If John was alive, he wouldn’t give a shit. The only thing John would care about are criticisms of himself from the other 3 Beatles. After all, it’s just rock and roll.
Put some sheet music in front of them then yeah The Beatles aren't the so-called "best" musicians, they couldn't even read tablature. But ask them to come up with a SONG and then it's quite obvious there's never been any group of musicians better in the history of recorded music--ever.
Quincy Jones is well known for three things. He has a gigantic ego and is a total asshole. He hates Elvis Presley and thinks he had no talent. And, he hates The Beatles. A closer examination also shows he didn't respect George Martin or Phil Spector. I think he was tremendously jealous of George Martin and Spector as well, for all of the credit and praise that rock music journalists and critics have given them over the years. In contrast, many rock critics actually don't rate Jones very high. I have no respect for Jones as a producer or a person. He's totally irrelevant as far as rock and roll.
Paul McCartney, bass player, singer, writer, keyboards, drums, guitar, and who knows whatever other instruments he can play. Not a good musician? Really?
True. Many sessioners better than the Beatles, who's strength was really in their great compositions and harmonies. Their improvisations for their instrumental inadequacies were part of their charm, though.
Who could possibly care what Quincy Jones think The Beatles were heavyweight big successes great songwriters Perhaps mister Jones was a bit jealous Ha ha

Quincy Jones produced three of Michael Jackson's iconic albums Off The Wall, THRILLER! which is the greatest selling album in music history, and Bad. Their's a difference between producing an album that sells and something that stands the test of time. Thriller was a hit because it was performed by Michael Jackson. There was certainly nothing profound about the writing or musical arrangements.
The Beatles have always been vastly over rated. They barely influenced music for a single generation and we were split between the Beatles, the Stones, Cream and Led Zeppelin.
The Beatles defined the 60's more so than the Stones or Cream could've ever dreamed of. Firstly, the Stones' best records didn't come until '71 and '72 with Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street. Cream is actually the overrated band in your list... and Zeppelin didn't come around until '69; The last year the Beatles were a formed band. Not to mention the fact that the other three bands you mentioned were all inspired by the Beatles plus literally every other band that came after them. @@FlippyD1998 the Stones recorded some of the greatest songs of the 1960’s. To say their greatest albums were Sticky Finger and Exile is once again an opinion. How about Beggars Banquet (1968) and Let It Bleed (1969)? Two incredible albums. I would also consider the Stones to be a band that mirrored the 1960’s to a T.
