When the switch is installed you have to bring the window half way. Then, bring the window holding the button and when the window hit the top continue holding the button for 3 sec to program the switch.
Wondering why Einstein here disconnected his battery cable? Just have the ignition off while you swapped out the switch will do. Also, check its function BEFORE putting it back in? I did the same switch change 2 months ago easy-peasy no problems. I suspect the new switch is no good.
Standard procedure when working on anything electrical on an automobile or motorcycle. Any shop manual I've ever read says first order of business is to disconnect the battery whether you're replacing a sensor or a switch or anything else with power connected to it. Though I have forgotten a few times and the magic smoke didn't come out.
Did the problem actually end up being because of the power window switch? Funnily enough, I have a problem with the exact same window on my Accord 2010 and I can't figure out what the problem is 😂
So did I....had to replace the window switch in my 2012 Accord EX. I used a flathead screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry up the switch, then everything else just as here. But do not disconnect your battery cable, just make the switch with your ignition OFF. Easy...took me 14 minutes total and all works well. By the way, I got the switch part on Amazon for $40 but Honda (at the garage) wants $320 for it!! Do NOT buy it there! This repair is simple. Flat head screwdriver and small Phillips is all you need. And bring out a small bowl or something so you don't lose the tiny screws!
