#warhammer40k #miniatures #gamesworkshop - Навчання та стиль
I’m not sure why this is in my recommended as I don’t do warhammer, but I wanted to take this time to say I’m 100% impressed with people who can paint these things, it’s quite amazing what they can do
same over here XD it just popped up
Odd. This is my exact situation. Recommended but never seen a warhammer video. I also completely agree!
Same here. Great video
@@fizzyheart2486 how
@@Equalsundew Join the people that hate seeing money in their wallets. its easy. Buy somemodels and paint. Got into warhammer by accident. Needed minis for a d&d campaign bought an age of sigmar box and now im hooked.
To be fair to the knight castellan, adding more of everything without considering the ramifications is exactly how the Imperium operates
Tbf tho they don’t look like they are just strapped on the look as if they would cover blind spots and add to it I kinda like the castellan
@@kezimodo218 gotta love the 4 melta guns
Sounds more like orks to me.
true normal space marines get 19 implants primaris get 3 more so more/bigger is better if you are imperialist^^
"3 hours built primed and painted"
And here I am, thinking that taking 2.5 hours to get my 5 Grey Knight Interceptors posed right was an accomplishment
You can paint a Knight in under 24 hours but will you be satisfied with the paint job is the question.
Interceptors are a challenge of their own depending in if you use the clear flyer stick or another means. Tho his knight pauldron hanging armor plate things are stiff and not flowing with the posture of the knight. Its the little things
Still is imo, only by the grace of the man-emperor can someone be a determined as that
Posed right = accomplishment! ❤️
Took me 2 hours to build my first modela simplish 40mm tank in WW3 Team yankee...
Watching this with my 5 year old son, he wants to start playing. Then as soon as you revealed the finished Knight my 4 year old daughter shouted "OMG it's so beautiful" now she wants to start playing lol. In a few years when they're able to make them and play I'm gonna go broke.
eh at that age the interests change rapidly , just tell them 40k went out of business sadly or something.
A SLA (resin) 3D printer would go far. Initial investment is high (~$400 USD for a small 6.23" printer + wash/cure station), but one bottle (1kg, $25) of resin got me proxies of 4 combat patrols, 2 additional kill teams, an ork battlewagon, and a few decent sized terrain pieces.
Careful. My dad tried getting me into it and it passed fast. I still love watching and all that though.
Just wait til their older to bring them to warhammer nights. Idk if it’s universal but the local ones are all guys in their 20’s pounding alcohol, swearing, and explaining lore while they play. Not exactly a great place for kids
@@scottretford1074 keep in mind that MSLA requires a lot of aftercare (cleaning, curing, sealing) and protective equipment, ventilation and safe storage of gnarly chems.
Not sure how i'd tackle that with kids around.
For a second I was like “nah, tinting ain’t it” but that purple actually has a kind of worn and bleached look that I really like. Kudos.
The old knight looks like an actual miniaturised machine, the new one looks like an art project if that makes sense :) I myself prefer the less color popping, less obvious edge highlighting grim-real look. Both are great works!
For me I want my knight to be the centerpiece and really extravagant due to the lore for my army
I feel like a lot of channels skip over the time it takes to build and prep it, so thank you for doing that.
the moment where he repeatedly said "this is so cooolll" I FELT THAT
this was so wholesome and these moments are what i love about building and painting
I'm glad knights are getting new rules to make them easier to put in armies. Some of my favourite models
Im honestly wondering if I can some how fudge a knight themed around my carcharodons army well into the army. (Yes carcharodons there different and will stand out a bit. Plus I love how overly edgy there lore is) I probably can I'm already gonna fudge some grey knights models into it as like chapter master body guards purely a cool looking fluff project. (I got some old ones like so old the box still has bolt gun metal as a paint suggestion on it for dirt cheap $33.00)
Yes, I have visions of a Knight alongside my Thousand Sons. An ancient war machine named Anubis. Original? Probably not. Cool? Most definitely.
@@FIRSTNAMELASTNAME-zt4kf I'm sure you could make a mega shark themed one, or even something like a Jaeger
Where was that announced? I must have missed that.
I wish I would find knight cool but they look too wonky for me. hard imagine them walking
This year I bought and magnetized a knight preceptor that I call “The Baron.” With school and sports eating into my free time, it took me 3 months to finish him. He’s one of my favorite models and easily my largest project.
The color scheme makes me think of stained glass, fitting in real well with the medieval vibe that the Knights have
That’s an awfully slaaneshy color scheme for a “loyalist”
Some tips for Oyumaru.
It works best when you let the silicone sit in properly boiling water for a time. It'll become extremely soft and you can cast really great detail with it.
Second is using Miliput to capture the detail. It's softer, and has a much finer grit that Green stuff.
Either way, The work you did looks awesome.
I have to agree that knights make a great addition to a collection because after I built and painted mine I've been very proud of it
Чувак, это потрясающая работа. Почему то очень напомнило мне, как я в детстве получил своего первого бионикла и собирал его от заката до рассвета
new guy here. don't know if someone has commented that ever but the music you use in your vids is really cool. love the synthpop/wave feel to it.
"This is one of the biggest models you can get"
Warlord Titan: "Am I a joke to you?!"
warbringer , reaver, warhound: Its okay big brother ....
manta: "sigh"
yes, you are
it's not even the biggest *knight* you can get, there are the Cerastus and Acastus Knights too.
He’s right though,he said “one of the biggest models you can get”
Tell me how many Models there are in 40k Scale that are bigger than that Knight, even including stuff on the Epic Scale and Adeptus Titanicus that are still being sold from GW. I guarantee it’s not a very long list, at most I’ll guess and say it’s perhaps around 80 individual Models.
Poor pilot model doesn't even get mentioned.
Those banners on the shoulders look amazing, really gives the knight something extra.
You’re editing and pacing has really been improving lately. A lot of these new videos have been great
I’m getting one of these for my birthday today! So it’s perfect seeing it built by a professional!
killed it on this, This must required so much energy - the plates hanging from the shoulders are dope
I love how by simply messing around in a challenge you may have accidentally painted one of your best looking models yet. I'm sure an hour or two of cleanup after sleep would almost make it competition worthy.
The shoulder flags look amazing!
This video is excellent, watching your unique painting techniques and airbrush work is soooo satisfying.
Keep it up!
this gives me nostalgia feels , i was always afraid of green stuff and trying to do my own things plus i did it in my room and at one point my parents told me to "go paint outside jesus christ the whole flat smells like the ghetto!" 20years ago , nowadays im clean but still from time to time admire great paintjobs and creativity reliving it through the eyes of others.
i admire your commitment to this craft , it is definately NOT for children (debatable) and quite pricey , but god damn if it isn´t one of the most entertaining accomplishing hobbies there is.
This gets me fired up to do this content, too. 24Hr Knight Challenge
I'm new to 40k and I love Knight Castellan, the embodiment of the phrase "Use a gun. And if that don't work... Use MORE gun!"
this video pushed me to finish the knight thats been on my desk for 6 months. thanks
I was really expecting a Black Templar Knight. But the purple is cool too.
I painted mine over two months with handbrushes, so this is pretty nuts.
I’ve never once played or looked into warhammer 40k but watched this all the way through
this guy is my personal hero, thanks for the vids man!
The castellan actually also looks a little smaller if you put it next to the knight. Like visually, because there are more small surfaces. It looks way bigger in photos, but IRL, it looks not that big.
From experience: UV resin with oyumaru will most likely cause issues, as it releases heat while curing, which will likely soften it and lose shape or detail. I used it once for some buttons and it was a mess.
Maybe multiple thin layers to keep the heat down.
Great job on the knight and video.
Also Nick's advertising voice reminds me of the radio in Brave Little Toaster.
Someone PLEASE make a 1 hour video with Jay saying "wow this is so cool"
I can feel the “taking awhile to get anywhere” feeling about building a large kit. I spent so long trying to get the Baneblade skirts right, once they were done it was a breeze
My first model that felt like a big project like that was definately the Riptide Battlesuit. Just sat there in the living room on a folding nightstand for hours on end just trying to put it together after having only done Fire Warriors and Crisis Suits.
Dude why do you have so few subscribers? You should have at least +200K with this awesome content! Some of the best paintjob I have seen in UA-cam and you are hella creative.
Surely a Knight to remember!
I barely know about this hobby, but 1) stuff looks sick
And 2) the pink purple one reminds me of tusk act 4 lmao
That’s pretty amazing, it almost looks like Easter candy ready to eat.
This is the first video of your’s I’ve seen and I’m so impressed. Great work
"I couldnt waste time"
*makes a funny sign for a throw away shot*
enjoyed the video Jay! looks awesome!!
My biggest complaint about the knight is the knees not bending. It's always just so wonky looking if you want it to look like it's in motion.
if you're willing to shell out the money, Forge World's Cerastus Knights are super poseable, right down to the toes and pistons.
I laughed so hard when you snapped that Base in half. I was not expecting it at all hahaha
i love the idea of painting a knight brand new and shiny colors and the longer that knight is "alive/created" to rust it out and dull it down a bit
Those shoulders look pretty badass for something done in 5 hours. Pretty cool!
i didnt realize the castelan was a newer model, thats insane, the medium knight looks so clean and fresh
This was so good, well made model and very entertaining video!
Woo! My critiqued Cadian is moderately famous!
Thanks for throwing my dude in there, lads!
I don't know a single thing about what went on during this video tbh but very impressive work sir. very fun to watch while stoned thank you.
I like this 24 hour challenge thing. Maybe you could do one for the models in Arena of Shades???
That would be rad!
I actually think the Castellan is the best knight. Everything you mentioned has rules for the Tabletop, like the two generators make exploding more likely and more devastating
Sure but for me the silhoutte of the shoulders look terribly silly. As Jay said, it looks like a 10-year-old was given the task of making it more badass.
I gotta complete the video but your dog is the cutest thing ever!
Just found your content and i love how you commentate! You sound super wholesome and friendly, the easy to follow almost tutorial like style of content is perfect for me. Subbed for sure!
*gets one of the nicest and most expensive Games Workshop models*
Alright guys I'm only going to paint this for one day!
Wait, nevermind. The dog helped too.
honestly...i prefer the old knight you painted more. All this oversaturation and high contrast thats in vogue lately is too jarring for my taste. The old one looked more realistic to me. Great work regardless
Great video. Love your enthusiasm and description of the process you used.
The imperfections on the green stuff plates look like battle damage
The titanic reference. Loved it
Ordered Cobalt Keep bases for Knightly pile of shame that I swore to tackle with the upcoming codex, they arrived today and I am super Impressed. Thanks for featuring them!
You and Goobertown Hobbies would be such a joy to see collab xD
Happy I found this channel (thanks algorithm!), your videos are top quality, great production value, narration and content. Definitely sticking around.
This was really fascinating! I’m pretty new been painting for about a year and I take my time. 50+ hour a model. I really enjoy the process and it’s good for my anxiety. Love listening to podcasts and lore while I enjoy it
Really love watching big models get painted! Thank you for the video!
14:35 That's is exactly how I ended up using TAP Speedpaints :D Black primer + light grey zenithal, and one to 2 thin coats of Speedpaints and, BOOM ! Nice piece of work done fast :) Painted around 30models in less than a week with this technique (and I'm not a full-time painter, only painting when I have the time^^) :)
Great Job !
Doggo knows when help is required
I loved this video and all the little humors inside. Especially the little bit focusing on the shield flags. Thanks for sharing this wonderful process!
Always great with help from your dog.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share it.
Watching this to prep for making my first army, great content!
The end product is awesome! Would definitely love to see a short vid on how you quickly did the metal components again. Looked fast and the end result was great!
That paint scheme is beautiful. Great job once again, jay.
Really impressed with the final results! Amazing work!
Woah totally agree about the Castellen!
Getting this on my recommended is the best! Amazing video and amazing work!!
Awesome video, really enjoyed this one! The enthusiasm is contagious.
This lovely result has inspired me. I have an action-man sized necron, and some space marines on motorbikes to do. So I have a few speed paints on order and I'm gonna use your preshade and glaze technique, but I'll be stippling as I have no airbrush. It's cool how people are using these "contrast paints" in ways it doesn't seem GW thought of - it's also cool you can now get "contrast paints" for less than 7 quid a pot! 😉
Epic AF Bro, that moment when the pauldrons connect… CHILLS! Also super cute pup! 👏👏👏❤️
Imma be honest I only collect the joy toys and don’t paint the models but I’ve been binge watching your channel. I love the content
Jay paints amazing. Love his attitude and attention to detail.
Super job! Love the your metal painting.
This is really awesome! Love the paint job and some extra parts on the shoulder pads. Would love to see a knight which looks like a real "Veteran" - a Freeblade like he had been battling for literally 10 thousand years like bullet marks, explosion marks, cuts, dents, bludgeon marks, scratched paints, etc... or even repaired or replaced parts and badges of honor. How epic it would look like.
I really appreciate your content and more power to your channel.
I really like your sunny disposition. You seem like a guy I would want to hang out with and learn about the game from.
I've spent days watching people's videos on painting big projects in a day instead of painting my big project
Jay with the "WALK THE DOG" sign in the back, we feel you man
That's awesome, love watching these kind of videos, I love models, love to paint them build them, I can get creative with the cars, the Warhammer type models I'm very basic, I wish I could paint like this, the creativity I see in these videos is amazing, always love to see peoples work
Amazing work!
It came out beautifully!
Great work!
I took 3 days to build mine but the longest working session was about 8 hours on day 1.
Plus - I started feeling sick on day 3 from all the plastic dust and glue fumes.
And at the last moment I realized that I don't have the right magnets for the arms so it took 2 more days to get and mount those.
Right now it stands on my shelf ready for painting.
As I don't use the airbrush I expect it to be a week long painting session.
!!! Love this, so glad you included building it in the challenge!
That looks bloody fantastic
Well well well, look at you. Getting a video with a half million views. Youre moving up in the world, my friend! congrats from an old fan!
Well, thanks UA-cam recommends. I loved this man, brilliant work, and great video.
7:30 that amazing feel you get when you’ve made something custom and special.
This is quite the amazing feat! …your dog is adorable too
Nice, it’s just the details like the heraldry to go. With the two Questoris knights you’re only a single unit away from a fieldable army now. Just some armigers would get you there and they are still awesome fun to paint.
I have commission painted dozens of Knights, for me the trick is definitely getting into a routine, I don't have to look at the instructions anymore so that saves time, I set myself a 1 sitting deadline for a Questoris or Dominus, my Cerastus and Acastus took a lot longer due to the amount of clean up and additional work needed with resin. . For Armigers I try to get 3 done per sitting. . I recently retired from comission work as it was spoiling my enjoyment of painting for myself. . I have over 100 imperial knights left paint in my collection so I have turned it into basically a production line. . I magnatize all the heads, shields and weapons so its easy to convert, swap out parts and add bits of extra details later.
This was awesome. Hopefully you paint more Knights in the future with experimental colour schemes. Keep up the good work.
Throughly enjoyed watching this video. Thank you!!!
