Why skip the parts that people want to see...removal of timing and balance shaft belts and camshafts and putting them back. All you show is proof that you know how to. Thanks alot!!!
all the marks for the timing are on the engine. for the cam, the balancer, and oil shaft. the marks are all there, its dead simple. just have to get the belt on without moving the pulleys
Hey thanks for sharing. I'm about to bring a V6 eclipse back to life after storage for 3 years. Besides changing out the gas (via the fuel rail collection method you mentioned), coolant, oil, battery, is there anything else you advice I do before turning the engine over? Should I pop the spark plugs off (can only get access to 3 cylinders easily for the V6) and spray some fogging oil? I'm sure whatever oil that was in the engine has long drained to the pan over time so there's going to metal to metal contact while I'm cranking. Anything I can do to minimize this wear during the startup? Much thanks!
I would recommend spinning the engine over by hand to make sure nothing is stuck. Then if you can access the spark plugs take them out and spray very little oil in the cylinders. I believe that you have to take the intake manifold or upper intake plenum off in order to access the 3 rear plugs.
Hey Arthur, after repairing the head on the Eclipse, did the engine perform well, on power, fuel consumption, and we're you able to smog the vehicle. Did you replace the piston rings ?
So what he's saying at about 4:20 is that he disconnected the hoses on the intake and pulled the head off with the intake attached right? because there are 4 bolts on the underside of the intake bracket and the 3 bolts on the water outlet that are a bit harder to spot to get off.
how did you get intake manifold off.....i have one bolt under intake manifold and can not get it...should i pop up the head then remove bolt underneath...????p.i.t.a.
Hey man had a question I'm thinking about changing out my heads and my injectors and on my 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS what do you think be the best for that car just one more high performance out of it
I honestly wish I could help you out with this issue, but I don’t know much about performance parts or what to recommend for you to use. I have heard of people using the Kia/Hyundai heads to make it a twin cam engine, but I don’t know how that works. There are a few videos on here of people swapping the head out, I would recommend looking into one of their videos. I’m sorry, I wish I could be of more help.
Most things are preventable on cars through maintenance learning about what you drive it would save a hell of a lot of work out there I have to do, society’s generally brainless
Hey guys, I have a eclipse that over heated. I towed it home, want to mess with it and try to bring it back to life. Is this the same process I should head/aim for?
Hey I have coolant leak coming from under the engine and I just replaced the water pump and re pored coolant and still leaking coolant from under the engine can anyone help and let me know what I need to replace? 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.0 v6 🙏
Hard to imagine a more useless video. I concur with everyone else who is said show how it's done. All the information about how you came to acquire the car is irrelevant. We want to know how to do the work, and you skipping past it all and telling us it was too hard to video defeats the point.
Worthless video. You skipped recording the most important parts. You could've saved us all the time of watching this if you would've said so in the beginning.

Yes, I think he diagnosed it incorrectly. Wheres are update. Now!!

You skipped the most important..
Damm fuked the most important part
When you take off a head like that and remove the cam sprockets how do you set it back to time??

What costs range were you at to get the head redone?

You need a tripod bro, this was basically useless. I wanted to see how the camshafts where removed and what you had to do with the timing belt.
What is the torque sequence for the head bolts? I cant seem to find a straight foward answer to this..
Same here! I need them, can't find em. Let me know if you figured it out
Im actually working on a 98 eclipse spyder, by any chance do both these engines have the same components? I know they're both 4g64s
Pretty sure there practaclly the same.
Looking for the torque specs for head bolts where did you find the info
how did you get intake manifold off.....i have one bolt under intake manifold and can not get it...should i pop up the head then remove bolt underneath...????p.i.t.a.
So it overheating and any sign of oil mix or antifreeze mix ?

I have engine oil and bubbles in coolant. Oil cooler,Blown head gasket, cracked head or block? Anything else it could be??
Nice video
Hello. I was hoping you could help me out with what size socket do you use to get the head bolt off an 06 outlander 2.4 Thank you.
You'll need to use a 12 point socket. It's a 12mm.
@@goodwingarage thank you man
What are the torque specs for rocker arms and head bolts
I need head bolt specs also
hey man do you remove the thing in the middle of the valve cover
If you can pop the hose off do that instead. If it won't come off then yes unscrew the pvc valve off of the valve cover.
@@artguz05 yo? whats the info on specs for head bolts

I have an eclipse and I'm putting everything new in the car because the guy who I brought from let it sit for a long time

Do you have to replace the head bolts, If not, then why not?
Check for stretch no stretch your good
Is the exhaust header cover necessary? I was thinking of taking mine off just as a weight reduction
I wrapped mine with heat wrap
whats the foot pound you torque the head
Im looking for the same did you find it
How much to get redone
The head I had redone for $140 which I think was a fair price.
Hate this car!
To much talk and no work to show
thanks for nothing with the large time jumps... stupid
