Really enjoying your cloth nappy content! Thank you for doing such informative, honest and easy to understand videos - I’m eager to dive headfirst into cloth nappies once our little one arrives and have learnt so much from your videos! 👶🏻 x

Thank you for not saying that you could wash nappies in basically plain water. You are the first UA-camr I watched that said nappies are for heavy soiled dose of detergent.

So so glad I found your channel! Trying to do all the research I can before baby arrives! I failed at sticking to cloth nappies with my first so here’s to trying again ☺️

Thank you so much for this video! I've been given some reusable nappies and I've been trying to use them but it's been quite overwhelming. These videos are really helpful and encouraging 😊

I find your cloth diapers videos very helpful - you cover a lot and explain well. Can I ask what detergent you use. I am currently using prefolds on a 6 week old, and they are coming quite harsh. I line dry. I don’t use a lot of detergent. Assuming that our water is hard! I have seen your stash of diapers how clean and soft they look! I just want to master this setback! Thank you so much!!

That’s great! You probably need to up the amount of detergent you’re using. Make sure you’re using the full amount as specified on the packet (it’s worth actually measuring it!) Nappies will often get a little stiff if you line dry them. If you want them to be soft then pop them in a tumble dryer for a little while or rub them against each other vigorously 😊

Thank you :)! Will try that!
Would love a whole future video dedicated to how you wash your nappies.

@aboderie Have you considered starting a nappy library yourself?

    • @aboderie

I’ve always lived in areas where there’s already a library run by someone else so never needed to! Plus the admin is a lot of work and I don’t think I’d have time for it on top of running Aboderie 😊

Great information about leaks here and on your blog! My baby girl is consistently getting a wet patch on her upper right thigh, both on the PUL cover and her clothes. Assuming this is a fit issue based on the lack of saturation, but do you think it's more likely elastic is too loose around the leg or could too high a rise be a problem?

It's difficult to say without seeing your fit, but there shouldn't be any gaps on the leg elastic. Try closing the rise down a step to make the nappy smaller and see if that improves things. Also make sure you're pushing the excess fabric between the rise snaps upwards. Hopefully you've also seen the video I have on fitting nappies, which might be helpful.
