I wonder if giving gifts is your love language? 😂 i peek those sock blockers and they look awesome!! I remember when you made Wyatt the Mario Tunisian crochet blanket!! And Austin’s golden state one! Talk about grams out ❤
I bet it is! 😂🤣 and I’m so obsessed with those blockers! Sadly my size socks won’t fit on them. I need to try Eric’s and Wyatt’s size. I bet they will!
The advantage of making the sleeve of this pattern first is that when you start the body you are already familiar with one of the cable designs. This makes the sweater body less intimidating. It's going to be a beautiful sweater. I wish I could send you a picture of my son in his Saven.
I also LOVE gift knitting! I especially love surprise knitting. Nothing like working on something and knowing you have a secret from the special person you’re going to gift the project to!
Thanks for another fun video! This is unrelated, but I have to thank you for recommending the Sweet Loren's cookies! I have a very dear friend who recently went gluten free, and was struggling to find yummy desserts. I got her a pack, and she LOVED them! Thanks again! 💛
That’s awesome!!! I was struggling too and those saved the day!! 🍪
I enjoy hearing your stats, although I do not track mine. That Beauty & the Beast set is perfect! They really nailed the colors. Enjoyed the catch-up on all your scrappy blankets. I'm teetering on the edge of starting one.
Watching you talk about Henleys socks and how much you enjoy making for others put me in the mindset of how extremely grateful I am to have the life I do and the ability to make and create for myself and others. And honestly, the amazing life I get to have today. Watching you brings me so much joy and helps me remember the positives instead of focusing on the negative. Thank you for being very authentic and real. It is quite refreshing
♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for your comment. You cheered up my day and helped me to be a little more grateful.
When you showed the Dr Who sock yarn, I thought that you could use those colors in your husbands Dr Who scarf instead of the typical colors. I think it would be fun. I made my son a DR WHO scarf more than 10 years ago.
I’m itching to get working back on my granny stripe and Patchwork blanket, but I’ve got it in my head I can’t until I’ve finished my Anthology Throw 😂
Love spending time with you and seeing all your lovely projects. Happy Saturday 😘💖
😂 that’s a good thing to have in your head though! I’ve surprised myself by being in that mindset lately with wanting to finish something before I work on something else. I don’t even know who I am. 🤣
I was determined to knit an all over cabled sweater this year.... I cast one one and immediately fell in love with it. Suddenly my queue has multiple cable sweaters and I MAY have rebought this yarn I'm using in 2 other colorways as well. I. Feel. You. on this one!!! (BTW I'm making the Fisherquine Jumper by Christina J. MacKenzie and using Fisherman's Wool from Lionbrand). I was enjoying my cable sweater so much, I also cast on a pair of socks which I worked cables into. Not sure how long this obsession will last, but I'm sure having fun during it!
I feel the same way about knitting for someone I love! Makes me feel warm and happy!
You have inspired me to make a Cozy Memories blanket. I did not like the way my first square looked, but then I remembered that you said you made some modifications. I ripped it out and re-did the first square using your modifications and a smaller needle and it looked soooo much better. Thank You!!I may be obsessed now. Haha!
Yay!!! 👏🏻 Welcome to the obsession!!!! 🧶
The joy really comes through in your face when talking about your sons sweater. I'm so happy for you that he asked you to make a sweater for him.
☺️♥️♥️
Thank you so much for doing your videos and sharing all that information. Love hearing your stats and wish I were as good as you at keeping track!
I totally relate with being a gift knitter! I move through gift projects so much quicker than knits for myself because it just get so excited to give it to someone!
When you mentioned the crazy colors in the granny stripe blanket, you reminded me of the rugs my grandma used to make from cloth scraps. I had outgrown a pretty bright yellow blouse that I loved, and one day she showed me the bright yellow stripe in the rug and I loved it!
I love your ideas for using your leftover sock yarn! I am going to start a magic ball to make a scrappy blanket; maybe I’ll even learn to crochet! Thank you for sharing your experiences and favorite shops. 😃
I absolutely love how you use up all your yarn! Reminds me of how my Grandmothers would use up all their bits to make us blankets ❤
I would love to see you knitting the cables. Just hearing the word cables send a chill down my spine! You are right, knowing that the person you knit for appreciates it makes it great but when you know that they love it is a game changer!
That sweater is going to be amazing! The color and the cables are beautiful. Lucky Wyatt😊
Absolutely love all your socks! Bags are cut also! My favorite is your scrappy blankets!! I love all things scrappy!! ❤
I just adore anything scrappy! Seeing you so happy with your Cosiest memories and granny stripes blanket makes me happy to see your enthusiasm! You can’t beat a scrappy Sunday x
How cute you're nieces are with their knitted gifts. And I missed the Stripey Crochet blanket using the mimis! Still loving the Tulip crochet hooks. Happy Making.
I did not realize Barty Crouch Jr. was a Doctor!! I haven't seen any Dr.Who, except fot falling asleep beside my Grandpa as he watched when I was young. 😁 But I did knit my BIL a Dr.Who scarf one year for Christmas; that was a hit.
Love your excitement about the new yarns coming in. My plan for this year is for every new yarn I cast on , I have to also cast on an older yarn from my stash.
Love that idea!!
I love the scrappy granny stripe blanket! I have one started and haven't worked on it in awhile. I need to pull that out again and when I do it will be all I work on for awhile. I've been obsessed with spinning fiber at the moment.
Can totally relate to being happy creating for someone who loves what I'm creating! Am enjoying making things for my first grandchild! Finished a poncho for her that her mom requested and immediately sent pictures to me! Also thanks for the magic ball idea! Am in the process of organizing a new room for all things yarn, and will definitely use this idea! Thanks again for sharing with us!
I’m another knitter who starts sweaters by knitting a sleeve, it’s a big gauge swatch & a good place to learn the cable pattern & get it into muscle memory.
Love our comment on gift knitting, I practically give everything I knit to someone. I love the smile and a hug I receive in return. And as I say on to the next.....
I love your enthusiasm to knit for other people. I love knitting for my great niece and she’s only small at the moment so the knits don’t take too long. Lovely socks and the sleeve on the sweater is looking great. 👍🧶😊
Always fun Kay! I am late watching this, but the sweater you are knitting Wyatt is EPIC!!! I enjoy listening to your stats, so please keep sharing them!🤗💖
Hi Kay, thank you for this podcast, loved it. Love hearing your stats, keeping track of my grams I knit, my goal this year is 4000 grams. And really want to work mostly from stash. But when I want to k it a sweater I don't have the yarn for, I buy the yarn to make it. Happy making, Petra
Love that you’re tracking yours too Petra! And that you have set a goal for yours.
Hi Kay! Awwwww that is so adorable about Henley. She's going to need socks in every color ;).
I agree! ☺️🧦
I always look forward to watching your podcast every week. This morning I had my coffee, yogurt bowl, and worked a bit on the sleeves for a sweater for myself.
I have a ton of leftover grams from minis that I've just been hoarding over the years; you have inspired me to magic knot ball them for something scrappy. I don't know why that never occurred to me, but the idea is brilliant. Have a wonderful weekend, Kay ❤
The magic knot balls are so fun for scrappy projects! You will love it! 🧶
Hello. You will never believe this but your wedding anniversary is the same day as my son’s 16th birthday. Congrats to the two of you. Beautiful to see two people still in love.
Awe! Happy Birthday to your son!
My Knit For Brains bags are probably my most used project bags. I even use them for gift bags for my knitter friend, two gifts in one
It’s such a great size!!
I'm so excited to see Wyatt's sweater finished! Those cables are beautiful and I love the color. Congrats on so many finishes!
Oh sweet!!! Had to pause to mention the stitch definition on the sweater sleeve is amazing!! And your socks are awesome! I love that zigzag pattern ❤
Thank you!!! 🧶
HI Kay, I just started my first Coziest Memory Blanket, in which every other square is scrappy, and the other squares are one of three colors. I am trying to emulate a particular layout that I have seen in patchwork quilts. (Not a quilter, but I play one with my knitting.) I am using your modifications for the first and last stitch, as well as the directional layout of the squares. I refer to the picture on your project page often to be sure my squares are pointing the way I want them to. I have only just started, so I am assuming this will become more like second nature as I add more rounds. Also my squares are 16x16 stitches so that they will be tiny, a la the Battenberg Blanket. I guess I’m stealing ideas from all over the place, but the blanket I’m envisioning in my head is going to be amazing. I like the idea of little squares. It makes me feel like I’m finishing something every day.
That sounds like it’s going to be gorgeous! 😍
Gorgeous Cables on that sleeve!! And yay, you have your new sock blockers up on the wall.
I'm so happy with your suggested modifications for the cozy memories squares. The edges are beautiful and easy to work into. I need a little "resting space" for my eyes so just make a plain white square to go along with every color square.
How lovely that members of your family want and appreciate home knitted items. The Dr Who socks are going to be awesome. Love the colour and the cables on Wyatt's sweater. Truly a knit of love. 🇬🇧
I love granny stitch. So easy but love the effect. I’m doing a granny stitch triangle shawl. In Malabrigo. So soft and colorful!
David Tennant was my favorite too! I was so happy to see him in the Christmas specials on Disney+
Me too!
Hi Kay. Love your videos. Still haven’t started socks yet. You give me such inspiration. I love all of your projects and the scrappy blanket in squares will be one I try. That one may work well as I’m practicing my stitches as a new knitter. I also crochet and wondered what stitch you are using for the scrappy crochet blanket. It’s beautiful.
Another great episode Kay!Thank you for getting me hooked on sock knitting several years ago!! I am forever grateful!! ❤️
Hi Kay. it is so great to see you so happy knowing that your nieces love their socks and cardigan. I gifted a pair of socks to a friend for her birthday and she tried them on straight away and said they are so warm. I hadn't realised you had been crocheting a scrappy blanket. It looks great. I have started a small crochet squares blanket where I have started using the left over socks yarn and crocheted small squares and I have also done a hexagons one too with the same yarn. I need to catch up though as you said it can get away from you. I am amazed how many squares you knitted in January this year to catch up. I do like hearing about your stats. The blanket looks lovely. Wyatt's cable sweater is looking amazing. Hope you have a great week.
Spent most of my teenage and young adult years seeing concerts at Bogarts. Wonderful memories!
Oh that’s awesome!!! This was our first time there. Great venue!!
I loved seeing your sweater for Wyatt - as a gift knitter myself, I can totally relate! 😍 I love seeing all your scrappy blankets, too!
That gift knitting joy is infectious!❤
I got some Must Stash yarn in a destash…..it is wonderful!!
The cables stabilize the fabric so even with superwash yarn the sweater will not grow the way stockinette would grow. Love that Wyatt wants a sweater!
Nope, not quite as much as with stockinette. But, I still think it will be good for getting some more positive ease if needed. 🧶
SO many lovely things you've shared in this episode...well, in every episode, but I have to say.....those Heel Toe Do Si Do socks literally made me gasp because they're SO beautiful! Holy cow. Your cable work on Wyatt's sweater is amazing, Kay. Your cables are so perfect...I'm so envious! My heart smiled hearing how much your niece loves her socks. That's why I love knitting for others too. You know the people who will appreciate the work and love that went into each stitch, so it brings so much joy to see how happy they are with their handmade gift. It's just the best feeling. I just may borrow your "love the crazy" of scrappy projects phrase...it fits to a tee. I love the mismatched fun in using all the scraps too. And I need to start a magic ball...I really do!
I love how excited Henley was to show off her socks. My niece wore the pair I gave her for a week straight. I’m knitting another pair for her now. I too find joy in knitting for others. Your face shows how much you truly enjoy it. There was a beautiful sparkle when you talked about the projects for your loved ones.
The very first sweater I ever knit was an all over cabled cardigan in Knit Picks Swish Superwash in almost the exact color of Wyatt's sweater, so this is bringing back memories! Of course that was almost 2 decades ago at this point...but I'm happy to say the cardigan is still going strong!
Another great episode! When you talked about your nieces socks and how they were her favorite, the thought came to my mind "knit her, and all the others in your family, a box of socks for Christmas". I keep seeing a box of socks this year so that’s why. Wyatt’s sweater is beautiful! My friend from 2nd grade, her daughter Callie was on Alone season 7. Keep watching, it’s so good!
Ahhh you’re making me want to pull out my granny stripe blanket and cast on some socks so badly 🙈. But, I gotta finish this granny ripple - worsted weight so maybe won’t take too long 🤞. Thanks for the early morning podcast and have a great weekend!!
Is the granny ripple made side to side top down or side to side length way ? I love them and haven’t tried yet
I am looking for a crochet blanket, this would be my first crochet project. Do you have a pattern you love?
The granny ripple is a chevron but with grant clusters! I personally enjoy it and like it more than a regular chevron
ua-cam.com/video/TFnqZJoX3iM/v-deo.htmlsi=NzNV_Oyod3jvsxtH
This is the tutorial I followed! She has great tutorials overall and so many blanket options so is a great resource!
The granny ripple is side to side! I think a granny ripple or a granny stripe blanket are great first does at crochet. You can even make a giant granny square and it’ll be a good blanket
I love hearing all about the stats. You have inspired me to try to keep track of what I have used and what I add. Not all my stash is with me (some in a storage unit), but I am definitely attempting to use up what I have kept with me while my family and I are in a small apartment. I am also doing a scrappy blanket - just a simple dc blanket - from the worsted weights I have used in other projects. I used your tutorial on the magic knot ball to get that started. :) Love all the socks.
I want to make knit gifts, but I always worry they won’t be taken care of the way they need. How do you ensure your gifts come with care instructions? I’m thinking of just adding little cards with a thorough explanation when it’s opened 😂 but maybe there’s a better idea out there?
You could definitely do that. I don’t give anything that I would expect to be hand washed. Everything I gift is something I would myself put in the washer and dryer.
Hey Kay, do you have a video about your magic knot balls? I’m just wondering if you use yarn glue on each knot as you go? I like the idea of using up even the smallest scraps.
😊 🧶
Yep I have a tutorial for it on my tutorial playlist.
So excited to see you working on the fingering weight coziest memories blanket…and the granny stripe…mmmm do I want to start one?? I have started a magic knot ball but not done anything with it yet …one day ha ha .
Beautiful project bags and loving the socks. Your scrappy blankets look amazing, I love them. Wyatt’s sweater is going to look fabulous. Have a great weekend ❤❤❤
Nice scrappy projects. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! ♥️🧶
Love your scrappy blankets Kay!!
Thank you!
Always inspiring, especially your scrappy projects. I still love my Scrappy Sunday mug.
Your granny stripe blanket is beautiful! 😍
I really love the January ones the best . I was going to sign up for them but I won’t be able to get the January and that bums me out.
I was able to use your code the day you gave it last episode for the Row One yarn club. They shipped it that very day, and it should be in my mailbox later today. I'm looking forward to opening that later. XOXO
Oh that’s great! Thank you for using the code! ♥️ mine should be here today too! I can’t wait to open it!
@@CrazySockLady I can't believe how fast it shipped!
I've been going through something similar recently, decided I wasn't a garment knitter, got to be OK with that was just happy my knitting mojo was coming back. Yesterday I swatched for a sweater
😂 its so funny how that happens!!
Love your videos...especially loved your enthusiasm for the gift knitting. I feel that too when making items for others. Wyatt will look so good in that new sweater when done! Look forward to the next episode!
Thank you so much for watching Tammy!!! ♥️♥️
Oh-The Beauty and the Beast sock set is amazing! I read Brain Damaged before Suicide Med, which I finished yesterday. I’m flying through her books right now. Currently reading Do Not Disturb. 😊
Do not disturb is so good!!
Fabulous January stats! I just compiled mine and hope to record tomorrow. Not as good as yours but not too shabby either!
Oh my, i cannot handle that excitement. ❤ I am still smiling, feeling happy for you to habe such a lovely family and nieces.
❤perfect!!!! Your podcast came in at 5am!!!!been up since 4!!!!was ready for this!!! thanks Kay 🎉

Good morning! Watching with my coffee while adding squares to my DK cozy memories blanket. I love making knitted gifts for others and seeing their reaction to receiving them.
My January total for finished items is 1954g, 6 items, zero yarn in. I am hoping to attend 2 yarn shows during March and April so will be getting some sock yarn there plus I had a gift voucher for Wool Warehouse for Christmas. Waiting for their Drops sale to use it on more sock yarn, lol
That’s awesome! 👏🏻
I think I’m gonna be knitting my cozy memories for like 10 years 😂
Loving the sweater. Always a nice visit with you.
I’m waiting for my first Yarnable. I’m excited.❤
I cannot get over those FW socks the colour way the pattern used I’m obsessed! Best sock combo ever!
Right?! It was the perfect match! 🤩🧦🧶
@@CrazySockLadyit’s like they were made for each other!
Beautiful projects! I would definitely be a little nervous in a big crowd, but dancing to Check Yes, Juliet performed live might be worth it.
It was 100% worth it!!
I would love to know your favorite yarns, maybe a list of comercial yarns and indie dyers. Thanks.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
The granny stripe blanket is so pretty! I am patiently waiting for the day my kids ask me to knit them up some socks 😂
yes, i'm up at 5am and crocheting a blanket because why not and I'm here for the drop \o/
Perfect! 🧶
Omg!,, my husband and I just started laughing when you mentioned Lisa and the Dr. Who socks. My yarn just came in yesterday. They are his birthday socks.
😂🧦🧶
I am a crocheter who yearns to knit socks 😁 have you done any videos regarding how/when you learned to knit? Your podcasts are always a joy~ thanks so much!
I’m sure I’ve talked about it some over the years but I wouldn’t have any idea what videos it would have been in. 😅☺️ I learned to knit from a book about 15-16 years ago.
I was so disappointed there were no more Mario bags 😭 my sons fav is Igi (Luigi)… he’s 16 months old 🤣🤣
Unfortunately, the size Signatures you are using are not coming back in stock. They do have some other sizes available or a pair of 8” DPNs would be ok for this project as a substitute. They are pretty close to closing permanently and all their needles are 35% off right now. If you want any of them I would go snag them while you still can. 😢
Good morning glad to see you again if I make the size small socks will the fit a 8year old little girl.everything is beautiful.
I do a 60 st sock for younger kids…I haven’t had issues with socks being too big or too tight with that count.
They should! Every kid is different, so it really just depends on their size.
the saven body cables are so funn!
Hello Key, I enjoy your videos very much. The signature 7” needles that you have, what tips do you use? Thank you
Lovely podcast. Always enjoy
Thank you! ♥️
Beautiful yarn for Wyatt’s sweater and such a divine pattern. Is there a reason why you do not knit the two sleeves at the same time? And the same question re your socks? Love your podcasts.
Just person preference. I prefer one at a time. 🧶
Happy Friday, Kay!! Beautiful all of the projects!!
What do you do when you just get so tired of project? The Cozy memories is a goal
Take a break from it and go back to it later.
I have a question 👋🏻 can you use your heel toe dosido pattern (or other patterns you’ve written) with a 48 stitch sock? 🤍🫶🏼 I have your vanilla sock patterns and was wondering about your others if they can be adapted? Thanks!
Do you have recommendations for good cable needles? I feel like I’d like cables better if I wasn’t fiddling with the cable needle so much.
I have ones I like linked on my Amazon Storefront 🧶
Yes David Tennant 🙌🏻
The BEST!
Happy almost 18th anniversary 🎉 that’s a big deal. Wyatt’s sweater is looking beautiful so far.
Thank you!!! ♥️♥️
I checked my notifications when your life 360 went off 🤣🤣
hi i always enjoy watching you sure are busy
