Tom Curry should not go on the summer tour. At his best he is a world class player and I am not questioning any aspect of his playing capabilities. However, when I hear the word degenerative, alarm bells sound. He’s just returned from injury. We know what he can do and he blatantly needs to be managed correctly. It would have been a better use of talent to take either Guy Pepper or Will Evans and integrate them into an England squad with other experienced players around them.
Same issues of the last few years depth at 12 and 1 & 3. I feel like there are possibly more serviceable English props than I thought but time to give them a go and give them experience. Borthwick did a 180 in the latter stages of the 6N to what people expected in terms of playing style. If how England played agaisnt Ireland and France is how he wants to play the focus should be on getting the right players and depth in those positions. E.g. Furbank at 15 who's the next best 15 in that mould and so on.
Watch out for Marcus Smith, Fin Smith, Ollie Lawrence & Feyi-Waboso. You’ll see what they can do this summer, fingers crossed I don’t end up eating my words 😅😅
I think some players will be in and out of this squad within 4 days. Ben Curry & Carpenter will be removed for the likes of Underhill & Furbank. I think it’s quite disrespectful to include someone for 4 days then drop them. They’d take it as an “honour” to join up but actually I think it’s really unfair to give someone just 4 days to try and prove themselves as to why they deserve a spot in the squad. They should at least be given a full camp and/or some game time before getting cut
@@specialistcarmarketing doesn’t have to be. Just name the squad you want and let the late comers join up once the semi final and final are done. Stringing people along is out of order imo

Any desire to try Freddie Steward at 12? Catches the ball and hits the line or to slow on the turn defensively?
As a NZer, the English have some insanely talented forwards in their squad. The backs, not so much.
I agree particularly yhe back 3 seems to lack some pace at the moment.
