- I didn't really point out why it closed down. But here it is anyway.
So, the number of employees went down to a double-digit number, one person even said that it went down to a single digit number! Anyway, the studio was also not getting enough visitors. And by August 2004, they werent making anymore game shows, so the thing became useless. Thats why they did their last tour on April 30, 2005, and closed the thing for good. Then, in 2006, the Blue Man Group came along to buy Stage 18. And that ends that.
It appears that the building will be abandoned yet again. The Blue Man Group are leaving Universal Orlando after 14 years.
Blue Man Group was fuckin stupid. I went to see it and was pretty obvious that it was for people with autism issues. Also my mom went to nick studios as a kid and she said it wasn’t that good. In her eyes it was like a glorified school cafeteria.

The Nicktoons characters are still haunting the place...You can still hear Rocko's nervous voice, Ren's maniacal laughter, you can even briefly see Doug and his dog walking around, and the monsters from "AAh!! Real Monsters" running around....

Apparently a lot of stuff was left behind. Like: wall paper of Ren and Stimpy (and more) , murals of The Wild Thornberries, and nick signs! (There's more, I just forgot)
+Butt Head yeah they repainted over all of it octoberish of 2015 and took everything down. Nothing left of Nick studios in there

I may be late but I got to go to Nickelodeon Studios And Universal studios on the grand opening day! It was really fun! I loved the tour! And I saw the big brightly colored building with the Nickelodeon logo on top, I even went back a bunch of times after that, and in 2005 for the final tour. Sad to see it’s gone!

I agree it’s not a lie at all this capsule was dug up to move to the nick hotel after the Nickelodeon studios closed for good and once nick hotel closed after 11 years the capsule was moved again this time to the Nickelodeon studios in Burbank California where it remains as of today

I saw that studios of Nickelodeon when I was there in universal in 2003 and the studios was still here and like u said a year later in 2004 there weren’t making anymore game shows and became useless and that led to it being closed altogether in 2005

I went there in 2005 in March or April when I was one. I was born in Florida after school back in 2008-2011 I loved Twister,Jimmy Neutron,Jaws,Jurassic Park,Popeye,and alot more until I moved now Im sad.

The 💥"NICKELODEON TIME CAPSULE"💥 is not a lie. The time capsule use to be buried next to the studio, RIGHT NOW the time capsule has been arranged to the Nickelodeon Hotel Resort, where it now lies for the rest of the years, until April 30, 2042 :) At that exact date👌.
um.... the orlando one has shut down..... when the california one gets built they will move the capsule there. Sorry to ruin it for you :/

What exactly is filmed at Universal Studios Florida anymore these days? The concept was it was supposed to be a fully functional studio with places productions can do filming, but what productions film there now?
By this point, sometimes in stage 19, they film WWE or wrestling but as of 2021, I don’t think universal Florida cares about filming anymore, since by 2002 they wanted it just as a theme park and not a film studio

Okay, so first in 2005 the building is left vacant with 100% of the Nickelodeon decor inside, and the outdoor decor. Then in 2007 - 2015 only two of the buildings were somewhat left abandoned with the outside repainted and a good amount of Nickelodeon decor is still inside. And after they renovated the WHOLE building now it’s gonna be vacant again.

Hey! The lid you're referring to was changed, they updated it to look more modern and have simplistic writing on it for its new location. It's just for display so that people can visit the capsule and be informed of what's down there and when it'll be opened. The actual capsule is just a big orange tube lol.

The Strange thing is In 2006 even though Nick Studios Colors majority were painted over .... I think that was supposed to be the new Look For Nick With a White And Slime Color On the front with Nickelodeon over it instead of the 1992-2005 One. Nick On Sunset however had i mean Tons of their Programs Filming in LA so i see y that could've been a problem with Visitors because without Shows It's an abandoned area a lot so that could be a valid reason to y they left.

Disney Land makes a crapton of money when Nickelodeon Studios made about 20 dollars a day. (After 2000)
By June of 2001, they had to cut the tour down because the studio had seen such a big decline in visitors, despite Slime Time Live taping there.
