This is real Country... I could listen to it over & over & I have done that, more that once or twice. Today's Country #1 won't be played next week & may never be played again. The Streets of Baltimore was sang in 1966, that was 57 years ago & it'll be played for the next 100 years.
My uncle Harry loved Bobby bare he sang all his songs when out in his lorry one morning in 1987 the IRA shot my brilliant uncle Harry dead for no reason at all, aged 38 this was his favourite song,
Dan Holenstein-Bobby's one of the few true country music singers still around-all the rest are either retired or dead, and today's so-called country music isn't worth a plugged nickel; it's just pop.
Always loved that quirky song, The transistor had arrived and many companies produced small radios, Radio Shack sold the tiny blue transistor under the Realistic brand, Just recently found one, I now own one. ALLAMERICANAL
Im not sure when this song was written but believe you me, the streets of Baltimore aint like that anymore. Im in a suburb and I can attest to that fact. If you dont have a security guard you may not survive "walkin the streets of Baltimore anymore" LOL (but it really isnt funny).
