My #1 tip is to see the Dwarf mongooses cuz they perform acts of gymnastics on each other. Also don’t pay for up close parking…just go all the way to the top of the hill take a left then an immediate right and sneak in the back way to the prime parking ….shhh
New to your channel! Planning a trip to SD. Is there stroller parking if we are getting on the african tram? I’m assuming it makes a loop and brings you back to the start?
@@moanakai301 Yes! There is a big area to park strollers. You take them through the line and then when you get toward the front a worker will direct you to the stroller parking. And then when you get off the tram, it’s connected right there at the exit and super easy to get your stroller.
It’s going to be 107 here on Sunday. The Safari Park is the last place I want to be. That being said, October is a fair bit away and temps my die down by then. Especially closer to Halloween.
Cool tips! we are going to all three, zoo park/safari plus seaworld. any recommendation for a good order of visit to each park? do you recommend to take a day break in between each or cram them in 3 days lol? Also if you have any tips for good hotel options close to all 3 parks that would be amazing!
I don't have any hotel recommendations unfortunately. But the safari park is significantly further away from the Zoo and SeaWorld, so I would pick something closer to those two and just make the trek for the safari park day. I don't think it particularly matters what order you visit, but I would definitely NOT go to SeaWorld on a Saturday if it can be avoided. It's better to visit there on a weekday. The Zoo is a bit more forgiving on a weekend, but I would still arrive earlier than Noon to be sure you can get parking. The Safari Park will be the most flexible of all three parks, and while it can still be busy, they have a massive amount of parking and the park itself is huge so it never feels crowded.
I have a question, what animal is best to see first. Not crowd wise but the animal that would be out. For the Oregon zoo it's the Lions and Chimps. There more active in the morning.
I have seen the Lion active at different times so that’s hard to say. In terms of crowds, the Tigers and Gorillas get the busiest so I usually recommend going one of those two places first.
I think the only difference is length of time. Due to the extra length they may get to see more/different animals but without having done both to directly compare I couldn’t say for certain.

Was planning to go beginning of October but you said “heat” so I might have to go to a Tacos El Gordo instead.

Yes! Anyone can go on the Africa Tram at no extra cost.
Cheetah Run is closed and been closed since before COVID, don't bother asking the volunteers.
