I’m currently in Phoenix, AZ as well highly considering moving to Houston or Dallas soon. I love AZ and the scenery is amazing but it’s more of a retirement community. Thanks for this video.
For the most part looks like you love living in Houston so far. You are 100% correct in terms of the cost of living in the Galleria area vs the suburbs. While it's tough to find anything nice for $1,000 in the Galleria area now, there are some hidden gems out there. ( not luxury apartments tough). I have been doing apartment locating for a bit over 2 years and I do feel the same about the fact that you can get an apartment that's 10x better in areas such as Katy, Cypress, even in the Woodlands for very similar price as in the inner city. Plus traffic in the Galleria area is getting out of control during rush hours. Love to connect man! Just subscribed to your channel.
… I’m a New Yorker, rodents are like our neighbors.. we don’t know them but we see them all the time 😂 Wanting to move out there with a job transfer. TY for the video.
Speaking in general you have to know how to shop for a high rise apartment in Uptown many of them get tax credits so they have to have so many low income units as part of their agreement with the City of Houston. Many of them are luxury apartments with skyline views of Uptown Downtown and the Texas Medical Center. Even in the vicinity of DT you have Hardy Yards luxury apartments and sever in MONTROSE.
Uber if you are going out in Houston or any major city. For one a DWI charge is expensive as hell, you don't risk your life or anyone elses, you are going to have to pay park anyways, and it burns your gas up. If you stay within Houston proper it may cost between 25-30 bucks to Uber to the venue you are going to and back. It's well worth the cost. Parking is free in the streets at night pretty much everywhere, but you just have to make sure you aren't parking in a tow zone, more than likely the vehicle will be good but it could always be broken in to or bumped by drunk people walking, and you have to keep an eye out walking back to the vehicle afterwards....especially women. It's just better to Uber.
There aren't any palm trees here, lol. I LOVE the greenery here tho. I'm from California and have been here in Houston for 4 years now. The trees here are BEAUTIFUL
Palms don’t do well here. We get a hard freeze for like 2 days every winter, but that’s enough to kill the palm species that grow super tall (like you see in Miami and LA).
Glad you are enjoying the city. I personally hate any establishment that has hookah lol. While there are a lot of those joints, there are plenty of places that don't do the hookah thing if it isn't your vibe. You're also absolutely right, some places do catfish on the food and it's more of an "ambiance" thing, rather than quality. There are a lot of great restaurants though, but they are usually not all that popular and serve a variety of different foods from around the world. I strongly suggest dodging the chain restaurants and popular spots and just google the best restaurants based on country or ethnicity.
I’m closing in on my retirement and I’d like to move from Houston to a warmer climate, but the prices on homes are stupidly ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%) do I just invest my spare cash into stock and wait for a housing crash or should I go ahead to buy a home anyways.
A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!
On the contrary, even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I am a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $750k took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect and profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $350k since then.
@@MarkFreeman-xi3rk I've been thinking of going that route been holding on to a bunch of stocks that keeps tanking and I don't know if to keep holding or just dump them, do think your Inv-coach could guide me with portfolio-restructuring as i wouldn’t mind a recommendation.

In your opinion what part of town should we be looking. By the way were not clubbers were empty nesters. Any help would be appreciated
Hey, thanks for subscribing!! I definitely think the Heights and Upper Kirby are some good areas to consider if you two would like to be in the city! If you want to be in the suburbs, I'd recommend Sugar Land, Richmond, Katy, Cypress, and Pearland!
Looking to move to katy are Sugarland suburbs Houston Texas what areas beast avoid hurricanes still close to downtown but do be in the down town area and also I know Texas do not have rental control also make sure I look for apartments' that 1 percent 3 percent I was doing my research on Tick tock so that's big concern of my"s.
Ain't no apartment in the suburbs that compare to the Arabella in Uptown nor Capital tower and others of Upper Kirby which is Houston's UK where they have red phone boots on each corner like London / River Oaks and my people live in Spring and The WOODLANDS which is Houston's Calabasas so 🛑 Houston is bigger than some New England states so you have plenty to uncover in your exploration 😊
it's getting really expensive in the Galleria area, you have to make good money if you want to live in a decent apartment complex, otherwise you will have rats and roaches no matter how often you call the office for the exterminators
Don't move into apartments..they don't spray properly and if you get a neighbor sometimes they bring Roaches with them and infest your home too. Was here about 2 1/2 years before I got a next door neighbor and she brought Roaches with her

I have been trying to move there for YEARS! They always say there are SO many opportunities and I caint land ONE! My background both education and experience are over 15 years and I have zero luck. Do you mind sharing how you landed a job in TX while living in AZ?
Forsure! For me, it’s pretty easy to get into real estate once you have your license, you just find somewhere to hang your license, so the barrier to entry is very low. Education wise, there are plenty of jobs across various school districts, and there is a shortage of teachers, so I suggest staying persistent, the right people will hire you!!
Depending on your industry, the job market here can be extremely competitive. They typically give priority to current Houston residents, because they don’t want to pay for relocation expenses. Make connections with hiring managers. That’s the only way you’ll have a shot.
