I knitted a blanket for my grandson years ago, before I taught myself to crochet. I wanted to make a spiderman blanket that looked kind of like a web. It turned out to be a wavy type stitch, and I cannot remember how I did it, as I used to just make things without a pattern. I actually made ice cream koozies bc the containers were cold. And popsicle koozies cuz they were cold on the kids' hands. Baskets, you name it, I made it. No patterns, just my own mess. Crochet is so much easier, and patterns definitely help!! The point of this is, your stitch pattern here reminds me, somewhat, of my spiderman blanket. I can now make one for another grandchild, only I can crochet it instead of knitting, and having a stitch pattern will definitely help!!! Thank you very much. I love your work, and glad I found your channel.
Hello, I recently came across your video featuring the Ocean Swell Stitch, and I must say, it's both interesting and beautiful! The stitch pattern you demonstrated has such a captivating and intricate design. The way the stitches flow and create a sense of movement truly reminds me of the ocean waves. I can imagine this stitch being perfect for various crochet projects, whether it's a blanket, scarf, or even a sweater. The versatility of the Ocean Swell Stitch makes it an exciting choice for anyone looking to add depth and texture to their crochet work. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful stitch pattern with us! Keep up the great work!
wow!! wow!! wow!! what a beautiful stitch!!! I am sure that my mom would have loved to try this stitch....she was an avid crocheter and knitter and loved stitches like this!! I can also hear her say you can't do it!!! So just to stop her inner voice, I got some yarn out and yes I succeeded in doing the stitch following your excellent and wonderful directions. I wonder if it would make a beautiful bag!!!
I’ve been looking for a wavy stitch to use with some clearanced yarn in various shades of aqua and blue. This is it. I’m part of a group that makes blankets for kids with cancer, so I’m planning to use this pattern in my next project for them. Thank you for this beautiful pattern.
This is an amazing stitch!!! I love it. I bought 12 cakes of some blue striping yarn for a commissioned project but the customer didn't like it so I've been trying to figure out a project for it. My newest grandson's theme is sea life so I'm going to use this pattern and that yarn to make him a blanket. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Simply beautiful!!! I love that every Sunday at 8am, you come out with a new and beautiful crochet stitch.. you are consistent, and your projects/tutorials are beautiful, and I love your style of teaching. You're not boring to watch! I told my hubby I've been following your channel for 2yrs now and you don't disappoint. Thank you so much Sarah! You are a gift, just wanted you to know that. 💐💐💐
That's so incredibly beautiful. I think there's a lot of potential in making wall hangings of an ocean view with this stitch. Maybe the submarine incident?
I just love the name you gave it did you develop the style? Omg! I just moved to Florida and left ALL my crochet blankets in Montana, so this One blanket will be my Florida blanket!! Thank you!!
There are a few variations in doing this stitch and they are also called the Ocean Swells stitch…YT and Pinterest have a lot of tutorials thank you for yours 😊
Thank you very much for this beautiful stitch and for your very easy to follow tutorial. I have a question: I would like to start my project with a crochet ribbing and continue with this stitch. Do you have a suggestion on how to prepare the ribbing so I can start building up this stitch, or do you think that I should add the ribbing after to the finish product? Thank you very much. Kind regards
I would like to use this stitch in a textured baby blanket. How would I make the final row look like the starting row to allow me to continue on with a different texture pattern? The ending waves are quite pronounced. Are the stitch counts the same as the chain? Basically, square the edges up a bit. I hope this makes sense!
I love seeing what yarn and hook you’re using. In this video it looks like a Rowan hook but it’s red which isn’t on the website. It also looks like it may be interchangeable? Can you please tell me where I can look other than the link above.
Sooooo pretty. So many paterns to choose from. I will for sure do this one. 5 Ba y blankets to make. This would look amazing. If I don't screw it up. ❤
I have never seen something like this before. Even though I've been crocheting for 40 years. I sure like this pattern ❤
I always have my first cup of coffee with you on Sunday Morning. Love this stitch ♥
Gorgeous! You always teach the most beautiful stitches but this one is just amazing and the name is perfect.

Hi from Singapore.Nice stitch.
That’s beautiful! I bet it eats up the yarn, tho.
very pretty! Thank you!
Beautiful. I luv your content

What a pretty stitch. It would be pretty if you did the first 4 rows as a border on a blanket.
Love it

Beautiful stitch. How would you even out the sides?
Lovely! Any tips on how to square off the top row to make a square?
I basically asked the same thing. Still waiting for an answer. 😮😮

Just love this stitch!!!! How do you finish off last row if you want to make a border????
Wow
You're crochet hook looks very cool! I clicked on your affiliate link for the hook and it was not the same. Which hook are you using in this video
Looks like a mushroom to me!
I’m wondering how it will look in a lighter weight yarn and possibly using it for the flounce at the bottom of a layered tunic.
Sooooo pretty. So many paterns to choose from. I will for sure do this one. 5 Ba y blankets to make. This would look amazing. If I don't screw it up. ❤
Quick correction! At 11:09 (end of row 4) you say to chain 3, but in the written pattern you say to chain 1.
What is the best yarn for this. Want to make an afghan for my sister. Is it a yarn eater?
I would love to make this stitch into a top, but I have no idea how to increase and decrease this. Please tell me how!
How do I do this in the round please, for a hat for instance?
Could this pattern be worked c2c?
Possibly? I haven’t tried it 😀
💚🧶💚
very pretty, but, wow, I bet that seriously eats the yarn
Was thinking the same. Looks good for a nice warm sweater.
Beautiful ❤️🪝
