That's not a strat, a tele or a Les Paul. I appreciate the fact that you are playing that as a Jazz master !! I never get tired of hearing you play, brother. Play on!! Thank you!
And Jag with 24” neck it’s the best fender combiantion 4me!!
I was just thinking the same thing! Jazzmasters are so unique and deserve their own approach that I can't fully put into words. IT CAN do the blues licks a strat does, IT CAN do the twang a tele does, but this kind of tastefulness is so nice to hear. To simply put it, its extremely tasteful playing in my opinion.
@nicholaschavira1743 I love them, except the sustain is horrible.
Jazzmaster was Jimi guitar and he switched to a strat, and prob because of the sustain issue.
Granted a strat is not a sustain king either, but sustains quite a bit more than a jazz.
I love jazz masters. But they lack so much sustain I don't think I could buy one.
Even though I think they stay in tune better than a strat when using them.
Matthew Scott definitely has his own sound. I can hear him coming out of a Jazzmaster, Melody Maker, Strat, Les Paul, and it's awesome.
His tone is absolutely insane and it's evident that it's not just the gear - his playing style and dynamics are off the charts.
Matthew’s sense of melody, phrasing and chord changes are the top best on UA-cam!
AND pickup changing - don't forget! The dude knows how to use his pickups...
Yea it’s nice to see him able to riff out beautifully on these player grade vintage instruments he puts so much time, effort, and capital into. Leave the 50,000 dollar collector grade stuff to the doctors and lawyers who keep them safely secured in a bank safety deposit box where it’s sure to never be used again.
Matt I watch your videos during my classes in college as your sound through them old fenders bring me joy.
Keep playing them tones
From a fan of yours from Ireland:)
You really should pay attention during your classes 😃
@@AndreaAustoni oh I do man I watch his vids when I have done my work :)
I had a '65, long time ago, still miss it !
The Jazzmaster has a distinctly electric guitar tone, especially with both pickups switched on. Even though different brands & models of electric guitars had for a number of years been making it on to popular recordings heard over the radio, when The Venture's first broke out their proto-Surf instrumental arrangement of "Walk Don't Run", with Bob Bogle playing Fender's recently issued Jazzmaster, heads turned and reacted "Now THAT is an electric guitar!".
Jazzmaster sounds fabulous with clean tones. Of course your guitar skills makes it sound incredible too!
That jazzmaster is so cool, great tones
My favorite guitar for clean tones, on the middle setting.
Beautiful playing...it honors the guitar!
That is some dark ass rosewood my friend. Excellent guitar. Thanks for the video.
Rosewood is always dark.
@@DonIsadick-mf3gv good day. I have a 77 bronco that proves otherwise. Depending on where it comes from in the world the tint can be lighter.
Sweet! I literaly just ordered jazzmaster pickups yesterday and here you are giving me inspiration for them! Keep 'em coming!
Sounds absolutely fantastic! It has a unique quality to it.
Thanks for the clean tones, Matthew! Great as always.
Lovely sounds. This is a guitar to keep, I think. Nice one Matthew. 🎶🌟👍
Beautiful tones and playing Matthew. 👏
Sounds heavenly dude. Im new to jazzmaster ownership but they are so comfortable in the lap. The natural neck angle is much nicer than my other guitars whose necks sit close to my thigh. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
One of your best videos... beautiful.
Was stoked to see this. JM's are probably my favorite Fender guitars along with Strats.
Sounds so sweet, just love the tone of a Jazzmaster.
my favorite kind of guitar. more jazzmasters please!!
That is An AWESOME 63 Jazz Master, it’s AWESOME how the universe works. Matt you are very deserving of your blessings!
I love listening to you Play. Your finger style is fantastic. The Tone is Prefect. Makes me full of Joy and regrets. When I was a kid, you could buy one a Any Pawnshop for a $100. I passed on them Old Junky things. You Bring them Life. Thank you so Much!!!
Love the Jazzmaster...you give the old gal a beautiful voice Matthew !!
Always tasteful and beautiful playing. Sweet guitar to showcase your great skills on.
I truly enjoy seeing your content in my feed. Tone and vibes for fucking days.
One of my dream guitars right there :’)
You’ve got that amp set just right man. Love it. Very bright but sometimes you just need that to cut through.
If I didn't know any better I'd SWEAR Mr. Scott's takin' a Shinin' to that 'ol Jazzmaster...
You really sound fantastic on any guitar
Wow love the tone
Very very nice. 2thumbs up great tone.
Cool ! What a wide range of tones. Actually not really sounding like any other, interesting. Thanks a lot Matthew !
Sounds killer! 🔥🔥🔥
Bravo Matt. Quel talent 🎶 ✨ 🍀 magnifique et en son clair, pas d'artifice, simplicité, efficacité et de très jolies harmonies, bravo 👍 un salut de France bro
Sounds fab
Honestly, this is one of your better sounding and looking guitars on your channel
That sounds great. It's a good looking Jazzmaster.
that tone in the middle position is so damn nice
It's weird seeing all the Strat/Tele/LP part of the establishment *finally* realising the Jazzmaster was the next improvement from the Stratocaster. Better pickups, better vibrato, more balanced shape etc.. dismissed as oddities for so long.
Wonderful!
beautiful
Love that tone.
@samuelonoja8651 can you send me my prize via Morse code please? 🤣
So Awesome!!
I love the way those old fenders look. They just cannot recapture it even in the AVRI’s and American original’s.
So nice, keep it up
Nice ending! Killer ax
Cleanish. ;) sounds fantastic!
Dude I think the Jazzmaster got you this is your 8th video with that thing now it’s you and Elvis Costello # soapbar life!🧼🤯🔫
Middle: Jazz
Neck: master
Bridge: NEIL YOUNG JAMMING WITH THE ROLLING STONES.
Man, this was good
thank you
not really clean though but still amazing
I wanted a strat like yours, but I got a vintage JM instead bc I played it in the store and had to have it. I play it differently than my Strats, and I just thought that's what it had to be. To hear a Strat player like you play it like that (more strat like) and kind of bring some Hendrixy stuff to it inspires me to play mine in that direction more.
Hermosa guitarra hermosa ejecución
Getting some nice tone out of the Fender gear.❤
Killer. glad to hear the fuzz is taking a break.. Clean tones FTW!
Beautiful!!
hell of a tune
Buen sonido una hermosa guitarra
Impressive.
Sounds like a old western after a shoot out and we mourn the dead hero lots of feeling nice man!
Man that guitar really nails the tinggy fender tone,
Perfection
the first 4 notes and i was like “holy shit” that guitar sounds nice!
Keep this guitar!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Sounds great Matthew.
Hey, with these shorts, could you mention in the description which amplifier you are playing through.
I'm sure lots of players have never actually played through a real '59 Bassman or a '60s Deluxe, they may not know what it takes to produce that beautiful music you make look so easy to play.
I've made this comment before and I'll make it again. I would pay for an instrumental album of Matthew doing his thing
Great to see Kirk Corbin looking fatter and rocking the Jazzmaster again
Oh my word. That "Pickup selector switch" needs fixing/replacing ASAP.
Apart from that, sounds great as usual. Thank's Matt.
Sqeeky clean 🧼 I really dig
That's a good sounding guitar.
Fender Jazzmaster for the win!
I'm looking for a jazzmaster right now, not anything vintage because I'm broke but something mij. You make that thing sound fucking killer
Dude please keep this one around.
Sounds delicious. I have a 67/68 sometimes hard to keep tuned/intonated due to the floating bridge system. Also you can't play leads as well on it as a Tele or Strat due to the neck fretboard radius. That being said It does radiate sounds that no other guitar can.
Beautiful, thank you. Question: OG pick guard or Spitfire? Either way, that instrument sounds and looks perfect.
That guitar really sounds good, exceptionally good. I’ve had a few Vintage JazzMasters. One I bought from Army salvage when I was in the Air Force in the early 70’s. It was a 1961, beat to crap and the pickups weren’t working. I got it for $75. We didn’t have Pickup rewinders like we do now. Plus it wasn’t cool to have a beat up guitar back then. . I refinished it in black and found a set of DiMarzios for it. One guitar I really should have kept. In those days we’d only have one to two guitars. No one usually had more than that so I sold it. Had another 64 Candy Apple Red and also a newer reissue but neither sounded or played like my 61. Yours really has the tone. I may have to see about finding the another one.
I got lucky with a custom shop black paisley, sound amazing even for blues!
Would love to hear Matthew and Chris Buck on a collaboration!!
That guitar is a keeper you've been playing it a lot lately I can tell plus you had it these last few videos. Don't trade it off you will regret it
Tornado season Matt, let's be careful out there......
That is The coolest guitar you have had on so far. Everytime i see these, it unfortunatly reminds me of The nightmare i have, of me never being able to afford one😢
There are some killer deals on many nice Squier classic vibe Jazzmasters online and locally for under $400…..many are 300-350, and many more have been very nicely improved/set up and or modded. Patience and persistence on your hunt is key.
Keep your chin up on your quest and good luck to you !
@@shawnmann9491 true! Ive modded and refinished both my 90s mij Jaguar, and my jazzmaster, But its still not The same. Sunburst is a colour That only looks good when its 50 years Old :) and at That point its The coolest look. In happy with my guitars. But i always torturere myself by looking at vintage jazzmaster and jags i cant afford :)
Nice
Best guitare
😍😍😛😛🤩🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥
Sounds great!! I'm guessing you're going through a fender black face amp.& The "Soap bars" P-90's R Sweet Sounding.I dig the longer term bars, bent ever so slightly.
I have a old photo taken in the basement,, of Ted Nugent playing a Fender Jazzmaster. U don't see this often with Ted...
With a jazz your SOUND IS like a
Telecaster+ stratocaster +les Paul.
Jazz for me all the Time.
Met une cale pour incliner le manche et vire moi ce buzz stop.
Tu en auras plus besoin et ton son serra encore meilleur 😉
Hi,for playing pink floyd and jimi hendrix srv, is better the fender vibrochamp 5w or the marshall studio vintage sv20c combo please
A beautiful looking guitar. Sound wise not my cup of the, but it has an unique and broad sound pallet.
A cool old Fender. Sounds like the pickup selector switch needs a clean or replacement.
Gives it Character though
Wooo got maggot brain vibes right there
I feel like neil young would love this guitar
What's not to love....
I think it sounds better than your Strats! Wow!!!! 😍
Scott you got to put the original saddles on to get the real experience
Thoes Jaz masters were Real big in surfing songs . I belive that was a Jaz master on the Song last
Kiss By J frank Wilson also . The thing I've Said about the Jaz master . It's a Differnt kind of Beast .from
Telly . STRAT . It's a Beast of its own . And a person needs to
Learn to play the Jaz master .
Darn nert.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck……. Soundin amazing!!🤓👌
Are pots original 1Meg? if yes, how did you set the tone knob?
✌
Now this is my kind of "clean"
If I buy a new guitar of this model, will the sound be different?
