  • Despite the amount and the variety of sectors targeted by sanctions and restrictions in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, there is one industry which has been barely touched: the nuclear energy sector. This industry is run by the state-owned company Rosatom in a de facto monopoly.
Since 2007, Rosatom has become a global player by building partnerships and signing memorandums of understanding around the world, not only with the so-called Global South but also with Europe.
In this video, Eleonora Tafuro Ambrosetti, ISPI Senior Research Fellow, interviews Darya Dolzikova, a researcher at the Royal United Service Institute in London and a leading expert on nuclear proliferation and policy, to outline the present and future of Russian nuclear power and understand how Europe will move forward.
