    I remember one time I had a land that did something similar (memory is failing me atm. But it’s in the Forces of The Imperium precon) and on my turn I had no blockers, 1 hp, and was staring at 30 1/1 rat tokens and a 32/1 Colony Rat. So I just took myself out in a “I’m not giving you the satisfaction” kind of move.

      This interaction doesn't exist with tomb. Rishadan port taps a land, it doesn't force it to activate its mana ability. City of brass damages you no matter how its tapped. Ancient Tomb's damage is part of its mana ability.

    It might've been used as far back as 1996.

    Big brained is porting the City on it's owner's upkeep, but I can see how a smooth-brained commander player is confused by words.

    • @airtempest8945
      @airtempest8945 2 місяці тому

      I mean, in this case, Porting right away is better because more of the lands are tapped out and you're just going for the kill here since they're at 1 life and tapping the City will kill them, while if you wait 'till upkeep in this case, more of the lands are untapped that can actually be used, meaning you might get Stifled or something.
