oh wait... you may get a UA-cam strike! ah ok - good reading - a shame you can't read what was written. Just bought the book on audible. loved your cadence. great man.

@@mike627 People who aren't black don't get to say that word,. It's sad you care so much about a white guy saying a racist term. Educate yourself please.

@@devilishdestiny9709 Saying the word isn't a privilege, nobody "gets" to say it. The word carries power, thats why Ellison wrote it, and not saying the word detracts from the power, and in turn the meaning, of the work. It's fine to disagree with someone but please don't simlpy tell them to educate themselves over a difference in opinion.

@@noted9902 I see your point of view, and I appreciate your breakdown and you rebuttal but heres mine:
The word is powerful enough on it's own, in the book for you to read. Some random guy on youtube should NOT be saying it during reading of the book. If this were a movie, we could be having a different conversation but it is ignorant to use the excuse "It's a work of art" against simply leaving a harmful slur out. Black people get to reclaim it. White people don't get to use if because of how it has been used in history. And I agree with your argument that the word is powerful because of its context but using that same logic again like i said, it's best to be left out of a simplistic reading of the book. Thank you.

If you’re white don’t say it. It’s not that hard.
