1:08:40 this is one of the main reason i always keep at least a couple of harpies on standby at my base, as much as my fuel cells allows for. they move fast, packs quite a punch, and literally executes units with low hp. besides they can also be called to help picking off enemy troops when sieging their base also, do avoid setting water/fuel cell villages under oppression. it might be nice but sometimes if may screw you over. i generally only oppress spice/minerals villages bcs even if they do rebel, at most only my solari will take a hit, not my military
Solid game. The base attacks were good up until the first attack of the east base. After that, the armies kept being sent in piece meal. Either in thirds or 45cp and then send in reinforcements, but for the executioners stacks they really need everyone sent in as a group.
I miss the gunner’s minigun. That thing wasn’t good in most situations, but in base busting and chunking down frigates or top tier units it was king along with armor destruction.
Maybe someone can educate me but I dont really understand the point of the hibernation breastplates if the plan is to get bloodthirsty stacks anyway. Wouldnt the bonus armor only apply when they ran out of stacks and only have 50 health left?
The idea is that a really savy opponent will try to focus fire down Executioners first before they can build up stacks. The huge +armor bonus makes that a much more difficult proposition.
I had it in the back pocket, but I was very hesitant to launch since it would have ruined my choam chances. It certainly does make bases melt even faster though--I do recommend them for good fun!
If you build 3 blue districts in your main base the benefit is +100 votes. Corrino additionally has a special blue district that doubles all other district bonuses in the base. It is very powerful politically, but also a big notification to the rest of the lobby that they should bully you.
6:10 You can start the pillage before "in still fear" has finished researching as long as the pillage finishes after the research. Gives u like half a day of a headstart.
Evil Baron! They should probably halve the healing of those bloodthirsty stacks... an extra 1k HP at 20 stacks is a bit much, on top of their regular health pool
Cant lie, it feels pretty broken to play as and against. Something weird about it too like if 10 guys all shoot at the same time it only removes 1 stack--broken AND buggy!
Rabban seems like the necessary choice +1 free militia in every village is a fat 5% eco buff. His ability is kind of bad, but he’s very hard to kill and with a full stack of executioners with the armor cooling thing you have an unkillable army that hits like a truck to defend your territory, I’ve ground down fights id otherwise lose because the other guy runs out of supplies. It’s extremely disgusting.
Rabban is probably better, but it does stink to lose control of all of your units. You get about the same DPS boost or more from Nefud's attackspeed per operation in region--and Nefud himself hits a lot harder due to basically being another Executioner himself. Both viable I think.
Hey could you link that tournament game you mentioned and if the harky boi has a POV of that match could you link that. Future Barons need the research.
Sure! The tourney was run and cast by Turin here: ua-cam.com/users/live2KX66g6nbxU?si=_KsQb7PfuJljKnUS Unfortunately our Hark champ runs his internet through a potato and a line of string so he wasn't able to stream. My pov is here: ua-cam.com/users/live2KX66g6nbxU?si=_KsQb7PfuJljKnUS
I gotta say, they seem to be doing just fine with the base melting currently. I've found it nigh impossible for the likes of Fremen/Atreides/Vernius/Ecaz
At 40 manpower per worker, it is a big investment early on and probably only adds ~3ish spice per day. I usually like to use that manpower elsewhere early on and come back later to fill out the harvesters--especially after a harvester works comes online to make them only 20 manpower. Also investing in them early makes it a lot more painful for them to get worm eaten--so you either task one of your early ornithopters on it to protect that investment and lose out on the early scouting or you take the gamble that a worm isn't going to just gobble up that manpower.
The cerb/executioner interaction honestly seems kind of broken. Definitely get that it's fun as the harkonnen player to do and the tourny game where hark wrecked everyone was hilarious, but the fact that there's essentially no counterplay and doesn't require any skill other then right clicking the base or the enemy army once, is not a particularly healthy game mechanic. Hopefully they tone it down in the next patch.
There is an official Dune: Spice Wars discord here: discord.gg/ePnvBmUh I and the folks I play with hang out more around the Turin server at discord.gg/Turin
I usually delay putting crew in to save the manpower for other purposes early game. I also don't want to lose that manpower investment, so if i put crew in then i want to put a thopter on it for safe mode. Those thopters are very busy exploring the map early on. +1 crew is typically 15% of 20ish spice income, so +3. At average 1>2 trade rate that is about +6 solari a day. It is 5 solari a day to maintain a thopter. Then the upfront investment of 300 solari for the thopter, and 40 manpower for the crew. The investment just isn't very good when resources are still scarce early game. Once I'm floating more manpower in the bank, or have a harvester works, or have thopters mostly done with critical scouting it becomes a better value proposition. Although... for Harks oppressing their spice fields, it is likely a good idea to prioritize a tad earlier.
What an amazing match. Was really giving it my all and microing like a madman to try and save those bases. Well done.
Great game man! You deserved to win!
@apoleonschneider yeah I think the one blunder was not stopping the "sell villages and get 10k" I saw it and went, oh well I don't need that. 😁
you played so well! baron was very lucky to get land sales just then AND you not realizing he might win off it. GG!

That was so clutch with the land sales!! Insane game, stealing this build for the Harkonnen army.
bro you gotta stop posting so much, you’re ruining my life because i’m having to watch them all, not seen my family in months
Samee xd
Lol
Thank you for the frequent uploads. Your content is very good, and it scratches my spice wars itch.
1:08 “May have to murder someone in a scientific matter” Very Harkonnen
Another super entertaining and informative video, you're on fire!
Solid game. The base attacks were good up until the first attack of the east base. After that, the armies kept being sent in piece meal. Either in thirds or 45cp and then send in reinforcements, but for the executioners stacks they really need everyone sent in as a group.
Turin was right your videos are really good, loved how you played Harks this game. to bad no nuke ^^
bro your thumbnails are always perfect
I'm especially proud of this one.
@@daevohkyour fav Kubrick movie?
@@savenok4869 Its Dr. Strangelove for me. Gotta figure out how to work one of those in.
holy shit! last half of the video made my inner baron smile sneeringly
Bro, just found the video and just gonna give that upvote and comment already for the thumbnail game. FIRE!
I finished watching! OMFG!!! Hark new meta. Corrino still god tier.
I laughed a lot making it, which lets me know I'm on a good path.
Holy shit the ending. wow
havent watched the match yet. BUt just had to say that i love the thumbnail

Yeah i think it was a fan favorite, It sorta lives on in spirit in the passive ability. Not quite as fun and flavorful though.
so were not gonna be too sweaty here.. we might kill someone.
I brought the game because of this video!
Welcome to the desert brother!
It’s so good, it was very close

Failing all else, you could nuke the first base, gambling on the hege building being in there, then continue the siege on the last base. Fun game!
I had it in the back pocket, but I was very hesitant to launch since it would have ruined my choam chances. It certainly does make bases melt even faster though--I do recommend them for good fun!
How did corrino get the 300 free votes there and the sardaukar that were fully experienced as soon as he trained them?

Quick thinking about DRUGS !
I don't know how i am supposed to understand that :p
Harkonnen my favorite faction in this game, pure evil fucks
They did a good job just designing the faction to make you evil for playing it.

Lost are the days that the harks can strip a main base armor and delete a faction for fun.

IM GONNA CHOAM
how come you don't put workers
in your harvesters early?
At 40 manpower per worker, it is a big investment early on and probably only adds ~3ish spice per day. Yeahhhh, its pretty broken. I'd be happy to see Executions buffed up a bit and then much of those troublesome interactions just removed
Lol I see what you did there

Hi buddy, explain to the noob why you don't put the crew in Harvesters because you're not in safe mode?
