- first video in a while as I've been focusing on uni deadlines buuuuut here's my acne journey!
it is important to remember that everyone's skin & process to clearing up their acne is different! i feel really lucky that i was able to clear up my skin within a few months but i recognise this isn't the same for everyone. it is so important to normalise acne and 'bad skin' and I hope this video helps anyone struggling with acne at the moment x

I’ve just been prescribed this at 23 years of age! My acne just randomly came out of no where. I’m hoping it helps me. Love this video x
i was the same! just happened so randomly. thank you x good luck!!
omg this video has really helped me to build up to courage to taking these tablets as i was super nervous about the acne getting better and then when i stop using the tablet it would get worse, so appreciated girlie! 💕💕x
Awww you’re so welcome!! ❤️❤️
been searching for a video like this because I’m currently having the same problem where I think my skins better and then it’s worse ! it felt more disheartening because when topical creams used to work for me they’d work almost straight away but your skin transformations amazing so I’m holding out😃x
Thank you!! How is your skin now?
I'm currently on my second month of Lymecycline, and I wished for more videos like this before I started! Like yourself, my skin has periods of times where it looked better, and times where it flares up again, so it's encouraging to see it does truly get better :) Hope you have a fab hot girl summer 🧡🌞xo
it’s so frustrating when you think it’s doing better but then flares up again isn’t it! just got to remind yourself to trust the process. i’m glad this video helped!! good luck
@@niasmakeup Thank you lovely 🥺💕
Hi! I'm also in the second month of Lymecycline..and does your skin has shown improvement? Like mine....in the first month right away I took the first 💊 my skin look better.. it was so dry and then a bit smooth. Then I run out of the medicine and like.. few days without my skin ( specially my neck started to fully cover with acne and hyperpigmentation) does something like that happen to you as well? Or is just me?
@@cami1071 FINALLY someone who is going though this! i ran out of my tablets and my skin has flared up so much again.. any tips??
Such an encouraging honest video. Thanks so much for sharing your journey to see your genuine smile at the end. It gave me home. You've inspired me to start my course of treatment 😊
This makes me so happy!! How are you finding it? Thanks x
i've just been prescribed lymecycline, thank you for giving me hope!
Just started my second month, I needed this video as I’ve had a massive flare up over night ☺️🤍
it happens, i know it’s hard but keep going !! good luck
So did it work?
@@maramialanzi1730 not for me. I’ve switched over to Korean skincare now
I so needed to see this and you're GLOWING! It was so useful to show us your journey, you have an amazing personality, attitude and resilience. I'm so happy for you that it worked and managed to clear up your acne.
I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow and ask for lymecycline prescription.
Please can you upload more videos on your skin care routine? Trial skin care products and reviews etc? Would love to see more of you! :D
Hey Nia, just saw you loved my comment. I thought I'll share my progress.
So my doctor prescribed me with the lymecycline tablets and Epiduo 0.1% Adapalene 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide gel.
You'll never guess what.. All of my acne is now GONE! Ever since I've been on these tablets and gel (24/12/21) I haven't had any new spots and all my old acne is gone. I still have very faint pigmentation but it's barely noticeable. These medications worked from the first week. It's a 3 month prescription but after my 1st month, I was basically acne free.
I can't thank you enough for sharing your experience. All these high street products like retinol serums, vitamin c, aha, bha products was useless and a waste of money to me. It may work for some but it didn't work at all. I guess from now on I learnt, whenever I have any issues go to the doc first!
@@j6kkn i hate to break it to you, but adapelene/differin is a retinoid and benzoyl peroxide is an AHA x
Omg this makes me so happy! I’m so glad it worked for you too, how is your skin now? Mine has stayed clear thank god!
@@niasmakeup my skin is still in good shape thanks to you :D I use cetaphil sensitive face cleanser every morning and night. Then cerave day and night moisturiser. I sometime need to dab the Epiduo cream when a random spot crops up but it's minor. Overall I'm a happy bunny.
ahhh that’s so great !!! so happy for you - honestly epiduo is the holy grail i don’t think i would have survived without it🤣
This has made me feel much better about my journey so thank you for sharing! I’m just starting week 4 and been really struggling with the breakouts and rashes so much so that I thought about stopping but I’ll power through. Your results are incredible 😍
i’m so glad this helped!! yessss it can be so disheartening not seeing a difference right away but i just thought of it like my skin getting rid of all the ‘impurities’ before it starts clearing. Thank you lovely!! good luck
Update please
@@mohammadabbas9179 Heyy, I suffered with the side affects for about 6 weeks and the last few weeks of treatment was when everything really cleared up and now several months on my skin is still very clear with only the occasional blemish. Honesty SO worth powering through, trust me & good luck ☺️
Thanku for the reply.. what kind of side effects you were encountered with. I m on 4th week and my breakouts are worse than before. How long will ot take to clear up things

@@mohammadabbas9179 Hey, did things clear up in the end, im on 5th week and havent seen an improvement
Thank you for this video! I’m currently on my 1st month of doxycycline for acne 🤞🏽so happy for your results with lymecycline!
Thank you!! How is your skin doing now?
I just got this medication yesterday too, though it's called Lymecyclin Actavis for me. On the package from the doctor it said to take with a light meal, with no milk or egg products.
Hey girl I’ve been on lymecycline for almost 2 weeks now so having hope 🤞🏻I’ve had an increase in breakouts so praying that’s my skin doing it’s thing xx
Any updates? Had it since November but I don’t see much difference yet 😭😭😭
@@starr2870 almost finished my 6 months and I haven’t had a spot in 2 months! Best option for me xx
I’ve been using it for 2 months and one week. I really started losing hope because my skin is not getting better but much worser. But after this video amma try to not give up. thank you girl love ur video♥️
i’m so glad this helped! i know how disheartening it is not seeing results straight away but just keep going!! keep your end goal in mind. thank you❤️
she is GLOWING
thank you beautiful
Buzzing for you, hope it has still worked for you! 7 years ago I was on very strong antibiotics for my skin and worked really well and cleared my skin, 4 years later though I broke out again. I was on this medication 3 years ago and worked amazingly for me. 3 years later though to now my skin has gotten bad again so I’ve been prescribed this medication again, antibiotics have always worked better for me rather than creams. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm
thank you!!! i’ve been off this medication for almost a month now & seems to be okay for now, fingers crossed!! ahhh a couple people have told me whenever they break out again they go back to lymecycline too, that’s something i’ll probably have to prepare for but it seems to work so i don’t mind! good luck!
I'm glad you're doing so much better now after taking the antibiotics! But you need to know that taking them for too long will cause health issues, I suggest you look into consequences of prolonged use of antibiotics (damaged gut, antibiotics resistance, etc). I also think that not drinking milk (consuming dairy) has contributed to your healing process and you should try continuing that when you get off antibiotics to see if it actually does improve your skin. Anyway this was a very informative video and I wish you all the best in the future! :)
I think that may have helped too!! Thank you:)
Glad to see that it helped you. I've been using lymecycline for 24 days now and I'm still seeing no improvement
Think it takes about 1 month before BIG results 😉😁. Hang in there
@@DezNutz-op4ew It has started to work. Only got scars now
@@fisch0182 what about now?
@@steffen2913 I started seeing real improvement after 30 days.
Now about 3 Months have passed since I used my last tablet. My face is still clean but I'm still using cremes that my doc gave me
I used it for a month and it helped me a lot. However, when i stopped using this antibiotic, the acnes just come back
Omgosh I started this a few days ago alongside differin gel. Can't wait for results like this !!
ahhhh so exciting, good luck lovely !!
@@niasmakeup thank you, no side effects but I'm hopeful. I know it takes time to start working :)
it’s probably different for everyone !! you’ll get there
Omg! I’ve been getting a bad rash on my neck since I’ve started taking these tablets and I just assumed it was eczema but it makes more sense for it to be from the tablets
I experienced the same. Think it's because of the high dose of antibiotics.
Hi, I just want to say why dont you use a micellar water then a gentle cleanser then apply the epiduo then apply moisturiser instead of just using the dove soap?? Try that if your still struggling with acne it might have been the fact that you haven't removed your makeup correctly I hope that helps 😁😁
I start the same meds as you today! Seeing how happy you are at the end makes this long journey seem way more worth it! Thank you for this! 💗 p.s you look amazing 😻
how was it? it was prescribed to me and im afraid of the side effects pls enlighten me
@@hellosaimongtanan I’ll be 100% honest with you.
(1) The inflammation I had on my cheeks went down quiet fast which was good.
(2) The acne calmed down by a good 60% so far
(3)I do have some scaring even though I didn’t touch or pick them, that’s just how some peoples skin reacts
(I’ll be using chemical peels from the ordinary and Vitiman c and other lotions too help fade the scars that have done in the past)
(4) A side affect I had was either caused solely on this medication or a combo of my normal meds and the acne meds or just my normal meds (relatively new on them) I have had stomach issues from a little bit of nausea here and there but nothing bad just feel a little bleh then it goes away
(5) most annoying side affect was diarrhoea. Not uncomfortable but I was going a good 3x more a day
(6) Dry skin side effect. It’s common as the meds are too dry out the acne and it’s not unmanageable. I make sure to moisturise and use a good moisturiser. I’m currently using a salicylic acid cleanser and a hyaluronic acid moisturiser and cetaphil gentle skin cleanser
My skin is better than it ever was (except before the acne) but I’m only 1/3 of the way so far
@@megmeg2241 how about now?
@@steffen2913 side affect have went down. Don’t have any noticeable ones right now and my acne has calmed down a good 80% just a few small ones left that were the biggest sorest ones but they’re not red and any anymore. All I need now is to wait until they’ve gone down to use my chemical peel to help with the scarring which can happen depending on how severe your acne was which you get no matter what you do and eventually fade over time they have before. Chemical peel just gyms speed the process
@@megmeg2241 did you only use lymecyclin? or did you use it with epiduo or other type of cream?
did you use the epiduo throughout the whole process as well?

Do work lymecycline for rossacea?
Lymecycline was brilliant for me, acne was cleared and didn't come back
Hey girl! I know this was 2 years ago but did your acne come back when you stopped taking lymecycline? If it did how did you manage it? I’ve just been prescribed it but have read lots of horror stories online of it coming back 😅 Thanks for the video, so happy to see your acne went 💕💕
Hi I’m on the medicine atm, had it since November and I don’t see much difference yet 😭 I’m struggling so much w my skin right now but I believe it’ll definitely go xx I just have to wait and I’m also having a gp appointment soon
I love this video. I try all
The creams and when I thought it was cleared up it came back. Now I am starting theses pills. And really nervous lol about it. Do the doctors prescribe the cream you are on about ?
yeah they can !! i got mine at the pharmacy but my doctor reccommend it anyway
Very proud of you chicken xx
thanks mam x
Hi Nia thanks for this helpful video. Um just starting these tablets preying they’ll work soon. Can I ask are you continuing to take them or have stopped and if so has the spots stayed away? Thanks 😊
no problem! ahhh how exciting good luck! yeah i’ve continued to take them, going to speak to my doctor at the end of this box & see if i need to carry on or not
hi! how's it working for u xx
I've been on lymecyline for 2 weeks now. I'm constantly bloated, gassy and have slight diarrhea. God I hate it my digestion is screwed. My GP didn't warn me about the common side effects :(. I'm trying to eat yoghurt, garlic etc but garlic itself gives me digestion issues so I'm double screwed lool
How did it turn out?
Stinky winky 🤢🤮
Hi! I started Lymecycline around the same time as you and think I’ve now developed a resistance😢 have you had the same issue? If so where did you go from here? Thank you! Brilliant video x
I started them last December and I got off of them last week, my skins started to break out bad like it had before. Did the same happen to you? Did it go away again? Xx
Thank you! I’m sorry to hear that! I didn’t develop a resistance but i guess everyone reacts differently! How is you skin now? x

I also got acne breakout after having Covid. Used to have super skin.
On my 6th week of these antibiotics, and only now starting to see difference. I also added Skinoren and Tretinoin to my regiment at night, which made quite a difference.

I guess everyone is different but in my case my skin is still clear!
Hey there! Thanks for the video. How have you been since your stopped the treatment ? Because it worked fine for me, but as soon as October comes, acne comes back with it ! Does someone have this also?
It’s really annoying because every year it’s been the same, for 3 years now.
My skin is cleared and then acne comes back during winter and I have to take a new course !
Mine has stayed clear! I’ve had friends that go back on it whenever they have a flare up
Hello Mam can you please share all your skin care and treatment with Lymecycline because dr prescribe me this supplement with duac gel for 2 month but after using for 3week I am not feeling that much difference still have bad acne and sport on my face.thank you
Hi i included everything i used in the video x
I just finished my first month under it but I’m still getting breakouts. I am now going for my second month. Any tips and stories you guys wanna share when you are in my stage? 🥺
mine was the same! just stick with it, i really recommend the Epiduo gel it helped to calm down the new breakouts
Thanks, Nia! Can I buy it over the counter? And, what foods and drinks do you avoid and what skincare products are you using while taking this medication? :)
i think so, ordered mine online at Boots! i didn’t really change my food i just stopped drinking milk recently but i’m not sure if that made a difference. i kept washing my face with the Dove beauty bar & with breakouts i’d also wash using an antibacterial soap bar:)
You’re such an angel! Thank you so much for this! It’s truly helpful! Wish you all the best! 🤍

Did u always drink alot of water with it? Because i got esophagitis from doxycycline

Great vid -so helpful. So was it at the end of 3 months where you started to see the difference? Also did you have any reaction to the sun?
i’m glad this helped! it was after the 4th month my skin cleared completely. No i didn’t have any reactions to the sun!
@@niasmakeup yeah your skin is looking incred, congrats! I'm finishing week 8 but haven't really noticed much, maybe less sore but that's about it?
thank you !!! yeah mine was like that, first it got really bad then quite sore & THEN started to clear up, keep going !!
Plzzz suggest me good face wash for acne prone skin plzzz dear
I honestly SWEAR by Dove beauty bar. It’s so gentle. I literally use it to wash my makeup off & to cleanse after - less is more !!
Does this affect anyone else’s mental health and cause drowsiness a bit or is it just me
I actually felt like it affected my mental health the first week I had it! But my doctor said it’s not one of side effects. I also had horrific breakouts in the first week. I’m now on week 3/4 and my skin is glowing and I’m not feeling mentally drained
Starting mine today and st college in a month. Is my skin gonna be horrendous for my first day lol
i honestly think it depends on each person, just think the sooner you start the sooner you’ll see results! better to start now than in a months time

I've been on these years
Great results but and there is a REAL BUT...This med masked tooth decay l believe
...every time I have a break from taking them I end up with tooth abscess...over the years I am convinced this medication had contributed to losing lots of my teeth....by masking the dental issues...I might be wrong ...
I've cut starch and sugar out now skin is GREAT.!!! and am off the antibiotics ...and what teeth I have been left with seem to be ok ....would love to hear if anyone else has had the same issue ..???
Gosh that sounds awful! I’m sorry that happened to you. I didn’t have any problems with my teeth when i stopped that i’m aware of... Is it included in the list of side effects?
@@niasmakeup don't think dental issues are mentioned amongst side effects.
I have to say ive improved almost 100% since taking sugar out of my diet ...i also find a basic antiinflammatory med helps like ibuprofen.
Your doctor shouldn't have been prescribing these for years
Genuinely the practice is 3 month course than switch up on medication so you don't build a tolerance especially when it comes to antibiotics
Accutane is best if you've tried all else and you've got severe and persistant acne
So basically you took it for 6 months right ?
