    I'm a momma to 8 . my oldest was cloth diapered he is 19 and my youngest used some of the same cloth diapers 17 years later. Cotton does last a long time! I enjoy your vlogs they are very peaceful and therapeutic.

    We love pad folding at night and laying in a wrap, mainly thirties hemp prefolds and cotton booster of about 6 layers. Also love seedling pockets with bubble bubs night absorbency. We have some fitteds but they aren’t my favorite, just end up too bulky once boosted to last through the night... but the petite lulu maxi looks so good 😍😍

    I prefer the Green Mountain Diapers Cloth-Eez Workhorse cotton fitted diapers with a hemp booster (Geffenbaby, Thirsties and etc) and a Nicki's diaper cover. Fitted diapers are great, though it took longer to dry compare to flats. If i ran out of fitted diapers, then i'll use bamboo flats with hemp booster. I'll put the hemp beneath the bamboo because it absorb a lot of liquid but slower than the bamboo flat.

      That sounds like a great combo! I've heard really good things about workhorses, but they're really expensive to ship to the UK 😭

    I’d love to hear more info about which materials are more/less sustainable and why. I don’t really know much about the processing involved in materials. I’ve heard, from a sustainability perspective, hemp are best, then cotton, then bamboo, then microfibre. No idea why (other than microfibre being a man-made fibre). Would love any info on this you may have to share :)

      Great idea! I have an Instagram post that covers this a bit but can definitely go into more detail! instagram.com/p/CKt--mplQ-d/
      In a nutshell you're right that it roughly goes hemp, cotton, bamboo, microfibre, but it depends a bit on how the cotton is grown (organic vs non-organic) and how the bamboo is processed (mechanical processing is pretty 'clean' whereas chemical processing can be highly polluting). I'll make a note to cover this in a future vid or blog post ☺

    Does the wrap over a fitted nappy not need to be waterproof? Just doing research as planning on using cloth for this baby and its all cery overwhelming. I also cro het so thought maybe u could crochet some wraps to save money but wasnt sure if they would work? Xx

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  2 роки тому +1

      Yes they do need to be waterproof! Amazingly wool is waterproof when you lanolise it, so as long as you use 100% wool when you make them you can then lanolise them and they’ll work great ❤️

    My entire cloth diaper collection is one size pocket style. Can I put a fitted diaper inside this style to adapt it for nighttime use or do I need to get special covers?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  2 роки тому

      It depends on which pocket and which fitted nappy, but generally pocket nappy covers aren't roomy enough to go over the bulk of a fitted nappy. It's worth a try though!

    Regarding motherease sandys, do you have a view on whether the original or the stay dry version are better?
    Also, with the motherease air flow, I hear great things, but how do they not leak if they’re loose around the legs?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't tried the stay dry sandys yet but love the originals and tend to prefer things without polyester so expect I'll still prefer the originals. Air flows are like magic! The fitted nappy underneath keeps everything contained and the air flow helps the liquid to evaporate, so I think that's how it works. But honestly I'm not totally sure, it is quite amazing!
