    I live in the Virgin Islands and my rent for a small 2 bedroom condo is $2500. Plus food and gas and everything else is about 30% more than in the US.

      Wow! I've heard that the Virgin Islands are more expensive. I would assume that has to do with shipping items there. I've always understood island living is more expensive the further you are from any mainland. Thanks for your insight into your living expenses.

    well it seems extremely cheap for us living in USA or Europe bcz we are comparing those numbers to our salaries here in the USA/Europe BUT I'm pretty sure the salaries in Queretaro and Mexico in general are not even close to the money we make here in USA/Europe, so without a realistic salary information is impossible to know if those numbers are cheap or not for someone doing the same type of job we do in USA/Europe over there in Queretaro

We have no babies and will only be shopping at supermercados for absolute minimums. Mercados de pulgas and mercado de fruta will be where we do most of our business. So many Americans want to live in a foreign land and maintain a US mentality. That is one thing, as I understand it that pisses off the natives!

    • @chandie5298
      @chandie5298 Рік тому

      the numbers don't work for that to be true.
      Mexico City has the greatest percentage of non-Mexicans of any city in Mexico and that number represents just barely over 1% of the population of Mexico City.
      1% cannot change the economy.
      What is happening is exactly the same thing that happened in China.
      China used to be super inexpensive however as manufacturing companies started doing business in China, they needed workers so people started moving to places where lots of jobs were being offered and the rate of pay for employees increased....and population density in those places increased.
      This causes property values to increase...and the cost of everything to increase. But it is balanced by rate of pay increasing due to companies having to compete against each other for the limited supply of local workers.
      This is standard economics.
      THAT is what is causing the cost of rent or food or electricity etc to increase.
      If you go to a small town where there has been no manufacturing growth etc, you'll find that the prices have not increased.
      But its easier to blame foreigners than to actually understand economics.
      To keep costs the same as they were a decade in the past, you would have to remove all the manufacturing and other jobs that have been created in Mexico in the last decade.
