You're brave. I swear Golden Demon staff dropkick entries into the cabinets, attach the cabinets to paint shakers, load the paint shakers onto the back of a professional wrestler, send the professional wrestler through a flaming table, and only then will the judges be summoned.
There former Best Buy workers... they been know to play soccer with the Small tvs
I find it funny how Jay, despite being the black templar guy, grabbed a white scars for knee size reference
He probably wanted to show it off a little lol. Maybe he did it recently. Or the white scar was closest amd he was feeling lazy lol, i been there.
He's said before, once he finishes a mini he has trouble putting it down. It was most likely the latest thing he'd worked on at time of recording.
so what?
all space marines are either red, green or blue.
there is no difference
@@Xingmey saying this in a conversation about a white space marine... despite the fact EVERYTHING painted uses red green or blue is crazy schizoposting
Friendly tip for those "quick" epoxies: The time listed is an estimated WORKING time, not a CURING time. It generally means that, for example, a 5 minute epoxy, is that you have roughly 5 minutes to work with it as a smooth glue-like consistency before the curing process kicks in and it starts getting goopy and spider-webbing. It still takes hours for it to fully cure to full strength.
thank you, it even says on the packaging that it sets in 5 mins and takes like 24-48 hours to fully cure. People don't read things anymore lol.
You need to fix the bolt under the foot somehow
for future reference a thinner longer brush will get you straight lines a lot easier
10:10 seeing you swivel the big cannon out of your camera shot cracked me up
Awesome!
If you’re going for perfection the “VORA” of the SUTUR VORA would benefit from being a bit further to the right. As of now the VORA is also a tad bit larger letters than the SUTUR part.
But it looks great as is!
So nice... I hope to see you and your stompy in adepticon..!
wish you all the best Jay, best of luck. hope you have a great time and enjoy
Great job. Wish I could brush anywhere near that well.
Amazing work jay, only thing I’d add would be to change the colours of some of the pipes etc around the face! Titans should be dark, grimey, scared and covered in masses of freehand and heladry! They’ve been stomping around for 1000s of years and should wear the scars, grime and heraldry with pride! Looks brilliant mate keep up the good work!!
I wish I wad going to adepticon this year but I'm going to miss out sadly. I love seeing all the minis in the case especially when I've been watching them be created in videos.
That freehand on the knee pad is fantastic!
I'll be looking for this at Adepticon!
@EonsOfBattle Did you use a proper ratio mixing tip for that epoxy? This could be why it didn't harden quickly.
NGL the flames give off some heavy vibes. The titans name is Kyle now. I don't make the rules I just know them lol.
The paint reminds me of Megas XLR
I so enjoy your enthusiasm.
Jay rocks up to Adepticon with the reaver in a papoose; "excuse me good sir, which way to the creche?"
Tops best yet, Jay!!!🎉🎉🎉
Oh man, this was so epic until the streak and grime. That was brave!
Pictures of the titan buckled in or it didn't happen..! :)
Now all you need is two Warhounds and like 4 more knights in this paint scheme and you can play an apocalypse game as a titan maniple...
Could you send it to me…. I uhhh need to verify the titan…. Yeah? Yeah!
gun ran a across a bridge for 30min needs to be a clip
À 3d printer would save you about $1350 on that Titan. Or more. 😁
Get proper 2-part epoxy which comes in two separate tubes (and not the shit-awful double-tube). You can then add more hardener to epoxy if you want to speed up the process.
Looks like he's gingerly checking to see if the bathwater is still too hot.
House mark ?? As some off the titan decal are fantastic for war engines and dreadnought but the vehicle decal mmmm GW needs to do its decals a bit better especially for champion character edition war suits or dreadnought if your a bit more about Epic battle fantastic job that pretty. But the glue magnet?? 😃😄😁😆😅5 Smile's service terrain box 😊. Clean edge plastic glue pin it the JB weld is a polymer wouldn't recommend.
Excellent work 👍👍
sickkkkk!!!
I find those flame to be too cartoony for a competition
Oh my goodness. I bet this wins the competition
I'll take that bet
Noice
Pin the leg armor parts!!
$1,400 for a big titan model? That’s insane!
I built one for my son for
I made mine from matchsticks and used condoms.
7lbs?
that's nothing.... if somebody strugle with that weight, I wanna see them....
I can get a titan printed, assembled and painted for under 14€… people who brag with prices should wake up from their copium induced dream state
Sure but you can't submit it into golden demon, like Jay is
Don't really get your point? You can 3d print, big whoop, nobody cares. You are cleaning, assembling and painting that yourself so that is the only reason it costs 'nothing', unless you don't value your time. Getting a Titan painted to the standard Jay just did it would cost like 3-4 more times than the outlay of the Titan itself, as he said its hundreds of hours of work. He also didn't pay for it, he swapped it essentially for a paint job on a smaller Titan, he just telling you how much it costs to buy new from Forge World.
There is literally no way even printing a titan would be that cheap. Printing a warlord is around 4-5 bottles of resin. Good resin is at least $25 a bottle. So $100 minimum. Sounds like you’re the one with too much copium.
@@elibarker201 15$ cheap bulk resin from china, hollow printing with smartly placed supports. It’s a smaller titan so it’s not even the full bottle of resin. I even counted the paint and basing material into the price my dude. I also printed a bigger Titan for 25$ and wasted a lot on supports. It’s a learning curve but not an expensive one
@@viciousyeen6644ok so it would be easier to do it with cheap materials but I have an all but impossible challenge for you. Do it without being a smug little gremlin. I know that’s asking a lot, but just like your NFTs I’m sure the value of doing so will appreciate in value.
The model was cool but the paint is hot garbage lol like are you 5 "oOhH FlaMeS" that thing had a chane until this blasphemous act destroyed it
So mean
What do you think legio sutruvora looks like?
You really need to do something with that big ol screw in the foot, as least paint it black so it doesn't stand out as much! Other than that he's looking absolutely magnificent!
I agree. Considering it is walking through mud, he could make it look like mud/water dropping down from the foot, or some kind of natural fiber that clung to the foot etc
Maybe one of those super-black paints.?
@@bora773YOO IMAGINE IF WE HAVE THAT BLACK ROD JUST BE A TREE HE’S STEPPING ON!!
Concept, he should try to work with some glue and sand and muddy textures so that it looks like the foot soaked up some of the puddle, and it's slowly dripping out from the center of the foot, kind of a Weep hole
I highly, highly, highly recommend covering up that massive screw. My eye goes to that instantly, and for Golden Demon they are not going to overlook that. Maybe covering it in a dark ruddy resin mixture to further sell the water effect, or putting a piece of terrain in there and blending it into the water?
It really doesn't matter, no offense to Jay but his painting won't go far in GD
I think finalist pin is definitely doable
@@snowy5628 update: false!
I don't even care for Warhammer 40K specifically, but your passion for your craft always makes these videos a joy to watch.
He's definitely gonna be on the bottom shelf of the glass cabinets 😂
I spent 6 months painting an Albion Truthsayer with a brush that had pretty much 5 hairs. That was a long, long time ago and even though I was really happy with it at the time it did bugger all to help my painting speed. Nice looking Titan mate, I appreciate the fact you paint armies really cleanly. I'm still trying to get my confidence up with just finishing the damned models in the first place.
Why punish yourself? You could buy a chunky brush at any hardware store for a couple of bucks or less.
I grew up on a small island and couldn't really find anyone else who had the hobby so I learned mostly by myself.
To say I learned the wrong thing so far as tools and the time it takes to paint things is an understatement! I've learned vastly more since then thankfully and that self-inflicted silliness ended long ago.
Dude, this type of art is PHENOMENAL. You literally went all out on this one and the details are amazing. Like, I would expect this to be amongst the top contenders at Golden Demon just for how much effort you put into it and it has paid off STUNNINGLY.
But, it reminds me of a this marble-/ceramic-like Titan model some guy made some years ago that was rejected as an entry by Golden Demon. The painting quality looked a lower level than your Titan, but he did a lot of freehand and generally it seemed like it should at the very least make it ito the event. But nope, rejected entry. What I'm saying is... I love your work and this looks INCREDIBLE... but with Golden Demon it's kind of like... waiting to get dropped over "a brightly coloured skink". GD has this thing of just looking at imperfections and disregarding all other outstanding effort over it because it isn't the cleanest paint job.
In your case... I think SOME of these points might trigger GD's odd way of rating models:
- The "rusty" turquoise might just be a little too blue/too bright instead of slightly more blended in
- The whole laser/plasma drybrushing around his eyes might trigger them due to it being a "simple" effect
- On one of the right tubes you can see a bit of a white line that runs across it, I think there might be another tiny blemish or two that give the model more character but can be a reason to get voted out early
- They might judge the screw being too easily visible under his left foot
- And there's too many difficult colours for their brain to process and it's not a skink, so yeah xD
No, but I think it's awesome, probably the best Titan paint job I've ever seen. You should send it in to see how far you get, but I know how GD judges can just look for the simple things to rate.
You don't need a better job of writing things down.... just watch your old videos.
You've got to fix the bolt that's attaching the foot to the base, Jay. Golden Daemon won't like it. That right there could very well be what causes you to NOT get a finalist pin.
Ooh boy more titan stuff! If I may, I think it'd be cool to have a Legions Imperialis/Adeptus Titanicus Reaver titan done identically to the large lad
PAINT SOME TAU MECHS PLEASE
That sounds ridiculously general, like a 'Hey, I certainly had problems with the mail already. Let's send a seven-pound table-top war machine across the county' - Jay idea.
I'm pretty sure they'll ding you for that massive bolt under Stompy's left foot. Maybe adding some of that epoxy resin over it to make a pillar of water and hitting it with that same transparent amber would help.
i LOVE this guy, Jay! But, I think that screw and bolt under his foot are going to be enough for them to not like it. Can you cover that in more resin to look like water so that it's hidden?
5 minute gang!!
Stompy's looking good. All the freehand turned out really well!
I have a magnifier which is exactly the same as that. It’s an amazing tool for mini painting, especially if you have eyesight problems. I have a few different headsets but they’re impractical because you have to use them up close. I also have a digital microscope that works great too for very small details.
Trolling GW with this monster xD
I love the scar, and the courage it took to make it.
Really hoping you'll get to paint some #InfinityTorchlight soon 🤩🔥
That is some very nice freehand on the kneecap.
Wouldn’t haven’t went white for the skulls just looks like pops too much instead of blending. Maybe bloody tally marks. Whole project is sick tho.
Bunch of models were broken last year, handled improperly or irresponsibly by staff. Good luck!
"I'm not good at freehand" proceeds to draw a perfect freehand. WUT bro
Sweet! You headed to Adepticon GD then? I purchased a reaver at the warhammer store there last year with the intent to enter it this year, but I can't figure out how to transport it from Hawaii...the airlines limit you to one carryon nowadays...and I need to carry the rest of my entries :D
well I spent most of feb working on sisters of battle and inquisition characters and some touches on knights
no one cares also i know where you live and who you are
Now trade it for a Warlord XD
Nice job with upgrading an already good paint job. Tip is to use a mechanical pencil to draw in your free hand. Keep up the good content
I'm surprised you don't use paint pens for freehanding, really love the Posca
Suturvora are Chaos aligned. I guess this would work in a 30k Context.
Paintjob is as stellar as ever but the pose does not make sense to me at all. Why would he lift the foot thats further forward for the next step? If the foot is about to come down the water streaking down makes no sense. Is he supposed to walk backwards?
Your free handing skills are phenomenal. I can only hope to mimic even a fraction of that talent in one of my projects one day.
I have had much better success with the 2 part epoxies that are in separate containers - a lot of times with the 1 push combos you don't get an even amount and that leads to bonding and curing issues.
I dont know shit about 40k but god damn is that thing a work of art. Absolutly amazing job god damn
HI GREAT VID, AWESOME TITAN! COULD I QUICKLY ASK WHAT DID YOU USE TO DO A TEST MODEL? ALSO WOULD I BE ABLE TO TEST MODEL SISTERS OF BATTLE USING IT? THANKS!
aww dude... if you need a stencil its really pretty easy to laser engrave one out of any kind of plastic. hell, any one of us who has a laser engraver could do it for you.
Use gloves when handling epoxy, that shit can give you nut allergies and shit years down the line.
This is great my only issue is with the way his legs are technically that leg would be on a downwards swing to land it in the water as it the forward most leg right?
Looks cool thou
Jay just watch your old videos, no need to search lost written notes if there is a documentation about it ;D
Your production videos are my favourites in the business. Keep up the good work. You’re very entertaining towatch. Always looking forward to the next one.
All that work and you didn't even podium place.
well have fun good luck and you need to do swag vid and vids of show and tune in to em as do em
7lbs is man handling? Oh we are headed for some scary times
Are you going to paint some Word Bearers to go with Suturovora?
Pretty sure streak and grim is a push down and twist cap 😂
for a cost of $1,400 that titan should be real!
Where did you get your magnifying lamp?
So excited you posted!
No D Tabbard?😅, you have two weeks!
I would not support a GW store over a FLGS.
if you want your armour to stick, magnetise it!
I think this is a little bigger than a space marine
Who is he doing the escalation against? I wanna watch him too
Stompie looks like he thru Mufasa off a cliff
he gave his titan the anakin scar my god
The base details were an amazing addition
could add scortch paint to the big melta
What was your result in the comp
Good grief this is a nerdy hobby
Jay buy a carseat and put the titan in the carseat
Day 4 of asking for a Mortarion paint job
