    I’ve never sprayed it but with a brush it goes on lovely. Pricey but good paint and of course beautiful colours 👍🏻. Nice spray job 😊

      It's sprayed aswell as it brushes... drying time is a pain unless you use there primer but overall good gear

    Great vlog. I have a basic Wagner sprayer I brought last year for doing the fences and it worked well. Have a £77 can of F&B paint for kitchen doors. Thinking of spraying rather than hand painting 🤨

    This was really useful. Thank you - new sub. Have been painting for 20 years and only just started spraying. Great to see 25% water added - will do that. I have 2 rooms of fitted bookshelves to paint this week, all prepped and knotted last week, and my cheap (£130!!) Wagner died on me.. Have bought a new one (😅£450!!) and am praying I have enough of everything - it's a total of around 70 odd shelves and carcasses. Am using the Modern Eggshell as I've found the Estate Eggshell just isn't durable enough.

    Hi. I'm new to your channel, thanks for the vids. You may already know but when using Farrow & Ball paint you need to use their primer which reduces drying time.

    I have F&B paint throughout my house. I will say that it is not the easiest to work with. It requires a bit of extra work to get full coverage but the colours are amazing and worth the extra effort IMO

    I have used some of their paint for a friend's project, where I have used a brush and I am not impressed with the paint considering the cost. Good video

    I agree it sprays lovely but drying times make it no good for me. Have you tried Valspar V700. I get great results with that and it dries quickly.

    Great video as usual. Just a couple of questions. Did you use F&B primer and where do you keep the painted items to dry, as you say it can take days to dry so does that mean you don't paint anything until they are dry? I only ask as I will be building a spray booth and wonder if I need a drying space/room. Thanks

    • @lowesjoinery3031
      @lowesjoinery3031  3 роки тому +1

      hello there.. so when i say they take a age to dry thats because im not using the F&B primer.. im using the acrylic primer from construction chemicals ... and i should of been more clear.. the drying im referring to is fully cured... its nice to spray but i now tend to go with the valspar v700 mixed to F&B shades drys lovley and i can use my primer then...
      but regarding the drying room id love one my self just dont have the room

    What size nozzle do you use on the gun? And what pressure do you set your compressor for spraying?

      Also would like to know this?

    • @GazStott
      @GazStott Рік тому

      @@sadatmb9826 He uses a 1.4mm nozzle for his top coats and a 2.0mm for his primer base coat, you have to water down the top coat and test, anything from 10% to 20%, in the video he uses 300ml paint and 100ml water, so that's a 25% water ratio to paint for the F&B, but other paints are not so thick and take less thinning. Trial and error with paints, but the smaller the nozzle the thinner the paint needs to be.

    First of all, ive been a decorator for 32 years and i have to say farrow and ball is the worst paint ever invented as for painting mdf we use a shellac to seal it and then paint dries in no time, using Crown fastflow satin can been used for exterior too, very hard wearing and can take a few knocks, just thin to use with spray gun, my paint merchant can mix to any farrow and ball colour, half the price 100 times better.

    • @lowesjoinery3031
      @lowesjoinery3031  3 роки тому

      I’ll be honest IV not used crown fastflow before.. would you recommend it .??

    • @chrispollard100
      @chrispollard100 3 роки тому

      @@lowesjoinery3031 I use it daily in my work for customers, I then noticed it can be used for external work so I gave it a go on my shed about 3 years ago and it still looks as goods as the day I did it. Haven't used with spray gun yet but will be giving it a go soon hopefully, it quite a thick paint, yes I would recommend it as for spraying i can't see a reason why it shouldn't be as good.
      PS iam fairly new to the woodworking job, just a hobby at the moment but the very keen learn things, thats how I found your video about the plunge saw and guide, most get myself one of those, is the erbauer one ok ? Have a few tool from them, never let me down yet

    • @lowesjoinery3031
      @lowesjoinery3031  2 роки тому

      I had the same opinion as you... I believe the cure time is down to the primer... it.must be there primer and durability isn't the beat but ok.. I thunk the name carrys it for them... but nice paint to spray tho
      I also use valspar v700.. much cheaper and dries better

      This paint was requested by my client (actually their designer), anyway i originally had PPG make this color in the Breakthrough satin any it came out great (closet door) but the customer insist on we use Farrow & Ball with their primer. 1 gal of Eggshell and 1 gal of their primer cost the client $257.13. The paint is latex. Very gummy and doesnt level out nice. IMO it is very horrible paint and very, very expensive.
