Honda Hornets have the CBR600 Engine (the carbs are 2mm smaller to lower power by 10hp) to make this a commuter bike, put the bigger carbs back on and they are a CBR600 once again, Engine internals are identical! I have had 2 Hornet 600's Half faired Hornets a little quicker due to less wind resistance.. 145mph as standard. Lovely lively Engine and handling is good too. A bit outdated now, but still keeps up with bigger (non racing bikes) Small tank lets it down and Honda Rectifier/Alternator issues! all Honda's suffer this! If the 900 Hornet kept the CBR900 Fireblade Internals.. it would of been a beast! but they changed the crank and head to be smaller! Honda Hornet 900 still fast 150-155 ish. 10mph less than the Fireblade the engine came from. 600 Hornet can do nearly the same, when 36mm carbs are put back on! You can put a CBR900 Engine straight into a Hornet 900! That is a new kind of beast ;o)
The Speed Shown is correct, and sprockets are normal.. however when you check the speed with GPS.. the speedo is out by 10 mph.. this happens with analogue speedos the higher you go in speed you lose a little.. for instance my Subaru 2lt turbo could go 155mph, quite quickly for a 2 litre car back then! but when it was GPS checked it was 147mph.. you lose some speed as you get faster! so this Bike is actually doing 145mph and over reading by 10mph (it is the CBR 600 1997 engine (it did 155mph) but detuned by 10 HP) so it is correct for this bike.. 145 mph..
Look at the start where the speedo says 60 - looks more like 30 to me. Also it does 100-200 in about 6 seconds on the speedo. That is faster than a MT-09 or Z900.
They are naked (no fairing) so wind stops you.. speedo is over reading or the sprockets have been changed.. 140mph and 145mph on a less windy day down a slope ;o) It shows 250kmh when he is riding.. not 260mph that's 155! the engine is from the 90's cbr 600 and that did do 150 mph (with proper tuning and more horses and plastic fairings to speed it up) I believe the carbs and exhaust ports slow the hornet down! time for some tuning lol
It was actually 250KMH= 155 mph.. this bike has the engine from the 90's CBR600 which did do 150.. I think that just like cars and bikes the faster you go the more the speedo error creeps in.. my Ninja 600 was showing 168mph on a long straight slightly downhill (off the road Coppers) .. when I GPS checked it.. it was 158mph so 10mph less was the actual speed shown.. so 145mph is about right ;o) Hornets are lovely bikes.. but the engine sounds like a bag of spanners ;o/
@@MrElnay Well that explains it, 0 to about 120kph about the same, but the 919 will start to get the edge after that, the 919 will take the 600 top end, 260, normal max out for the 600f 220 to 230. thats my expereince anyway.

Because of wind. I have 90kilo's and183cm and i was driving 240kmph on GPS. On full stock engine but i had a exhaust and modified airbox. CBR 600hornet 01'
well the rev counter is off as the 900 version tops out around 9000rpm I have the 600f they are near both the same off the line, all the way to the top end, .my take in reality is for an extra 300and bit cc more for the 900f your geting near nothing bwtween the 2 on performence. @@MrElnay

people forget that the cb900f 02 on bike have the efi motor that was in the full fairing "race" bikes they see its an upright bike with mx style bars and think its a slow commuter when this is far from the truth i regularly surprise a "sport" bike riders on my 02 cb900f they are said to be right behind/close contender to the R1 of the time
You mean the Hornet 919? I have a 2005 model, a real torque monster but I don't think it would match any R1. The bike in this video is a 600 hornet I think, white face gauges and a higher red line (12,000rpm), 919 red lines at only 9500 rpm
You are right my friend, The 900 Hornet is a detuned 900 fireblade 918 engine! it says on Motorcycle news that it only does 135mph!! (that's not true, i've ridden one) the HEAD/valves on the bike and carbs are smaller on the 900 Hornet (that's the restriction) the 900 fireblade 918 did 165mph (back then was fast) I imagine the 900 hornet is 145mph+ like the 1200 bandit, and easily modded to go faster ;o)

проверял на своем, по передачам тоже самое, 3-я до 180 как на видео, 4-я где-то до 215, 5-я до 235 потом на 6й до 245 и сбросил, до 200 примерно как на видео едет, после 200 соглашусь что по тупее
