When I found Matt Maltese, I found a gem that I would listen to forever.
i found him august 2017. to this day i still listen to him everyday and he is my biggest comfort. just came out with Mystery, hope you’ve checked it out

I was trying to find the meaning throughout the whole video with the lyrics. I think him being blindfolded, escorted by guards, and then him dancing with himself is literally what it feels like when you take medicine. As someone who personally takes medicine to “live my comic life” it often feels like I’m sending guards on myself to make sure I do what I’m suppose to, like Matt playing the piano. But at the end of the day, you are dancing with yourself because you’re choosing to take the pills and do what is “good” and alter yourself. It’s choosing to guard yourself from the craziness of you, even when it may seem difficult to do.

i love this song so much because i feel like everyone can relate to it in a sense. everyone has moments when they want to ignore all the bad things that are happening to them and just live their comic life. people just want to be happy and sometimes to do that we ignore our problems. they don’t disappear or get better but we just stay happily ignorant. i love that this song shows the struggle of trying to keep all the bad stuff out and just be happy because in the end it fails and we still deal with the sadness that comes from our problems.
One of the most amazing songs ive ever heard from the lyrics to this extraordinary video, im so sad that matt Maltese is so underrated and not famous, it really hurts to see someone owning such a talent and not being famous, and it hurts know that only few people listened to this masterpiece. If i can make matt famous i would do it now. Sorry if there is any eng mistake.

every aspect of this is so beautiful
It's amazing how thought-provoking both the song and the video are. I guess that's the sign of an artist's work - and how many beautiful interpretations can arise from it. I read people's different perspectives on it, all making sense in their own way. My take on it is that Matt - the man at 1:28 is just becoming one of the "awaken" people sitting at a table full of ignorant decrepit beigns refusing to face their contradictory reality. Once he realises what the world is really like and what society is pretending to be, he is trying to speak people's way out of the rat race, walking on their table showing them how much chocolate (the drug - everything commercial) is being forced down their throat. "The personality of rats are very social, expressive and talkative." - exactly as the people at the table carrying on with their conversation totally ignorant of the guy with the strange opinion, which eventually is being censored from society and taken away by the guards whose duty is to supress any controversies rising against the "ruling class". He is forced to drive to the same place where the blindfolded guy appearing in the beginning (probably another "outcast") was taken to also. Ahh so many little details. Even the white shirt which remains in the car at 0:07 might be a symbol of his soul which is stolen away from him and left behind once constrained to adhering to their rules and pretending he didn't see the truth.. man.. whole essays can be made based on Matt's work it's crazy:))
