I tried doing it today, I spent 9 hours just trying to remove door panel but failed. Then i watched this video, now i am 9 beers down and door armrest fixed.
To anyone trying to replace the door panel arm rest pads on your Gen 8 Honda Accord, you do not need to completely remove the door panels. Replacing the arm rests can be easily accomplished with removal of 3 screws and popping loose a few panel retainers. Leave the panel in place and use a stubby Philips screwdriver. Easy peasy. No need for all the extra steps.
Literally every video on this topic shows this way of doing it. I would love for there to be an easier way, but this isn’t a helpful comment unless you explain how. However, I know the point of commenting isn’t to be helpful; it’s to feel superior. Right? I feel a little smug now, just by pointing out *your* smugness.
@@solidarityburp2700there is no other way, he’s some idiot trying to sound “ahead of the curve” with no further explanation. Yes, you can technically remove the armrest without disconnecting the panel completely and leaving the door control/light cables connected but it’s going to be an absolute pain because there’s 5 small screws holding the arm rest down
Great video. Very funny. I would give you some tips as I am a DIY car guy but I don't want to detract from the masterpiece you created. And you showed me what I needed to know. Thanks for your work!
Mine did the same thing with the leather and I don’t even use it that much. Started as a bubble then started to peel. At least they’re cheap and easy to change! Except I got the entire arm rest already put together... $10 including shipping.
Thanks for posting. I just wanted to learn how to get the panel of my rear door since I'm trying to push out a dent. Good stuff, I'm sure you sold the car by now. And btw, I always drink a beer while I work on my car. lol
Sold the car a few weeks later, didn't even get lowballed on my craigslist price, so I just laugh at those who say it looks like shit - looks a billion times better than it did, enough to get me my asking price, which is all I cared about
2:30 minutes into the video and I decided that Im just going to return them. From now on when I look at the old, worn ones that I have Ill just take comfort in knowing that I didnt put myself through that.
Hey great video but it honestly looks like shit. Lol. I recently did my roof and it looks like shit aswell. They should teach upholstery in automotive classes and colleges!
I simply can't understand how so many people overlook step 1! Oddly, that is the same step for "how to take a shower in the morning" and "how to lift weights properly". Skipping step 1 will not get you the results you desire.
+Bryan Mack Makes perfect sense! I can't believe you aren't charging for the info?? I will implement this knowledge starting immediately. *pops a top on a Guiness's Drought*
I posted a note in the video that I accidentally deleted that video before I melted the videos together. I wish I hadn't as I had hoped to make a complete video. If I recall, it wasn't complicated, you just lift the door panel up once the clips are popped (I did show popping the clips, you just use your hand and pop them out), and it comes right off.
Doesn't look good at all to be honest. Order 2 of them that are ready to be installed. Leather fits perfectly on the arm rest cushion. They don't cost 10 bucks but they cost 15!
Repair job I have ever seen you are not a person that's in to DETAIL. You should go to the wrecking yard and pull one off another car like your. Oh thatd just me.
I wish I could pay attention to detail as much as someone who writies such eloquent sentences such as "Repair job I have ever seen you are not a person that's in to DETAIL." or "Oh thatd just me.". I could learn from your attention to detail.

That what happens when you don't have enough beer...you will not succeed.
Okay, so I've been stuck on step 1 for a couple days now...
How much beer do I need to do this project?
Laughed a lot thanks :D
all of it. all of the beer.
that was a really helpful video, especially for someone like me who was never taught anything about cars. thank you
LoL. That pre-work ritual didn't age well.
bro had a bud light
I laughed when he pulled the BL.
he had it BEFORE it was gay to drink it. cmon man

You should redo this video and take out the Bud Light and replace with Coors or Miller.
Oh no the bud light didnt age well 😂
Directions are great... end job doesn't look so great 😆. Loved the beer opening! 🥴
The celebratory belches are quite gratifying

How can you consider Bud Light as beer????
Thanks drunk or semi drunk dude. We needed to get the door off this helped.
most people can't get the door off as they forget about step 1: grab a beer. Seems obvious to me, but what do I know?
Thanks for the tips. Your half-ass result made me feel better lol

How did you pull the panel off?? I watched but u didn’t exactly say...I’ve got all the screws off!!!
a little heavy on the glue there chief
thanks for the info . im hitting it up today
About the beer.... its great man thnks
You got the thumbs up as soon as you got the beer out of your tool box.
very good video , thanks so much ! taking the cables together with the handle without disconnect then was the best part !
When trying to replace things, I often end up scratching the outer shell. 😥
Dude the beer was badddd….next time Miller Hilife 👍

I don't drink but I agree with a budlight.
thank you for your video it was very helpful to me.
Hey thanks man, couldn't figure out where to even start taking the panel off,the beer did the trick! whodathunkit??

Thanks Bryan .Great job!!!
I'd love to see "youtuber gearheads react" to this guy
Does it always have be bud light to get the job done properly?
Right on, very helpful, thanks man.
Well I dont know where to start First thank you I just need to remove the door panel. Now for your repair job it was one of the Worst
Man after seeing this video suddenly the exposed cushion doesn't hurt my elbow anymore 😂😂
Good video, but I'll have to pass
I was about to start this project but I realized I’m out off beer.
you did not show removing the panel from the clips. that is the most important to show
I posted a note in the video that I accidentally deleted that video before I melted the videos together. I wish I hadn't as I had hoped to make a complete video. The wood grain trim piece, how does that come off?
A like for the bud light 🤣 great video
What did you look up to find the replacement on ebay I need to do this to my wifes car
Is the driver arm rest same and left rear arm rest ?
I can't pop the door back on seems like somthing isn't lining up.
What did you call that parts? I'm planning to buy also.. thanks
I like the first step👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣
The armrest can be removed without removing the whole panel, i've done it on my accord, this is way to much work for such a small change.
You should post a video! ❤
I would like to see a video as well. This would be very helpful.
i have the same car in grey.
Hahahja the beer, great!!!
For 10$ more you could buy a replacement armwrest instead of just the leather/pad and skip the 3M business.
This helped a lot ngl
Thanks for the video tutorial
Hey thanks for the inspiration! Wait.. I was talking to the beer lol 😂
Thanks for posting!
good job
08 accord guaranteed the center armrest is just as bad and needs reupholstering also.
Doesn't look good at all to be honest. Order 2 of them that are ready to be installed. Leather fits perfectly on the arm rest cushion. They don't cost 10 bucks but they cost 15!
Are you the "You Suck at Cooking" guy?????
Adderall and bud light?
Thanks man very helpful
Nice vid but I cringed when seeing the new cover laid on the dirty concrete floor.
Blame the beer.
Bro you blah blah the whole video I did this in 30 seconds
Applying spray adhesive onto your parts without laying down some newspaper or cardboard to protect the concrete......ROTFLMGDFAO
Try Corona next time . LOL . Attention to details !!!!
Repair job I have ever seen you are not a person that's in to DETAIL. You should go to the wrecking yard and pull one off another car like your. Oh thatd just me.
