What's up you guys, After Show Reacts here and today I'm reacting to Stargate Atlantis! I have been selected to join the Atlantis expedition, to uncover the secrets of the lost city of The Ancients. Together with John Sheppard and his team I am going on missions, exploring worlds in the Pegasus galaxy, to find ZPM's to power our new home so we can defend ourselves against The Wraith.

16:47 The Daedalus could only detect the life signs of Ronan, Teyla and that family on the planet. Which means those dumb dumbs who said they could outrun the cloud to the river were already dead. Never noticed that before, that they confirmed that they all died, but makes total sense.

    When in doubt, hyper space.

Couldn't they teleport everyone up to the Daedalus and then down to the opposite side of the planet while waiting between Daedalus trips, the ash cloud would eventually cause a problem there but not before all the back and forth trips and would move everyone from the very dangerous area of the planet to the least dangerous part.

That episode where they beamed the whole building into space was so dumb lol.

Why? I mean, did you find the Asgard deleting Heru'ur's pyramids (or pyramid-ships, I can't recall exactly) in season two dumb as well?

@@ralmek1709 Dumb might be the wrong word, more inconsistent, and that example you gave is another example.

@@gaara_of_the_desert1118 Fair enough. Would you mind giving an example of the inconcictency? (Where it should've been used and when?) I really am curious, and don't see it myself; not that I would ever pretend to remember everything.

@@ralmek1709 It's kind of like the Zat's 3rd shot in that it kind of just never gets used to it's full potential because it would make things too easy, one easy example was sort of mentioned in this video, just beam ships away, but sci-fi jargon could explain that away with shields or whatever. It's just weird that the big building thing only ever happens once, twice if you count the deletion of the pyramids, but that's a lot different being the first appearance they obviously hadn't really thought it out so it kind of just looks like a vacuum cleaner rather than teleporting individual objects.

@@gaara_of_the_desert1118 It's funny. My problem with the Zats always stemmed not really from the concept of the capabilities, but that it would work consistently on everyone (and thus presumably everything, too); like, Teal'c says in the episode they're introduced in (the Zats) that the second shot kills MOST subjects, but then it just does, every time; except when it did not fully kill Lantash and the Tok'ra were able to save him. I think I would've been fine if lots of shot could disintegrate objects, depending on size or type. If it was a staff-weapon, for example, I think I could buy it, or the body, obviously, but if, say, someone did it to a gate or DHD or something, dear me! would that have been absurd.
I'm not sure if SGA(or U) was better in this manner, but SG-1 is definitely one where the complete explanations are missing. Although I did often find reasonable explanations when I used to spend my days thinking about this stuff.
In the season five finale (pretty sure it's that one), the Asgard scientist person says the transporter doesn't work through shields, which we see afterwards again and again.
Vacuum cleaner, that's funny. They changed the effect after, but in the episode, I remember it being the same for the pyramids as for the transporter scenes, with the obelisk(s) on the planet and the ship's own. Why it didn't vanish them all at once, I just assumed it was quicker to do it by parts blindly, as it were, than targetting the whole thing slower (maybe Thor was worried they might raised their shields, who knows, lul); or maybe the transporters were just an earlier model or something...

ooh, I hope you meant Star Trek looking bridge, because you'd have some salty Trekkies and Stargate fans livid with ships supposedly looking the same.
