    This is a good scope but the reticle on this particular model does not light up. They have other models that do light up. I thought that’s what I was getting when PA swapped out my 1x6 for this 4-14. I had issues with my 1x6 & PA was top notch in helping me. I asked to swap it but was unaware that the reticle didn’t light up on my model like it did for the 1x6. I hunt hogs, dogs, etc. early morning & late evening. This reticle washes out very easily in early morning & late evening. I’m just screwed but it does shoot great & I’ll always recommend PA - even though I traded an almost $300 scope for a $250 one 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Was struggling choosing reticles for a hunting rifle, Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5 Creedmoor. I believe this is the one with what I want without being too busy.

    I have this scope mounted up on a colt6920. Scope does not pick up the fixed front site at all. I picked this scope and sled mount up from Optics Planet at a $40 discount for a total of $280 with free shipping. I am just now in the beginning stages of testing this scope. My only gripe at this point is some glare I'm picking up. Easy fix. Ship these scopes with a sun shade. Include the shade in the box...please and thank you. Otherwise, I am pretty pleased with the scope. I've used 4 different types of ammo with decent groups. However, I'm still looking for better results...ordering some Hornady ammo now. I'm a big fan of Hornady ammo but I've never owned any of the stuff in 223.

      +TOM AMMO SLINGER Do you folks sell a throw lever? This is another accessory I'd like to have for this set up. It can be trying to get the variable turned from 4x to 14x and back...it's pretty snug.

    Hi Dimitri. The Whitetail in my area are seldom ever 18 inches back to belly. Much more like 15 to 16 inches. I few years back I even measured a few Does and they came closer to 12 and 13 inches, with a few Bucks measuring about 15 or so. How could I use this reticle on Deer that small? Also I love what you guys are doing at P.A. I'd love to see the Orion reticle in something like your 1x6, or even the 1x8 scopes.

    I hunt with a 6.5 Grendel , how off would the bullet drops be?

    I hunt in Utah so my elevation is basically 4500 feet and up. What kind of zero should I do?

    I just bought this optic and it’s mounted on my 6.5 grendel but I was wondering on zeroing it in since it doesn’t have the info for this caliber.

    Dimitri I just got this scope and I love it. My only question is: can the turrets be re-zeroed after sight in? There is no Allen key on top like I see in other Primary Arms 4-14x44 scopes. Under the turret caps there are two flush set screws I'm assuming, and each have two small holes. I could probably back them out if I could find retainer clip pliers but I'm not sure I want to mess with it. Am I on the right track?

    If ranging for 100 or within just use the chevron?

    what reticle do you recommend for an ar15 in .223/556 that is just used for target shooting?

    So when you measure for the yardage I assume you are at the lowest magnification. Sorry for what appears to be a dumb question. Never gone hunting but I am learning so I can do so in the future and since I love your guys sights and reticles figure I should always ask you the source!

    • @SentMKG
      @SentMKG 9 років тому

      ***** So at any magnification you simply line the deer's belly to back up to one of the lines? I am a bit confused as to how it would work at any magnification since by zooming in you are changing the perceived size of said deer?

    How's that I've orderd optics from the U.S. To Canada before. U sell any of ur optics to someone in Michigan. I live basically on the border. And be willing to drive over and buy one if I knew where to pick it up. And knew if they were stocked

    does the scope need to be on full power to range the deer? The reticle gets bigger and smaller as you use the power adj. so I am assuming that you must be on full power to range with it. Is this correct?

    • @redleg1013
      @redleg1013 5 років тому

      First focal plane, accurate range at any power.

    In your experience with this scope, what .308 ammunition best correlates with the bdc on the orion reticle? I am planning on mounting this scope to my Remington 700 sps with 26" barrel for target shooting and hunting. I currently have federal gold medal .308 175 gr sierra matchking ammo and am hoping it will pair well with this scope.

    how difficult would it be to dial this in for other calibers? say 243, for example

    • @PrimaryArmsOptics

      Scott Weinstein what is your fps grain n BC?

    • @scottweinstein4255
      @scottweinstein4255 7 років тому

      I understand your question. I'm asking because the description specifically states 3 rifles this is geared for, but based on your question it's really the ballistic characteristics of the round? I'm asking because I'm considering a 243 for my son, and for hunting purposes most likely use a round in the 80-100gr size- hornady or Nosler. This scope has some fancy 'features' that aren't really required but nice to have... unless moving it between rifles it's not spec'd for is a pita. make sense? My question would apply for any caliber not listed for the Orion.

    Wondering since the 3006is based on the 8mm if this could work on an 8mm set-up?

    • @DefZen343
      @DefZen343 7 років тому

      8mm seems to be normally running at 2500fps, 3006 and 308 runs around 2800fps. So the drop on the 8mm will be more and wont match the reticle, If im not mistaken the 8mm has more drag and is a 31 caliber projectile. so the drop on the ACSS will be off for sure.

    Where would 100 yards range? 200 yards on is good but no one is explaining the 100 yard range on a white tail not counting mil ranging.

    • @JLUnit416
      @JLUnit416 5 років тому +1

      If it's under 200; bigger than the horseshoe on the Orion, I'd just as soon place the chevron inside the vitals and impact should be within an inch of your point of aim with a conventional .308 factory load, all else being equal.

    • @PrimaryArmsOptics
      @PrimaryArmsOptics  11 місяців тому

      It is an FFP scope so the drops stay true regardless of the magnification.
