    I'm looking at getting a rv but it has damage in the front at the seems and it was just taped up. If I remove it and replace the outside how do I make the seems go together and seal?

    Aren't you supposed to start at the bottom so each piece can over lap?

      RV Siding goes on the opposite of house siding, installation is from the top to bottom. And yes they over lap, actually it like an Under lap.

    How difficult is it to remove siding in order to get to damage behind the siding? For example in order to repair the wood structure due to water damage? The intent would to as much as possible reinstall the original siding.

      Generally, we repair/Replace rotten wood from the INSIDE of the camper. The techs even take of Cabinets and Cupboards along with interior paneling to replace them.
      But if you must take off the siding, it isn't that difficult, just pulling staples. But make sure you keep them in order to replace them. The hard part is you may have to take off the WHOLE side of the camper to just get to the parts you need to fix. Use Butyl to seal all windows and seams, and caulk around all the outside fixtures in addition.

    My Viking 17BH wheel well trim was torn out when a tire blew out on the highway. How can I replace that trim piece?

    • @Glrv3Stores
      @Glrv3Stores  3 роки тому

      You have to get the same trim, remove the old one, and apply new one with Butyl tape underneath and then caulk around it when it is installed.

    I have an older fifth wheel with corrogated aluminum siding that my Grandpa had bought new in 1997, Its still in nice shape, but the corners are coming apart and I developed a leak in the front cap. Its a Wanderer 27rks by Thor and want to get it back to great shape and maybe replace all the siding, do you have a cost?

    • @Glrv3Stores

      Very difficult to asses without seeing it Michael. Leaks can develop feet, even yards, away from where they actually show up. if you email us at goodliferv@glrv.com we can start communicating about it with a Service Advisor.

    Hello I am currently looking at rvs to fix up .. some I've seen have the side paneling messed up.. so have a few questions .. the metal where can I find it .? And how are the edging done.. and umm doors and windows .. if they are broken where can I find them .. can I make them ?

    • @Glrv3Stores
      @Glrv3Stores  3 роки тому +1

      Metal is ordered from an RV Dealer which gets it from the RV Manufacturers. As far as edging is concerned everything is sealed with Butyl Tape then the exterior trim is put on, then sealed with RV Caulking. We can order windows in generally any shape and size for you.

    • @Glrv3Stores
      @Glrv3Stores  4 роки тому

      There are SO many variables. Like availability of the siding, size of camper, how many sides, how many attachments to the camper. So a rough range could be anywhere from $8k-$20k.

    Very cool video. Just in case I would have siding problems do you know where I could purchase RV aluminum siding?
    Also, have you ever run AC or DC wiring through the walls of an RV? I'd like to run about 8 DC outlets and 5 AC outlets throughout my travel trailer and tie them into the power distribution panel. Some people suggest I could run them under the RV and up the walls but to me, total novice, I would think the walls of the travel trailer would be bolted to the travel trailer metal frame.

    • @Glrv3Stores
      @Glrv3Stores  6 років тому +2

      An RV Dealer would probably have to get you the siding, and as you can imagine it comes in very long boxes. Dealers have access to the Manufacturers who use the siding every day, so that is your best option.
      Concerning the wiring, I would think it would be to your benefit to run the wires inside the walls if you are going to have the siding off anyway, Make sure the wires aren't pinched or get nails/staples into them when putting the siding back on. Happy Camping.

    • @knutblaise9437

      Fortunately I have no siding damage but it makes me feel a lot better that I can probably get replacement siding ordered through dealers. Thanks!
      Assuming the siding is not off the RV do you have suggestions on wiring AC/DC circuits through the RV?
      My most recent thought was to run a box around the wall/roof line (inside) and drop wiring for the outlets down between the wall studs for the outlets. I'm also wiring in three external security cameras which I'll be placing on the outside/top/front/[left & right] and outside/top/center to be used for backing up the trailer. They use coaxial connectors close to the camera so it would be good to get them inside vs running them along to the roof top.

    • @Glrv3Stores
      @Glrv3Stores  6 років тому +1

      I would try to keep the wire inside if you could. Regarding your cameras though, there are many brands out there that are wireless and you would only need to tap into the 12V power of a nearby marker light to power them.
