After reading the wiki article on Nickelodeon Studios, I realize how much of a treasure this video is. As far as I know, this is the last footage of all the signage and leftover remnants of Nickelodeon that remained in the building.
preludepatrick I got to see this “attraction” live, in the 90s. It’s very strange seeing it shut down. I honestly am grateful he snuck in and got this footage.
I know all the murals, signage, and most of the equipment have been removed since Adam’s documented visit, but I find it amazing how the studio remained almost entirely untouched for nearly 10 years following its closure. Adam has since been banned from Universal for this video, but I think we can all agree it was totally worth it on his part, this video is truly surreal and incredibly nostalgic

That's because the soundstage wasn't abandoned. It was still being used for active filming at the time he trespassed, as well as offices and a Blue Man Group prop workshop. He's running around an active building barely dodging employees and actors.
He was banned from Disney for life, but universal, I think was only 10 years.
Am I the only one who thinks they should have turned it into a museum?

Naoki Murakami And for exhibits, they could have the production equipment, animation cels, signs from the shows, and memorabilia from the shows (such as the Big Orange Couch, Marc Summers' podium, a Nick Arcade face off game, a locker from Think Fast, the board from Make the Grade, a boulder from the Aggro Crag, the Cousin Skeeter puppet, a few puppets from Allegra's Window, Olmec, and the Silver Monkey). And celebrities from Nickelodeon shows of that era could even make guest appearances during the tours!

Very true. weather they made it more adult friendly (for the kids that grew up on those shows in the 90's and know and understand the shows) or if they even kept them kinda close to the same with updates, etc.. Soundstage 19 (the former Nickelodeon Studios) is still an active soundstage used for productions and Halloween Horror Nights and is home to office space for Universal, including the Blue Man Group workshops. Adam is wandering around an active working building and acting like it's abandoned because he managed to not run into anyone.

Wow... Bravo... the room you mentioned is the Audition room.. I was there 4 times.. I was on Wild and Crazy Kids and Legends of the Hidden Temple.. I was a Purple Parrot... I was in those dressing rooms.. I remember all the art on the wall on the tours... The room up above looking down on stage 19... is where the voice of Omac came from....
That's awesome as a kid I always wanted to be on that show, except for getting caught by those temple guards. Sadly I lived in Arizona, and only watched kids on television do shows I wish I could be on. Were those obstacles and steps of knowledge a lot harder in real life rather than watching on television. Did you ever make it to the end and go into the temple?
So...was that the Game Lab, or was there a separate audition room as well? I never got to go to Nick Studios, and I wasn't alive during its heyday of the early 90s (I didn't come along 'til '96, lol), but I remember watching the old episodes of Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS on Nick GAS and watching Slime Time Live after school. But, I'm just curious as to whether or not there were multiple audition facilities. The way I understand it, they had the Game Lab and that was it.

actually very sad to see, knowing that its shut down for good now, its like the final nail in the coffin that was our childhoods, I miss those days, lookin back now, being 30, I mis those days sooooo much.

Watching this video in 2022 hurts my heart so much. This was my childhood and makes me want to be a kid again. I'm 26 now and seeing this just sends me on an emotional roller coaster from happiness to sadness to excitement of what was and heartbreak of what will no longer be. I wish I could go back in time even if it was just for 1 day and relive it all.

I had to come back to this video after Bright Sun FIlms new one. This building is such an iconic part of my childhood. I fantasized about being able to go to this place, see where they made the shows, BE ON A SHOW!? I'm incredibly jealous of all the kids and families who got to experience it. The building is obviously still maintained, and likely the elevator is still being inspected and re certified. It's an unused building on an otherwise active site - not really 'abandoned'.
true but all it takes is a lazy inspector, whats more concerning is the escalators. The park either has this is mind, we should keep on maintaining in good conditions or if someone dies they die lol

11 years later and I am just now finding this video. Never been to Nickelodeon Studios, but I was born in 79 and I basically grew up with them.
HULU has a really good documentary called The Orange Years, and I just now got done watching it. It's basically a must watch for anybody who is watching this video.

Branson Bayer I saw in a video kinda documentary about old Nick Studios that they moved the capsule to the new Hollywood Studios and buried it in a pretty public spot like under the front doors or something (don’t trust me on that last one) but it is indeed under Hollywood Studios patiently waiting for year 2034.

Although Adam was trespassed, I am glad Universal didn't force him to take this down. Maybe it was their way of allowing us to relive our childhoods.
this kinda made me want to cry, like to see how abandoned it looked. When he showed the NICK word with the K missing, (NIC) it made me sad, like that was the original logo with the splat. And the spongebob sticker, The Wild Thornberry's murals (which was my favorite show EVER), and the nickelodeon sharks, the ren and stimpy stuff, the old mirrors with the light bulbs around them, and the old school television, oh gosh i cant take it! I MISS THE OLD NICKELODEON!!! THEY NEED TO BRING THIS BACK IN 2015 OR 2016

I feel like a key point to the old episodes is that they were funny because you couldn't relate. Spongebob would be in situations that would never happen in real life. Now the show just tries to teach a lesson. Spongebob from 1999 to 2005 were like really funny and random UA-cam videos.

God, watching this gave me this huge feeling of nostalgia and sadness. If I was there, I would probably just sit in one of the chairs and put my head in my hands and cry! This makes me so emotional, so many awesome people have been in that building

What surprises me is how clean everything is. Especially that makeup room. Makes me think, every week or maybe every month, some janitor walks alone into that building scrubbing every inch of that studio, the scrubs echoing in the empty corridors, and though nothing will ever be used I don't think anybody could bear the thought of leaving the studio to rot and decay. It's better off to die in peace than in vain.

The fact they keep this building unlocked, with running lights and water, makes you wonder what they're actually doing with it. They need to turn it into a Nickelodeon museum, and charge people to tour it. They would get their money back that they're spending on operating an abandoned building.
It's all gone today. This video was shot 5 years ago. Even the escalator inside has been removed, all the decales and stuff are gone. There is a video of someone earlier this year in it.

Coming back to look at where the shows I grew up were filmed is such a trip. I'm glad I was able to experience Nickelodeon in the golden years and thank you Adam for the tour!

This soundstage is NOT closed.
I did a TV show called Game On! in August and September of 2012, so he was roaming this studio maybe a month before we loaded in. Soundstage 19 is still an active soundstage for filming and contains many offices and workshops for things like the Blue Man Group.
He's wandering around an active office building and soundstage. If he opened the fridge in the break room upstairs, he would have found drinks and snacks inside.
So awesome you managed to get in there in 2012 before it became blue man trash. Great childhood memories of seeing nick shows filmed at nick studios and than to see behind the scenes and all after abandoned. Really awesome stuff

So much nostalgia it almost hurts. I grew up and still live near there and it was always my dream to be on Double Dare. I tried so hard, but never heard back. Seeing this is so bittersweet. It’s like seeing the ghosts of my childhood.
Its funny to me, because most people on here are talking about the "good old days" being POST 911.. like 2002 and whatnut.. The "good old days" were 1992-96ish.. Spongebob hadn't even been thought of yet. It was shows most of you guys have never heard of like "Hey Dude" "Clarissa Explains It All" "Pete and Pete" "Doug" "Rugrats" .... Thats the good shit.
I think their good days was even before then. Like "You can do that on Television" this was when Nickelodeon was at its best.

I even felt unsettled watching that channel when I was a kid. Sadly, it turned out to be completely true.
I grew up in the 1990s (born in 1984), and was a huge fan of early 1990's Nickelodeon. I finally got a chance to actually see this building in person (and even saw a live taping in the soundstage - I forget what show it was) during a family trip in 2002. It's sad to see this building closed... our hotel room was directly across the street; we had a view of the facade from our hotel room!

It's funny how there's only one or two bits of wallspace for the other shows on Nickelodeon while Ren and Stimpy gets almost an entire floor of wallspace. I guess thats what you get for being one of the best shows on Nickelodeon.
You gotta remember, this is only half of the original Nickelodeon studio. The other half is now used for the Blue Man Group.

I liked seeing it but the whole time I was just annoyed. Maybe it's his use of the camera and the sounds when zooming in and out. Or maybe the very bad commentary and whispering?
It’s because he is using autofocus. I can tell because the autofocus is what’s causing the constant buzzing sound when he tries to focus.

Went there in the 90's and early 2000's. Saw the sets of Hi Honey I'm Home & Welcome Freshmen. They talked about prepping for a new show what turned out to be Clarissa Explains it All which was just about to start taping. Sat through a taping of Weinerville and Slime TIme Live. Most of the game shows were taped over the summer due to larger theme park crowds for audiences. They should have kept it open!!!
Even though I wasn't born in the 90's, I still did get to see a little hint of classic Nickelodeon since I was born in the 2000's ( 2002 ). It was too bad I didn't know that there was a Nickelodeon Studios and plus it would be too late to go to since it closed down in 2005. But seeing this made me sad. Somehow, I felt the same way that 90's kids felt... SAD! Just seeing everything abandoned, looking at the murals, and looking back at the good old days and how it isn't like today is sad! Knowing that nobody is there making shows and cartoons, not hearing anything like laughter is sad! All the cartoons and shows that everyone loved now discontinued and abandoned is also sad! Most of all the logo's that I remember with the splat, fun shapes, and the classic orange color is gone! They replaced it with only the words NICK. I really do miss the classic Nickelodeon. :( I hope it comes back someday.

You should have gone into the editing rooms and stuff, turned on the computers, maybe saw some files from shows like the raw animation. Footage from old shows, what the people were working on when they left work that day, anything! Maybe this year or the next you can go again? :D

+NetherAnimations (Gaming and Animation) This is what I was thinking. I would go there with tons of cords and a laptop to take files from all the computers/recordings from all the VHS tapes and upload them to the internet so we could have a more in depth view of how all the shows were produced.
monitors, cameras, cables. Cameras just have film stored, or how are you gonna watch it later, monitors have computers which then have storage or what is the point of saving the cameras footage, and cables plug the computers and cameras in so he can look. Problem solved

hate to break it to you but this building was bought and remodeled or so ive been told
there was a panel called "i love that era: 90's" i attended at a cosplay con last month and he discussed the history of nick and riped out our hearts by showing us pictures of the place now. even sadder is that they closed the resorts and hotels last year U.U
There's nothing left there now. The building is used as a storage facility and all of the Nickelodeon themed walls have been painted over

This has a somewhat eerie vibe to it after seeing quiet on set.
I was lucky that my parents took me there on a lark; lol because I begged. I was about 12 or 13 and watched them shoot an episode of Gullah, Gullah Island. Do you guys remember David the Nome; The Adventures of Maya the Bee; The Elephant Show: Sheryl, Louis, and Bram? And who could forget SNICK!!! Roundhouse; Are you Afraid of the Dark?; Pete & Pete...and my favorite--Space Cases!!! ❤️
Yes! Loved Pete&Pete, Roundhouse, Are you afraid of the dark, rockos modern life, Clarissa explains it all, the elephant show...so many shows. I LOVED Nickelodeon.
I remember all of those....I'm seriously sad that this particular location technically doesn't exist anymore....I mean, the buildings are there, but without the art from Nickelodeon, it's just not the same....it's not exciting....it looks like any other office building....

Everytime I come back to this and other related videos, I always remember this particular dream during my middle school years where I was exploring an alternative area that resembled forgotten nickelodeon classics. Just thinking about it makes me feel the sadness because the dream only showed me the reality of nickelodeon going downhill instead of letting me experience the nostalgia of the late 90's and early 2000's.
