Port Hardy Scuba Diving - October 2023 - Mola Mola _ Octopus

This collection of footage was from a recent trip to Port Hardy to dive with UBDiving (ubdiving.com/p.... The diving conditions were fantastic over the 3 days with great visibility. Coming across Mola Mola and a crazy octopus encounter were the highlights of the weekend.
Dive sites included Gooseneck Grotto, Browning Wall, 7 Tree Island, Rock Of Life, and an unnamed site where we did a really cool current dive and drifted for over a mile!
The octopus footage of the octo crawling all over the diver is from Mazyar Jalayer (www.anglerfishl.... He makes a ton of fantastic underwater camera gear including the Anglerfish Monitor that I use for my camera rig.

Dude, that Mola Mola off Seven Tree is awesome!!! I've dove the Miller's, Deserters's, and the passes over 13 trips with Sea Venturer and Gods Pocket. Never a Mola Mola, fricking awesome, thank you:)

Cool, yes, we saw many mola mola on that trip, on one dive we saw 8! And pretty much every dive site had them that year.

Great octopus encounter, wow! The Mola Mola is a once in a lifetime find. I found a small one washed up on a beach in Pt McNeill but wasn't lucky enough to see one in open water. Thanks for sharing, Cheers.

Yes, it was pretty cool! We didn't just see one Mola Mola, we saw 6 on one dive, and then continued seeing them throughout the week. Really cool fish to see in open water. Looking forward to coming back this year.
