Cream, Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills & Nash, Foo Fighters (sorta), Audioslave and Them Crooked Vultures are a few other examples. They will never be a super band because they are horrible live. They are god awful. LOL. Their studio work is godsend and tom is a great writer but yeahhhh. What do "super groups" that sell out arenas have in common? They are GOOD live.

Tom has said since the beginning of AvA that it isn’t a band. It’s a musical project. The members are exchangeable as well as the themes and overall vibe of the music. AvA is an experiment.
You NEED to give AVA more time, imo seriously underrated. Their songs, take you for a ride....chuck you up, drop you off and make you fly. Tom is a lyrical genius 👍

Tom performs a lot of songs without guitar in this band, so that’s why he was comfortable without it. I think you’d really like their last album, The Dream Walker. It’s probably the most similar to this out of anything in their catalogue. Great reaction!!

The War by Angels and Airwaves would be a good one to open him up to their first album. It would fall more in line with what he likes listening to as far as heavier tones

Personally I’ve never really been able to get into Angles and Airwaves they have random songs here and there they I dig (including this) but this gives me vibes of Toms other band he did with Travis called Box Car Racer. Like the like child of BCR and Angels and Airwaves
I'll be straight up here... I haven't been the biggest fan of AvA's newest stuff. I was hoping for more I-Empire stuff, inspirational, heroic vibes. I don't feel that here with many of their latest releases this - but I can definitely appreciate and enjoy where AvA is exploring and expanding. With the roster change ups like Atom and Matt I imagine there's a difference in style that would take place. All being said, I loved Rebel Girl and Kiss & Tell, they were aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome.
