It's a shame they no longer pre-install screen protectors on the phone
Ikr
Apple bad steps
Never seen a phone with pre-installed screen protector, lol.
@Haziza87 s22 ultra had them so did s21's, s20's, and I think even the s10's
@qasim5279 I agree, my s20 FE also had a screen protector from factory. Although some people argue that this factory screen protector is not a "real" protector. For me after 4years still have it on.
Thank you. I ordered mine. Just wish they had a privacy version.
Could not have done it without , thank you so much
i had a samsung a22 till a few months back, i always had a thick glass screen protector on it, the thing i didnt like is that those glass protectors got scratched and broken easily, it also compromised on the touch fluidity, but it always kept the actual phone display free from any damage or scratches which is a good thing
recently i got the samsung s23 and installed a film protector on it, and the thing i like is that its very thin so the touch is as good as it was originally, it doesnt scratch or break easily, yes it does compromise on reducing the chances to scratch the original display but i personally am fine with this compromise
because no matter how good or whichever material you use to protect your display, a good drop on a bad day on a rough surface can shatter your display easily
Surely this begs the question, "Why does Samsung not do this before the unit leaves the factory?"
If Samsung can do it for the Flip 4 they can do it for every phone. OK, it'll add a little to the price but I'd happily pay.
My S21 Ultra came with a screen protector installed. It seems like now they're too committed to the "sustainability" malarkey. That's fine with reduction in packaging, but ffs give us a screen protector because the vast majority of us will get one anyway and then to ship that out from Amazon etc will increase carbon footprint anyway (transportation/packaging)
cause people usually rip it off so I guess they just let you choose now if you want or not
Same reason why you have to buy a seperate charger now.. money and greed.
@izilife that's because everyone has a charger already I have 5 don't need any more
@@johncas1 he's talking about the pre-applied screen protector not the charger
Thank you for procedure demonstration!
may i know which watch u r wearing
I went with the White Dome 9h one for my s23 ultra
Nice
Its easier to install on the s23. The ultra has a curve screen
In my experience with several previous phones the film/foil screen protectors actually offer more protection for the screen when compared with glass protectors.
One good drop on a sharp rock and your glass screen protector is gone. The chance of the actual phone display also cracking is higher than with foil protectors.
Since i hike a lot in the alps, i had several hundred phone drops in the last 5 years on SHARP rocks and always from height of more than 1m (im 195cm tall). The phone i had was S6 and then later until now S9+, both were protected by Spigen Ultra Hybrid cases and random amazon foil screen protectors.
Other than having to replace a screen protector and case (because of looks not function, as they get lots of scratches on them, both foil and case) for each phone every 1 year or so.. both phones looked brand new at the end of their life, aka when the replacement came.
Now i ordered S23 256 Graphite grey and i plan to use the same case and screen protector combination.
Only thing i wish is that Spigen improves the grip on the matt hybrid cases, as the matt plastic isnt as grippy as the completely transparent version of UltraHybrid.
That’s surprising to see that film protects the phone more than tempered glass.
Every phone I’ve dropped with tempered glass survived albeit needing replacement of screen protector but when using film I’ve had 2 phones have a screen crack.
I’ve also got the S23 coming my way and looking at some options, why do you think film protectors for you make the phone more durable?
@@DANirulable my brother and I used the spigen ones (2 in a box) and it has a good process to get it attached - wasted one on somehow a cat hair getting on it during install. This ones goes on so nicely, so I would not reject it. My brother said plastic scratches almost instantly and show prints, but my S21 it was never a bother to me really - if I did wash it, that was the only time I would think "wow that is really not going to be cleaned like new".
was looking forward to more alternatives other than this official screen protector
Of which there are hundreds already, what's your point?
@@TheSometimeAfter precisely because there are hundreds so need help reviewing and recommending one!
I got the amfilm Hybrid Screen Protector for my base S23. It comes with 2 screen protectors and camera protectors as well as an application kit, wet wipes, microfiber cloth and squeegee.
Currently working great on both me and my brother's phones (we both use the base S23) for the 6 days or so we've had our phones. There's a tempered glass alternative but I was worried about fingerprint recognition and went with this instead. It was about CAD$12 on Amazon with a CAD$2 coupon bringing it down to CAD$10.
hi guys,
so it's good enough to protect the screen from scratches and accidents?
also, is it useful and does not prevent enjoying screen use?
It's very very good 👍
Is ultrasonic fingerprint scan works?
How about camera? It covers the camera or have hole puch for camera like a cutout?
Please do let me know.
Nice video 👍🏻
I don't use a glass protector I this phone has gorilla glass already just looking to protect from scratches
Would the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner work with a glass screen protector?
it does work if the glass is thin enough. but still its a lot slower.
I am using a tempered glass screen protector and my fingerprint is working
@@max_mwangi What kind? I tried 2, one did not work at all, the sekod works but really bad.
@@vargastefansergiu64 mine is the UV type of protector. That one works great with the fingerprint scanner.
In samsung official website i am hearing people complain that the mid section glue is leaving two streak behind after sticking.
And its average review rating is 1.7 so i am really skeptical about buying this...
The instructions by Samsung are not the best. If you follow how we did it in the video you will not have any lines on the screen
Do you think I can use it for the s22 as well? The dimensions are basically the same.
Unfortunately not, it seems Samsung changed just enough so they are not interchangeable.
@@mobilefun yeas true, it's a few mm bigger
I m curios why the silicon is more expensive than glass protection
Self healing capabilities
Does the fingerprint work with this screen protector?
Work
ive messed it up
hydrogel??
Samsung removed the pre-installed screen protector, and the charger, from the phone boxes in aid of environmental sustainability.
Then they ship two tiny screen protectors in a huge box with about 5 plastic accessories that you will throw away afterwards.
Just genius.
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Why doesn't Samsung just send the units out with screen protectors pre-installed?! My S21 Ultra came with a screen protector installed.
It seems like now they're too committed to the "sustainability" malarkey. That's fine with reduction in packaging, but ffs give us a screen protector because the vast majority of us will get one anyway and then to ship that out from Amazon etc will increase carbon footprint anyway (transportation/packaging)
exactly! also it seeems more wastefull to have a black screencover on it than to have a clear plastic one but profit driven companies...
It used to comes installed, now gotta pay for it.... not cool
Mine wouldn't stick to the edges of my S23 Ultra. The worst screen protector I've ever used.
Tried it two times and failed ended with bubbels with dust under it 😅👎
To iste tu 😂
So many bubbles. How did you not get a single bubble??
Much practice and following the instructions to a T.
People still use film protectors ? :O
Film protectors seem to be the most popular choice still among the masses.
-£17, a few air bubbles that I couldn't get to move to the edge. Sucks...
Bought another box and got it right on the first go. Expensive mistake though. My advice... Make sure the area is clean, take your time, press with decent pressure on the squeegee when applying and push slowly. I also used a Zeiss Lens Wipe to rub over the edges to remove a few small air bubbles and seal the screen protector.
@phixi0n can you get an air bubble out post screen seal?
@@milkman1649 not any significant bubbles no, I had a small one near the edge that I got out but if it's nearer the middle it's tough.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY it. I followed manual and video, did it in basically dust-free environment (bathroom after taking a shower) and I still couldn't get rid of bubbles!
Very bad and difficult to install and contains bubbles ... I don't recommend it
It's not a temper glass??? That susks.
I personally don't like temper glass , takes away from the thumb reader
@@Marquinho0731 Not if you get a proper one, like Rhinoshield's or White stone domes.
@@jadenisiahwho wants to pay 50 bucks for a small piece of glass?🤣🤣🤣 Rhino shields impact flex protector is amazing though, the video where they hit the phone with a hammer and it doesn't break is legit, my buddy tried it and always threw his phone around and it was always fine, it's unfortunate downfall was sadly a pool🥲
Putting a piece of glass on top of a piece of glass, doesn't make it any stronger.
I don't understand why glass screen protectors are even a thing, it doesn't actually do anything.
@@HouseOfFunQM it does. I use temper glass and it saved me from screen crack. My mom's phone has tpu it cracked after it dropped.
