  • I've been putting this off for a while and waiting for the right weather. No turning back now after spending money on new outer siding for the camper. Removing the outer siding of the camper opened a rotten wood can of worms that we had to remove and replace before the rain.
    The new siding was purchased from Hemet Valley RV and they made it to my measurements. Visit their site for your siding replacement project. www.hemetvalleyrv.net/

    I’ve started gutting a 1973 Corsair and like it’s been mentioned, repairing one project starts another. I’m at the point where I plan to just gut it and to start from scratch. The roof is a hot mess. There is a few leaks here and there but thankfully not a ton! Thanks for the insight and hope it turned out great!!

      Good luck with your repairs on the Corsair. Hopefully the number of projects don't creep up on you. Thank you for watching.

    I’m currently filming a 1977 coachman rebuild that I bought a week ago and I’m running into all the same problems. I feel crazy sinking all my time and money into it but it’s nice knowing there’s someone else out there doing the same thing! Good videos I subbed👌

      I know right! I toy with just burning the thing down and filming it for youtube! I do though like bringing back old things to life. As I get closer to the finish line it'll feel more gratifying...I hope.

    I've got a motorhome to renovate. Looks like you could use a Xtra hand and a few more tools.
    Thank you for your time and energy...

    For future reference the manufacturer uses a router to cut the siding to fit. Cool to watch them

    That looks like a Hemet Valley box. We are rebuilding a 1976 and had to do a frame up rebuild.

    Wait!!! you have 2x4 wood framing for your walls?! I am doing a complete reno on my 1988 Catalina and everything is 1x2/2x2 framing, man I'm jealous :D.

    Is it possible to just cut warped areas out and use patch peices?

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  17 днів тому

      you can but you may run into other challenges. The overlap would need to be sealed real good. I could see a scenario when traveling in heavy rain could push water into the seam and the interior of the wall.

    Do you have any connections for having new windows built or where they can be bought?

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  Рік тому

      I do not. Sorry about that. I was able to reuse mine so I didnt go down that search. It may cheaper to buy a rundown camper for cheap and just use the windows on it

    You always start at the bottom and work your way up when it comes to removing the siding also that particular trailer never had a black water tank the tank you are referring to is a freshwater tank but seeing that this video is a year old I’m sure you have figured that out by now.
