music production, maybe I'll try too taking like an online course or something to improve!
i had chord progression ideas one time and this video brings them back but, i never tried to bring those ideas to life because i don't have enough money to afford for fl studio nor any good music program to start making music. but this does inspire me and motivates me to keep pursuing that desire of creating and producing music.
neither do i for now, but what saved me was an online DAW called soundtrap, it's super easy and intuitive and the best thing is that it has a free version very complete. i've been playing instruments and composing for fun since forever but during lockdown i gave a try to produce my music. im always recording ideas and making beats, i really recommend you to give it a chance too :)
Doing productive stuff in the middle of the night is the best thing ever, it peaceful+that’s when i get the boost of motivation n jus imagine by the time the sun is riding n people are waking up to get started with their day you’ll be done being productive
Music is divided in these sectors: -Creating music (from basic idea, you need to play instruments) -Producing music (taking ideas into concrete songs/projects/albums. Not only the audio part but the whole artistic part like cover art of the single or video or short story video) -Selling music (selling finished products like songs/projects/album) you use tiktok, how do you make it viral or not, you push into podcast or make live event with the group. Selling isn't bad, is actually important step for the whole process. Selling is also promoting. -Managing people who create music -Managing people who produce music -Managing all the people above If you have this team you're like 10% of people doing music and it means you're doing some money or good music How do i know this? i guess we are never gonna know, is just a little tip ps: to have a good group you need someone in charge of you that it's organizational type guy and the creating part is made by artistic people and producing side by straight focus guy
Awesome video! You are a great story teller, love the content. I found Ableton one of the hardest DAWs to learn. At least for myself I’ve been an Apple user all my life and was struggling with coming up with ideas and then I happened to learn Logic Pro and found it much more intuitive to work with. On the plus side I found learning Ableton first made learning other DAWs like Pro Tools, Logic, and FL studio much easier. Everyone will have their own preference.
Thank you so much for this video. I am in the process of learning too but have been holding myself back because it's so new, I know so little and it's scary. Coming along on your journey really inspired me to just start for real :D
Whoo, I use Ableton as well. My advice to people starting out would be to learn all the shortcuts. The simple ones like inserting tracks, adding midi clips or saving projects are easy enough to find or know. You have other ones like "Cmd + I" to Insert Time, Holding "Alt" to add a curve into automation, "Cmd + 1/2" for grid division and "Cmd + 3" for a triplet grid. Holding "Shift" in the piano roll to move midi between octaves rather than single note, "Cmd + Fn + Alt" to play from any selected point on the piano roll, etc.
I’ve been wanting to produce mg own music too and no idea where or how to start. Glad I came across your video. I just need to remind myself that the beginning is always the hardest and challenging but it’s all about the drive. I really want to learn this! ❤ Your 1st time is so lovely by the way! 👏🏼🫶🏼😊
For everyone who is starting this path, my advice is to go easy on yourself, this is like a sport, the more you train the better you become. You can’t start boxing with a professional if you don’t even know how to wear the boxing gloves. Wish you the best to you all. ❤
I relate SO MUCH to writing my own songs and wanting badly to produce them. Maybe this year I can finally get better at it and release my babies into the world
This was a dope video, no one ever shows the beginner experience and I think its helpful to see no one just starts great. Great first track btw way better than mine lol.
haha the beginner experience is always a lil embarrassing, but everyone goes through it whether we see it or not! glad to have been able to share a bit of that☺️
❤Decided yesterday to pick up the guitar I've owned for more than half a decade and try learning again. This video reminded me of that decision. I fiddled (no pun intended) wit it for the entire thing-- pausing to hear your final track of course haha. Now it's between my legs while I type this on my computer. Gonna see if I can't continue to pick it up for the next 12 days. I'll edit this comment if I succeed. Thanks for the solid content and may your future tears be less crippling ❤ Edit: I failed lol 😭😭 Today marks #2 of second AND LAST attempt. Thanks for your encouragement! 🙏🏽
That's amazing! Great job! Getting started is the hardest part, started with FL Studio my self a little over two years ago. The journey is soo awesome!
This was great! I'm actually producing for the first time now myself, and this video was very inspiring. There really is something about doing this for the first time and the liberation that comes with "not knowing what I'm doing."
Inspiring video. Wish I could have had so much gear at the beginning of my journey, but I think I may have also benefitted from working with limitations. It's been a few years now, and I haven't grown tired of this at all. 🎶🎵

Hi Annie! Thank you so much for making this video! As an aspiring music artist, I really needed this and was wondering where I could take the course? Is there a link available to Andrew’s class?
Hi Annie! I can relate to a lot you shared. I took Andrew Huang's music production class and it got me started on my production journey too. Since, I've released my own EP that I produced myself! Just keep going!! What helped me was having an accountability buddy. We had to make and then share one song with each other at the end of the week. Like you said also at the end of your journey, it helps to listen to others and listen to how they arrange (the specific parts). Sometimes producing a full cover helps too :D
Dude you made me jump with excitement and motivation from this video i never done this have -40 experience with it but i think i can manage! "Allow yourself to be a beginner"
Thank you for making this video, it was very inspiring and you did such a wonderful job! I am a beginner when it comes to playing instruments, singing, and music production but I REALLY want to learn more because I LOVE music so much! 🧡
I had been having trouble with one of the song i was producing, i couldn’t quit keep the melody when every i would sing it, then your boyfriend talked about frequency and it helped me realize what needed to change. I really appreciate this video, thank you 🎉😊
hi! i just started watching your videos recently and i was wondering if you’ve ever taken any classes/lessons for singing to sound so amazing? i recently quit choir because it felt like a lot of work and i was never having fun but when i sing a song i want to sing and write a song i want to write i have so much fun, but if it helps me sound better i’ll join it again! i was just wanting to know if you had any tips on how to improve?
if you want to get better at singing, the best thing to do is take classes but if you want to improve without taking classes i have two suggestions for you: 1. ask someone who isnt afraid of hurting your feelings for improvement for advice (for example, for me its my dad) then sing for them and ask them what you need to improve on (also make sure the person youve picked is someone who acctually CAN sing, becuase what might happen if you choose someone who is bad at singing you might get lead in the wrong direction) , and dont be afraid to experiment and ask them for their opinion on it. 2. watch videos on the internet, i know it seems very broad, but what i mean by this is looking at videos where vocal coaches are giving advice to their students and apply it to yourself, or even just watch the x factor and see what works for the judges and how they sing if you're really desperate. those are the only things that are coming to mind right now, and this could be bad advice its just what worked for me! GOOD LUUUCKK
Really wanted to study Music Production in uni but went for a business course instead. Now that I finally have no excuse to postpone/delay this (lol), I think it's time to start my journey. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for making this! Really hoping to start learning production myself so I can start recording all of the stuff I've written, and it's good to know I'm not the only beginner out there!
You took a very tunnel visioned approach to learning music production. Those step by step programs are useless and mostly written by people who are teachers for a reason, not musicians :) All you need to write good music is: 1. love for music production 2. sounds 3. computer 4. a DAW - digital audio workstation 5. taste You don't need music theory, gear and stuff like that, you can hear when something sounds good if your taste is good, music production is a broad term anyways, I hope you liked the learning process, nothing wrong with this, but the internet is filled with people who have those guides that mainly just waste your time. Cheers
The amount of sass in this comment. If you know who Andrew Huang is you'd retract that statement. He's a much more successful producer and musician than you'll ever be

Dude this video is so relatable to me. I have been singing for years and no idea what chords are or the technical aspect of it. Thank you for making me feel less alone
Same. I can find many Melodie’s for the same lyrics and it’s hard to create a chord progression
for a first track this is super duper good at this rate you could literally become one of the best in the world. My first beat was so buns
Thank you for this. I’m literally just starting at EVERYTHING music related and this helped me a lot 🤩
Love that we're all in the same boat! You got this!!
Damn Annie, i literally produced my first song in just 2 days after discovering improvised ways in cultivating music. Thanks to quarantine that push me mold my God-given talents! 💙
Do you know any good free to use daws?

Same 😢
Because of this video, I’m planning to take the same course. I’ve been interested in music production for a while, now I’m going to pursue it. Thank you for this video! It motivated me a lot
when she says " why am I crying" that's normal even if the person have been producing for years also ask that question when they're making a beat or mixing a song even when recording a vocals ( idk I think it's just me mybe)
thank you so much for this motivation, I'm currently trying to learn production by myself, with no professional tools or objects, so its kinda hard because I have some ideas in my head but don't have the things I need to put them together :')
anyway, I'll try to produce some melody using my piano these days. so again, thank youuu
Do you have any advice/tips because I’m in the same place but I have no clue what to do or how to do it. Idek how to play any instruments either
It is hard because it is not the best way to learn it.
Good luck with learning protools! It's gonna be great and I'm so excited for your journey!~ and thank you so much Natalie!!

thank you so much for this. i’ve always loved writing poetry & lately i’ve been turning those poems into lyrics and i feel inspired to take music more srsly by learning to produce & bringing my vision to life. your track was SO good. i enjoyed every second!
music production is sooo fun.. many people think that its a time waste, no career choice or even maybe they think its for dull people.. but its not trueeee attt allll... its been 5 yrs when i started producing and im still learning now im 18... funny thing about music production mark my words after learning and creating tracks upon tracks u will feel its not enough cause u will think that the stuff u r producing is bad or weak... we just learn producing more than more theres no end... and it makes me happy lol
kudos for ur music production journey!!
Thanks for this I’ve been trying to learn more about producing and where to start so this helped a lot. ❤️❤️
Aw so glad this helped you!🧡
Hi, i don't know how far ahead you are with music production, but i am currently beginning. I have been singing my entire life and never took action for anything else than that. now i have singing lessons, i am currently learning how to play the guitar and piano and the whole theory behind music AND i am trying to learn how to produce. The thing that has been helping me personally is to really indeed write down a complete schedule. I have been watching a lot of videos when it comes to producing on the channel Studio on UA-cam. it is amazing and they all help me every video to make me understand it just a little tiny bit better
It is definitely a wild process, but it is so worth it in the end
You use the same program as I do and I love it that our producer community is growing more and more female. You girls get it! I think it's a great hobby to do when you're bored and that it takes a lot of patience to come to effective results. But: once you figured out some cool things you are so proud of you understanding the thing by yourself.
I’m a female who’s also learning to produce but I feel sooo stuck. I don’t have equipment and I don’t even know where to start from. Any tips pls
@@cherie2947 try garageband!!
Absolutely love this! I’m suddenly motivated and inspired ❤️
Aw i’m so glad!!! 🧡🧡and thank you!
I'm also a songwriter and I've been struggling myself with music production, maybe I'll try too taking like an online course or something to improve!
i had chord progression ideas one time and this video brings them back but, i never tried to bring those ideas to life because i don't have enough money to afford for fl studio nor any good music program to start making music. but this does inspire me and motivates me to keep pursuing that desire of creating and producing music.
neither do i for now, but what saved me was an online DAW called soundtrap, it's super easy and intuitive and the best thing is that it has a free version very complete. i've been playing instruments and composing for fun since forever but during lockdown i gave a try to produce my music. im always recording ideas and making beats, i really recommend you to give it a chance too :)
try GarageBand!

5:52 “First of all, really good job”
That made me smile
Music is divided in these sectors:
-Creating music (from basic idea, you need to play instruments)
-Producing music (taking ideas into concrete songs/projects/albums. Not only the audio part but the whole artistic part like cover art of the single or video or short story video)
-Selling music (selling finished products like songs/projects/album) you use tiktok, how do you make it viral or not, you push into podcast or make live event with the group. Selling isn't bad, is actually important step for the whole process. Selling is also promoting.
-Managing people who create music
-Managing people who produce music
-Managing all the people above
If you have this team you're like 10% of people doing music and it means you're doing some money or good music
How do i know this? i guess we are never gonna know, is just a little tip
ps: to have a good group you need someone in charge of you that it's organizational type guy and the creating part is made by artistic people and producing side by straight focus guy
if you view management, marketing and sales as part of music, you will never be an inventive musician
Omg, you explained it very simply! It's really easy to understand. Thank you so much! I've always wanted to learn these.
THIS TUTORIAL REALLY WORKS I AM FROM PHILIPPINES! THIS MAN DESERVES A SUBSCRIPTION!
Wow, THANK YOU!! I’ve been taking a note of this and it’s def been speeding up the workflow!
Thankyou because of you i got the motivation to do this which i've been putting up for years🧡
it took me so much to gather the motivation too! You got this!

i feel like no one can just learn music production and make good music, you have to experience the music over multiple years
For everyone who is starting this path, my advice is to go easy on yourself, this is like a sport, the more you train the better you become.

I fiddled (no pun intended) wit it for the entire thing-- pausing to hear your final track of course haha. Now it's between my legs while I type this on my computer. Gonna see if I can't continue to pick it up for the next 12 days. I'll edit this comment if I succeed. Thanks for the solid content and may your future tears be less crippling ❤

Hi Annie! Thank you so much for making this video! As an aspiring music artist, I really needed this and was wondering where I could take the course? Is there a link available to Andrew’s class?
I just have a feeling that, with the help of your videos, my dream might actually come true!!!
Sometimes producing a full cover helps too :D

hi! i just started watching your videos recently and i was wondering if you’ve ever taken any classes/lessons for singing to sound so amazing? i recently quit choir because it felt like a lot of work and i was never having fun but when i sing a song i want to sing and write a song i want to write i have so much fun, but if it helps me sound better i’ll join it again! i was just wanting to know if you had any tips on how to improve?
if you want to get better at singing, the best thing to do is take classes but if you want to improve without taking classes i have two suggestions for you:
1. ask someone who isnt afraid of hurting your feelings for improvement for advice (for example, for me its my dad) then sing for them and ask them what you need to improve on (also make sure the person youve picked is someone who acctually CAN sing, becuase what might happen if you choose someone who is bad at singing you might get lead in the wrong direction) , and dont be afraid to experiment and ask them for their opinion on it.
2. watch videos on the internet, i know it seems very broad, but what i mean by this is looking at videos where vocal coaches are giving advice to their students and apply it to yourself, or even just watch the x factor and see what works for the judges and how they sing if you're really desperate.
those are the only things that are coming to mind right now, and this could be bad advice its just what worked for me!
GOOD LUUUCKK

Thanks for making this! Really hoping to start learning production myself so I can start recording all of the stuff I've written, and it's good to know I'm not the only beginner out there!
You took a very tunnel visioned approach to learning music production.
Those step by step programs are useless and mostly written by people who are teachers for a reason, not musicians :)
All you need to write good music is:
1. love for music production
2. sounds
3. computer
4. a DAW - digital audio workstation
5. taste
You don't need music theory, gear and stuff like that, you can hear when something sounds good if your taste is good, music production is a broad term anyways, I hope you liked the learning process, nothing wrong with this, but the internet is filled with people who have those guides that mainly just waste your time.
Cheers

The amount of sass in this comment. If you know who Andrew Huang is you'd retract that statement. He's a much more successful producer and musician than you'll ever be
